Limelight Department

Contracted with Limelight Department for a logo development as well as a website design and implementation. Our experience with the sales process was quite positive, but when it came to implementation our experience was horrific. They have little or no skill to follow through on the work that was promised.
Limelight Department refused to work on anything (specifically the website design and ebook integration) until the logo design was approved. The first cut of a logo took over 6 weeks and the work was entirely substandard — the logos lacked any creativity and looked entirely slapped together. While they thought there «was a winner in the group,» we felt entirely differently.
For the next round, they went to Shutterstock (a site with royalty free images to purchase) and downloaded other peoples’ designs and tried to pass them off as their own. We told them that we knew they purchased these and did not «create» them, as the contract specified. We attempted a few more conversations with them over the logo and all were as painful as the first few rounds.
We are days away from when the full scope of work — including a logo, website design with integration of a shopping cart and ebook technology — was to be completed and we have not a single thing that is usuable.
We have told them we want all work stopped and that we have no intention of moving forward with them on the work — including the logo design. After we asked them to stop work, they quickly put together a 2 page PowerPoint document that they said was a style guide on the unapproved logo (we had understood through the sales process that the style guide was a 40+ page document). This movement forward on an unapproved logo and after we specifically asked them to cease any and all work simply to attempt to extort an additional $ 1,980 IS TOTALLY DISHONEST.
Be very wary of this company. We regret that we ever got involved with them.
