Great local business. Owner is very knowledgeable and friendly, always takes the time to help me find what I am looking for. Great selection in a relaxing environment. Something for everyone and every budget. Parking is plentiful and great stores are nearby.

Unless you want to go all the way up Willamette, this is your best bet for specialty kitchen items. Despite their size, their selection is better than Hartwick’s (which devoted 75% of its space to pans). Pepperberries has lots of baking and cake decorating supplies, as well as some unique food items (hostess gifts!), and a large selection of candles including those awesome Woodwicks.
If you’re into cooking classes, they have quite a few here, but make sure you sign up well in advance because they do fill up.

My husband and I came here to use a gift certificate we received as a wedding present. We were hoping to pick up some nice knives but needed a little bit of guidance in picking out just the right set. We received the best customer service I’ve had in a retail store in a loooong time. The woman (the owner?) took the time to talk to us about how we cooked, what we were looking for, and let us try out a couple of knives in the store’s kitchen. Once we’d decided on a set (the Wusthof Classic 7-​piece set with block — love love love), she walked us through the store talking about the other essentials every kitchen should have. It was a very soft sell, but informative nonetheless, and we’re hardly novices in the kitchen.
The store is a nice size and fairly well laid out, with a nice kitchen where they offer cooking classes. It’s on par with Hartwicks, but I found the customer service here to be so much more exceptional that I’m looking forward to going back as we add to our knife collection. Definitely worth checking out.
