On Sunday I took my mom, aunt, and a friend to Los Potrillos because it is close to where my mom lives. Mom is on a very restricted diet, but the rest of us wanted Mexican. While we took a walk, their staff made a trip to the store to accommodate my mom’s plain sandwich. We also ordered their special for the day, a shrimp dish, and the chimichunga. Each plate was enough for two meals, and delicious. The mango margarita was yummy, not too sweet. We will go again.

Was here a few months ago, and again on Cinco de Mayo. Both times — overpriced, weak drinks, average food. First time though, the service was good. The second time, they blamed the extremely slow service on being busy(er, a Mexican restaurant is surprised they’re busy on Cinco de Mayo? Really?), which would have been fine, until they overcharged us for the drinks(which took forever) and adding sauce to an entrée(which they prepared incorrectly anyway). Worse, when we had to explain the billing mistakes, they acted like they were doing us a favor when they adjusted it to be the correct amount(while continuing the slow, inattentive service, blaming being really busy). You’re a Mexican restaurant. You should probably plan to be busy on Cinco de Mayo. Even then, slow service isn’t the end of the world, but management needs to treat customers better. If I have to explain where you overcharged me in multiple spots, don’t make it seem like you’re doing me a favor when you adjust the bill so I’m charged the correct amount. One extra star because the service was so attentive on my first visit, and the slow service the second time was probably managements fault for poor staffing.

Not impressed with this restaurant. The only good thing about it was the service which earned them the single star. Nothing spectacular about the food or the margarita! Up charge if you want shredded beef or pork for your filling and the charge is PER item not per plate. Was really craving authentic Mexican food and this did not even come close

This place is pretty darn good. We popped in on a whim because we were in the area and were hungry and are so glad we did. The chips were good, the salsa wasn’t anything special. But the cheese enchiladas, chili relleno, and rice were delicious. Decent beef taco as well. And I loved the horchata. We will definitely come back to try other items.

Solid Mexican grub! Best chili relleno… One of the best dishes my boyfriend said he has ever had at a Mexican joint! We got the enchiladas and relleno combination with mole. Seriously one of the best moles. Sweet and chocolatey… Delish! The Mexican cabbage slaw was a nice starter with the chips and salsa as well. Stay away from the fried ice cream unless you don’t mind soggy crust… scoop size is generous though!

This has become a favorite place of ours! Great food for a great price. A wonderful atmosphere with a full bar. Family friendly but also great for a date night. The service is phenomenal. They remember us and always treat us extremely well! They seat us in our favorite spot every time they even remember other preferences like beer and food so we have ordered in the past. On cinco de Mayo they gave us a free bottle of tequila!!! This is my number choice for a restaurant for so many reasons!

So good! The server was absolutely fantastic(I wish I remembered his name, young guy, awesome personality, Great W/the suggestions!!!)(BONUS! BONUS!) and great service!!)(Sunday night after 7pm) He said the Margaritas not blended were best.. OMG he was right.!! I had a couple so very good! The food was exceptional. I had the Burrito Pollo Mole. It was huge. and one of the BEST Mole sauces I have ever had. The chips and salsa had great fresh flavor and my husband(that can’t do spicy stuff) LOVEDIT! So did my daughter. And even me who Loves the hottest stuff Loved it! And to top off dinner my daughters ordered a Cheesecake dessert thing. So worth it! Every bite of Our meals was absolutely fantastic.

The food was not horrible, but nothing special. A little on the flat side without much flavor. It was way over priced. 60.00 minus the tip for 3 people and that didn’t include drinks.

Good local neighborhood place! Very clean and friendly staff. We had the fajitas which were great and the serving size was huge. Also good, fresh tasting margaritas at a fair price. I would normally rate this place 4 stars, but I think I need to compensate for the ridiculous(and annoying) 1-star reviews. If you think the prices are high you should stick with your go-to meal: top ramen.

I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, but this place is pretty dang great. Their food is fresh and hot and it seems to be high quality. Their atmosphere is spacious and pleasant and their drinks are fantastic. I highly recommend this place to anyone. It is a little on the expensive side, but it’s pretty worth it.

I was excited to come try this place, but came away very disappointed. First, the prices were extremely high compared to other Mexican places in the area. Second, the salsa and chips were terrible. The chips tasted burned and the salsa was way too spicy, even for someone who likes hot food. Third, the food wasn’t very good. The enchilada sauce really sweet which I don’t like. The rice and beans were really runny, too. Fourth, the staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than waiting on customers. Won’t be back. We’ll stick with our other favorites in the area.

Nice place. Been wanting to check this place out for awhile and was not disappointed. The portions were proper and everything was delicious. The drink wasn’t strong but what do you expect from a restaurant. Would definitely go back.

I love Mexican food, maybe even more than my first born! Psst. Please don’t tell him this. Anyway, so I have my joint that I frequent and I am happy with. I will not mention their name because I don’t want to promote them while writing this review, but it is my go to spot. The only problem is that it causes me not to try other establishments. Which to me would be a missed opportunity to try other restaurants and new experiences. One day, I wanted something new… A new opportunity… A new experience, so I decided to change it up a little bit. My wife and I decided to go to Los Portillos, because it is a newer Mexican restaurant. When we entered there was no one. Not even the cliché cricket noise. We stood for about five minutes and someone finally popped around the corner and greeted us and were seated. The interior was a little bit darker and the bar area in the back looked like it was straight out of a strip club… Not that I frequent strip clubs… Don’t JUDGEME!!! I had the Pollo alla Crema, which is my go to dish and something that I judge a good Mexican restaurant by. The wife had the two enchiladas plate. The pollo alla crema was just so so… The chicken was extremely rubbery and chewy, the sauce was okay, and the rice was mediocre. I had a small taste of the enchiladas and they were a tad bit off as well. The sauce was very sweet and had a hint of chocolate. I thought they might have accidentally put mole on it, but it wasn’t the case. So the food was meh! The service wasn’t any better. The person that seemed to be in charge was a bit abrupt and a tad bit arrogant like his establishment was the best. He would come by and ask if we were doing okay and not wait for an answer. When paying our check he gave me the credit slip to sign and just walks away, so there I was just standing there holding the signed slip, so I just left it on a empty table and left… I guess this is what I get for trying something new! Would I call this my new place to go? No. Would I recommend it? No, many more better options out there in Eugene and Springfield.

We’ve driven by quite a bit and kept meaning to try it out. Tonight we did and it’s REALLY good! The service is good. They don’t over salt the food like all the other Mexican restaurants in town. The rice is good and best of all doesn’t sit around and get dry. The beans are great. I had chicken fajitas and my husband had the tacos al carbon. I tried his out and it was delicious! We’re going to make this a favorite spot.

I ate there a while ago with my mother. It was nothing special, just a typical sit down Mexican place with food served for American tastes. Very flavorless, and the atmosphere was blah. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially given the other reviews here and the other great options in the area. Pass.

The GF and I had dinner at Los P the other night… an hour from closing. The experience, and food, were both pleasant. This was our first trip to LP, and probably not our last. I don’t think LP is a «standout» among local Mexican options – but it’s definitely not bottom barrel. The restaurant(and bar) was clean and comfy, the staff were exceedingly friendly and attentive, and the food was fair. I had the fish tacos and my lady had the veggie burrito… which was massive. We left quite happy and full. I think the prices were fair. If it’s a place we are nearby again, we’d happily try another of their dishes.

I love this place. The service is outstanding. We’ve only been here twice but they make us feel like family. The food is good as well. Eugene doesn’t have a good Mexican restaurant, I’m from SoCal, this place is the best in Eugene.

We went here last night for Cinco de Mayo. It took 45 minutes for us to get our drinks. and not all of our drinks even showed up! They had one bartender bartending for the entire restaurant. It was not a good scene. We were there for an hour and a half and ended up leaving without even ordering food because our drinks took forever… Go on a slow night. The margarita I did end up having was tasty… but not worth so much of my time.

The food here is really good. The chile relleno was probably the best I’ve had since we lived in California. The rice, and beans were also great. The wait staff was very attentive, and friendly. When we lived in California, great mexican was easy to find, but until we found Los Potrillos, I didn’t think it existed in Eugene. I will definitely be back as often as possible. To sum it up: Great food Great staff Huge portions Reasonable prices

This place is just meh for me. I would come back but it’s not somewhere I would excitedly choose. The food was average, drinks were decent, service was good. They do have tons of tequila and A LOT of cocktails. That was a huge plus. Between my boyfriend and I we tried 4 different margaritas. Our bartender was nice and there was a girl who bought a couple things to us and she was awesome! The restaurant itself is nice inside and there were a fair amount of people there when we went in for lunch. I don’t have much to say about the food because it was just… okay. I would prefer Los Dos for the food… this place for the drinks though! The bartender also gave us two free shots before we left because it was Valentine’s Day. He was awesome!
