Skopil’s Cleaners

Great place. Amazing cleaning and pressing of uniforms and great customer service. They also have done alterations and I am completely satisfied.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR ALTERATIONS. I made it very clear what I needed done which was to simply hem one pant leg. I tried the pants on after picking them up to find that they let out both pant legs and now they are three inches too long on both sides. I returned to talk to them about it and some young guy who didn’t seem to have a clue told me that what I was saying wasn’t possible. NOT helpful and NO REFUND. Will not return for cleaning or any other service.

After two tries a stain on my husband’s pants could not be removed. The pants ended up somewhat lighter from the chemicals, but the stain remained. Okay, they couldn’t do the job. But when I asked for a refund I was told that the work was done, the products used and… period. It was only a few dollars but why should a person pay for a service they did not receive? There used to be such a thing as customer service. This sort of thing was considered the cost of doing business. Will not give our business to Skopils again.

They routinely remove the collar stays from my shirt collars, then forget to replace them. I am left with expensive shirts that have floppy collars.
I tried to address the issue with a scruffy male employee at 5PM on 12/​19/​2011. He was very rude to me. I will not be returning my business, and I do not recommend them.

What a great cleaners! I sure miss the downtown location, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that Skopil’s is the best in town, and the best I’ve experienced. To top it off, they offer non-​toxic dry cleaning. Now, to be perfectly honest, I have no way to confirm that. But, I trust them.
My review of Skopil’s consists of the three major catastrophes they’ve helped me avert.
1. Cat senses that I’m leaving for Spain. Cat promptly pisses all over my down comforter. Skopil’s removes every single trace of cat pee. Seriously. How did they do that?
2. I have the wedding of my dreams, and hubs and I keep the party going around the campfire until the sun comes up. My beautiful wedding dress and white pashmina shawl are sort of covered with ash, red wine spatters, and tomato soup [hey, don’t judge – we had a great time!]. I am so saddened by this damage to my dress that I don’t deal with the stains until our one-​month anniversary, at which time I get the man to take it in because I’m scared of the chastising I’ll receive. Not only does Skopil’s clean the dress and shawl (no stains anymore – none whatsoever!), they don’t even tack on any extra charges for super-​cleaning. Amazing.
3. We take our winter down comforter in for a cleaning this spring and, somehow, a piece of plastic gets melted to a corner of the comforter during the dry-​cleaning process. A Skopil’s employee promptly and swiftly explained the problem to the owner, who cut us a check for a generous value of the comforter’s cost.
