After going thru several office chairs that have expired too soon for my taste, I’ve finally convinced myself to go with something of greater quality. It’s key to purchase something you will be happy with the first time and not settle for less. That’s my curse. I’m a minimalist! I specifically wanted something well built. Ergonomically suitable for long periods in front a computer due to work was a must. After weeks of searching for that perfect choice, there was no alternative. Then it came down to best pricing and quickest delivery. Office World was just that. It had the lowest price point above all and delivery was included. On top of that, the delivery took two business days. Now that’s super quick! I highly recommend them. It’s a honest business and you have nothing to worry about. Hands down the best for office supplies.

We were researching ergonomic office chairs for our home office and Office World had the best price and by a wide margin for an Alera Elusion high back mesh chair. After I assembled the chair it was clear that one of the multi function levers was not working; I called Alera since they boast of offering a five year warranty. I was told I would be sent a part and would be required to remove the major assembly and put the new part on; not the reply I wanted to hear; and the part only after their support team member would trouble shoot the problem to determine if the chair was in fact defective. At the same time, I contacted Office World. Nicole DeLuise understood perfectly the absurdity of the situation and ordered a replacement chair to be sent. In the interim the support team member did confirm the chair was defective but could not guarantee if Alera would authorize a replacement chair. Ms. DeLuise went above and beyond and exercised the kind of service that the manufacturer should have immediately done. Subsequently and only after a great deal of intervention Alera did agree to ship a new chair which was at that juncture unnecessary. Kudos to Ms. DeLuise and her staff.

I read the other two reviews and I just wanted to clarify. They don’t have a store like most furniture shops, but they do keep samples of their most popular coffice chairs at their main office at the site listed. Just went there today and bought an Aeron chair that I LOVE.

I discovered Office World from Claire’s review above and wanted to clarify something. Office World is based in Eugene, where I live, but they are an online only retailer as far as I have experienced. I found the chair I wanted on their website and used the instant message service on the website(which works great) to ask about going to the store to shop, and I was told by their representative that they were online only and not a store. However, since I live in Eugene, they let me order through the website and then pick up the chair at their headquarters on Cleveland St. instead of having it shipped to me. As far as speed goes, I placed the order Friday afternoon and picked up the chair Monday morning. I feel that I got a good deal and a good product, and definitely a much better selection than Staples/Office Max/etc, but I just wouldn’t count on being able to go there to shop in person.

I got sick and tired of the high prices of Staples and Office Depot. I was online and just happened upon . WOWOWOWOW! I got a case of my favorite paper at at LEAST a 25% lower price from Universal and got some sheet protectors from universal 200 protectors for less than the regular price from the other guys. GOTO YOUWILLNOTBEDISAPPOINTED!!!

Wow, talk about Eugene’s hidden gems! For years my husband and I have been getting cheap office chairs from Staples and such, and inevitably they would be uncomfortable, the padding would go flat, pieces would come off, you’d feel screws through the padding, the chair would become crooked, couldn’t be raised anymore, etc. We slowly started buying more and more expensive ones(still from stores like Staples, Office Max, and so on), but even around the $ 200 range, we would soon start having issues. My husband’s a big guy(6’5″, 250 lbs), and spends all day sitting in front of his computers at work and at home. Since he likes to sit in what he calls the«Captain Kirk» position, leaning sideways, every single one of his chairs would become permanently slanted sideways, causing him back pain. So we decided it was time for a high quality chair. We knew we wouldn’t find what we were looking for at a regular office store, and we wanted to try chairs, so online was out too. Our first attempt was Scan Design. They had some great office chairs, but very little choice. After trying pretty much every other office place in town and finding nothing but crappy chairs, we suddenly came across the name«Office World»(thanks Google!). Office World is tucked away off Garfield and 2nd St, you’d never find it if you didn’t know about the place. But oh my god are we glad that we discovered them in time. We’d stopped by on a Sunday(closed), looked in the windows, and returned today during lunch. The greatest benefit of Office World is being able to try so many chairs in person. Several that had looked really comfy online(like Human Touch), weren’t that comfortable in reality. And while I had been skeptical about Herman Miller chairs(heard some complaints online about the front of the seat cutting off circulation because it’s too long for some people), those were actually great. As the guy at Office World explained: Too many people just buy a standard chair that’s not appropriate for their height/weight, and/or poorly adjusted. Contrary to expectations, we ended up going with a Herman Miller chair. We also thought we’d like the Aeron(more expensive) better, but the slightly cheaper Mirra was actually more comfortable for my husband. Best part: they come with a 12 year warranty, which is honored by Office World themselves, as in: They will actually send technicians to your house, with HM covering parts and labor. Pretty awesome! Prices at Office World are competitive too. We paid less for my husband’s chair than it sells for on Amazon. The slightly cheaper version seems to be a bit cheaper on Amazon, but the price difference is minimal, especially for the benefit of trying different ones. And if you ask, it’s possible that they’ll price-match. I didn’t check, since ours was already cheaper than online. I don’t doubt my husband’s ability to destroy even a Herman Miller chair with his Captain Kirk pose, but at least now we know we’re set(seated?) for a minimum of twelve years!

Be careful: old goods. We ordered 6 dozen Pentel PENR204A pens, and placed them in the supply closet on 12÷7÷2010. It took a couple of months to get down to using them, and then to realize that at least half were«dry» and wrote poorly. when i asked for a replacement, they said their 30 day policy prevented that, and that they wouldn’t do anything. I think they picked up some old goods, and should be receptive to a return if it takes months to figure out that something is defective. dean
