A-OK for the price and location. We visit family in the outskirts of Eugene, closer to the Beltway. So we don’t need to be downtown nor in a plush setting but instead want to be close to family location and just need a place to crash each night after spending all day with the kids. This is the most out of the way location in a marginal area. But it is a very economical motel that doesn’t offer much in amenities. The rooms are sparse. The towels are scratchy. There’s no breakfast. Even though the microwave is the typical WEAK model it still dims the light when turned on. Old tube tv. Friendly receptionist. Asked for one room downstairs and one 2nd floor and got it. Couldn’t get Handicap room but first floor accommodation OK. There is some road noise and no option for a ‘back room.’ We WILL return mostly for the location to family and reasonable rate considering… Paying $ 70 for this place is CRAZY. Call them direct and just say you are shopping around and they will quote you something much less.

The individual that posted first for this place must have gotten payed off cause this place is mediocre at best. The rooms look like a bad 70s porno blew up and all the bathroom appliances are old and cover with water damage. The in benefit was it was 79 $ but for what I’m getting I would rather have stayed at another place for 30 $ more. If I were coming through Eugene this is NOT where I’d be staying. Two stars Down to one… Single ply TP wtf…

This is an inexpensive low-star-rated little motel, but it is great! I needed, in May of 2011, to visit Euene, Oregon on a consulting trip. After doing considerable research on the web on suitable hotels located in the part of Eugene in which I was interested, I chose the Royal Inn Eugene, and went ahead and booked reservations for my stay. When I arrived at the hotel, I was not disappointed. It is an older wood structure, with the rooms divided across two buildings, and I was very pleased with my stay here. I found the room to be very large and spacious, and it was apparent that it had also been recently renovated, and, best of all, the room came complete with a kitchenette, with a sizeable refrigerator, a microwave oven, and a very large counter, along with a small round kitchen table with two wooden chairs! I found the hotel staff, including the management/owners, to be incredibly helpful and friendly. Of course, this was an older motel, and definitely what you would call a «basic» motel. While it offers all of the basic amenities, and is quiet and well-kept, it is nonethelss a basic motel — it offers absolutely no frills, nor anything fancy, nor anything reeking of luxury. I was totally comfortable in this hotel, and would return again if I needed once again to stay in the area, but if you need a hotel that offers all sorts of frills, or need a hotel that is fancy, or one that is trendy, or that is artsy, or that would appeal to a hipster crowd, then you will want to give this place wide berth! However, if you want a good simple basic motel room at a very inexpensive price, then this is the place for you! Best of all, there is a pub/restaurant located a quarter-block up the street and across the little state highway on which the motel is located, and it is open for breakfast(they have a very large seating area) in the mornings. This place is a two-minute walk from the motel, and can easily be seen from the motel parking lot. And yes, there is free Internet WiFi with plenty of bandwidth!
