This place is by far one of the worst places in Eugene. I have tried them three times now and each one has been a terrible dining experience. On the first visit the table we were seated at was dirty and I had to clean my table. I had ordered the biscuits and gravy with two eggs, the biscuits were hard and gravy was cold had to send it back twice, I also found the wait staff rude. The second time they placed me and my two friends in a back corner table and we didn’t see anyone for 25 minutes the only time we saw the wait staff was when we got up to leave due to being ignored. on the 3rd and final time, the straw that broke the camels back, was the worst. xfor seated then ignored for about 15 minutes. Finally when the waiter came back to of table without drinks, not even water, he had an attitude like he couldn’t be bothered with us. The 3 of us order the breakfast special, which came with two stale biscuits, cold overly sweet nasty gravy, the bacon was burnt and the two eggs are not cooked to order. Odd course when brought up to our waiter he couldn’t be bothered with it. He was to busy running around texting and trying to look pretty. Asked to speak with the manager and after waiting yet another 15 minutes we got up and acted three different times going there, I am never stepping foot in there again and telling all my friends and family to avoid the place like the plaque. Unfortunately I can’t give negative stars and it won’t let me pat until I rate it with stars and that is the only reason they got one star.

I’ve always ordered the garden burger and had great luck with it. The location is ideal which is the main reason I ever go there. The service is absolutely awful. There is one girl in particular who, starting about 30 minutes before close, stops everyone at the door to say they will be closing in 30 minutes. They treat you like crap and act like we are the lucky ones because they are allowing us to enter the restaurant. Do they realize we have tons of other places to choose from? I was there tonight and at 9 on the dot she turned the music off– it was so weird and awkward to eat in complete silence. She stood around huffing and puffing that we were still there. I’ve honestly never come across such a mediocre restaurant with such snotty waitstaff. Don’t eat here!

I went there for breakfast and got the Country Fried Steak and Eggs. The hash browns were cooked perfectly… crispy on the top and warm and buttery. It came with three eggs(most places give you two), and the country fried steak was HUGE! Not only was it big, it was cooked well and seasoned very well. My daughter and I have a tradition of going out for breakfast on the weekend, and we have been to many different breakfast places in the Eugene/Springfield area. I am also on a quest to find the best breakfast(I’m a huge chicked fried steak fan) in the area. Of all the places I have been too, this is the best… period…breakfast.period…in the area… period.

Went with my family and waited 30 mins just to be seated so I thought this was going to be something special. when we finally got seated the waiter took out drink order and took 15 minutes to bring 4 coffees. we all ordered our food and waited… and waited… we waited almost an hour until I asked where our food was. the waiter said it would be out in a few minutes and it was. the problem is that the food was not warm and it was looked like it was made and then forgotten about until I asked for gross we left without eating or paying!!! I’ll never go there again and it’s a wonder they stay in business!

As we left out the door after our meal here two days ago I looked at my girlfriend and said…“take a look around… we’ll never be back in here”. The waitress who seated us was friendly… she took our breakfast order and brought us coffee around 10:30. Our food did not arrive for 30 minutes. The restaurant was way less than half full and it appeared there was plenty of staff. We’re looking around and at each other wondering what the problem could be. It was just oatmeal and an omelet we ordered. The cook seemed preoccupied with himself and chatter. The food was delivered by a young man who just put the plates in front of us and was gone. I had ordered home fries and got hash browns. No one ever came by to ask how our order was. Our waitress finally came back to our table with a bill when we were finished eating… but just laid it on the table and never asked if everything had been OK. As we went to the register to pay we and another couple had to wait quite some time to pay our bill. Again it was our waitress who came to the register… and we were never asked how the meal was. She just took our money and moved on. The carpet around the register was so dirty the soles of my shoes stuck to some crud on it. I’m new to Eugene and have found many wonderful places to eat here… unfortunately…this is not one of them.

The food is not awful bit it’s not great either. It’s not worth the bad service and wait time. The servers are friendly but it’s just chaotic. Like no one knows what they are supposed to be doing. Take forever to take your order and everyone is waiting for food. Even when it’s not packed. Prices are low which is good but it’s really mediocre food and sitting around waiting. Like forever.

It’s just good, simple food like Mama would make. Never had an issue here, always seated right away, and the service is always good! GREAT meatloaf! The meatloaf sandwich is really delicious, and the meatloaf dinner is good too. I’ve already said meatloaf three times, so… that tells you something. LOL. Real mashed potatoes(as in, not from a mix), gravy, veg medley is surprisingly good! Rolls and butter, my food crack. Lighter portion meals too, which are just enough food to fill me up without making me feel stuffed(and I have a good sized appetite). Chicken fried steak– yum. Pork chops– yum. Juicy and not overcooked like pig pucks– an accomplishment indeed. So yeah, definitely regular olé American food most of us grew up with at our dinner tables. That’s a good thing!

I bring my family here often. Kids love it. Portions are great. The sever, Joel, always is warm and welcoming. Joel never disappoints with his service. We’ve never had a poor experience here.

This place is great for what it is. Great breakfast, and the quality for the price is excellent. I stopped in for a quick dinner and again the quality of the food was fresh and cooked great. I know it’s old school café type food, but it is good for Coburg have breakfast served at all hours and the eggs, Sausage, and hash browns were fantastic!!! I am looking forward to trying more than chicken and eggs! The menu is great and I’m looking forward to trying desert at some point…

Comfort food guaranteed. Good wings, eggs, burgers and country fried steak. There’s something they do to make all these staples just a bit better than you’d expect.

I ate here last night with my husband and mother, without seeing any previous reviews. It was just one of those places we had passed by a hundred times without thinking much about it and then we were in the area and wanted to go to a different restaurant we hadn’t been to before. I’m honestly glad I didn’t read any reviews before going here, given I haven’t read much that was positive. We just happened to be shopping at Oakway and debating nearby restaurants. We walked in and saw two employees serving customers, once the closest one finished up, he greeted us and stated he would be right there to help us. So we were not ignored in any way. Our server, Kendra came out to greet us, asked if we wanted a booth or table, and once we stated a booth, she gave us several options, by the door, a window, in the middle of the dining room. We said by a window and she took us to it, and continued to give us great service all the way through our meal. She answered all of our questions, gave recommendations, and was quite helpful. She never acted impatient or in a hurry. We were never out of drinks or lacking anything. I had the pot roast, my husband had a fish platter, and my mother had cod. We all had the clam chowder as well. The food was good. It was clearly homemade and not processed. It reminded me of old school cooking, like hearty and something my grandmother would’ve made. Which I liked. It was made with care and attention to detail. Not processed and slapped onto a plate to sit under a warming lamp and wait for me to order it. It took the usual amount of time to prepare, not so quick it wasn’t cooked, and not long enough for me to be impatient or bored. Everything came at appropriate intervals and Kendra checked on us regularly without ignoring or being annoying. The portion sizes were quite large. I had a «lighter side» order as it’s called and a cup of chowder, and I couldn’t finish it. I love that they have this option for smaller portions. I don’t typically eat a lot in one sitting, so these work perfectly for me and not having to take a bunch home. I think their prices are totally reasonable. My husband ordered the most expensive item, being the fish platter and it was only like $ 16. I don’t remember the exact amount, but right around $ 16. For three of us to order dinners and soda/coffee, it was only $ 42. I had no problem with that, and I took some home. My mother and husband finished theirs, and were quite full and satisfied. I was impressed by the attention to detail given by the waitstaff. Both of them working took care of tables. Our server was Kendra, but the male server walked by and offered to remove empty plates and refill drinks as well. It wasn’t necessarily needed because Kendra was doing a great job, but the fact they took care of each other’s tables and were a team impressed me. I heard the male waiter(I don’t know his name) say to another diner, «I hope you enjoy the rest of your night. Thanks for spending part of it with me.» That tells me how much he appreciates his customers. Because going into any restaurant is a choice. There’s a million other places they could’ve gone. I like that he really communicated that appreciation so easily and effectively. This is definitely a place that we will go back to. A true test of any good restaurant is consistency. Can they give the same level of food and service the next time we go? We will see, but I hope and expect it to happen.

Seated quickly, server was friendly. Waited 30 minutes for breakfast while there were only 5 other tables of customers in the place. I would have thought breakfast would have been much quicker personally. Food was okay. Pancakes were lackluster but bacon was good. Also had a monte cristo that wasn’t bad. Food is what saved this review from being a 1 star as it was passable. Service after being seated was friendly but the slowest I’ve seen in a sit down restaurant in a long time. If you don’t have all day to wait, this place likely isn’t for you. The service was a solid 1 even with it being friendly.

Extremely unimpressed. Sadly this is a great location for people who work in the area and when it was BJ’s the food was good and nice lunch specials. What it is now is a modified Denny’s, but it’s actually more expensive and the selection isn’t as impressive. The food is over priced, 10+ bucks for a 3 egg omelet? Are you kidding me? The atmosphere is super bland and lacking, very dull, not lively. The music they had playing sounded like they told Pandora to only pick unpopular 70 – 90’s songs. The booth they put me in was uneven, had a big cut on the bench seat, and questionably cleaned. Anyhow the service was adequate, though my server was fairly aloof and unimpressive. Onto the food. I ordered the nachos, it’s $ 9 and you get a fairly large plate of food, unfortunately you aren’t going to want it. You can really tell a restaurant by how badly they mess up nachos. The taco meat was super greasy, drain that before serving. I can forgive using bulk ingredients, but when the entire plate tastes like it was out of a can and microwaved, yuck. The«guacamole» was green liquid goo out of a container, the salsa was pace picante, which just really isn’t good on restaurant nachos, the sour cream was standard low quality, and the shredded cheese was from a package, not grated on site, packaged shredded cheese makes bad nachos because it doesn’t melt right from the anti caking agent used. So add this all up and you end up with some really low quality nachos. Too many ingredients with mounds of preservatives. Yes it’s a harsh review but this«family» joint isn’t really worth it. Sad that’s the best they could do with such a nice place.

We’ve eaten at Kozy Kitchen a few times now. Tasty. So far we’ve liked everything we’ve had. The cinnamon-roll pancakes are unique and delicious. Good service. Large portions for your dollar.

I want to like Kozy as it’s close and convenient so my first review was based on what I thought was the potential of this location and the ability to put out quality family style food. After now several visits or roughly a $ 400 investment, here’s is why I’ve deleted my first review because frankly it was way off. Front of house service… awkward. Little communication, poorly setup. Service…slow, uneven Food…mediocre, nothing great, all OK. Breakfast is simply to pull off, why 40+ minutes to get even a simply dish. On our last visit, watched people get up and leave without ever getting their food. We waited 35 minutes, no drink refills, walked away as well without nary a word from any of the headless chickens walking about. That being all said. maybe another try in several weeks to see if any changes made. If not, this family won’t be Kozy anytime soon.

Not having ventured to the Coburg area in some time, we drove to this location thinking we’d be getting brunch at the Wild Duck. Upon arriving, we realized Wild Duck had closed and The Kozy was its replacement. Without a backup, we decided we’d just give this place a try. After standing around waiting for several minutes, we were finally seated and given some menus. For a restaurant that seems to pride itself on great breakfast, we thought it was a bit strange that they did not have eggs benedict. So, we decided on a turkey club sandwich and a sirloin cheeseburger. After placing our order, our server just disappeared so we could not order drinks. To make matters worse, we came during a Ducks game and some of the TVs were off. Even after requesting one of them to be turned on so we could watch the game, the TV was left off for the remainder of our time at the restaurant. After a substantial wait, we were finally brought our food. The turkey was dry, bland, and cut up into chunks – not sliced as you’d expect a turkey club. It almost appeared as though the same turkey was used for all their turkey dishes. The bread was decent and tasted fresh, but that’s about all that could be said for the turkey club. As for the burger, it was very dense, cooked well-done, and was on the dry side. Although the meat was good quality, it was definitely a disappointment. Maybe we just hit this place at the wrong time and ordered the wrong thing. Some of their breakfast items coming out of the kitchen looked pretty decent. And, the prices are very reasonable. However, we were definitely not very satisfied with our experience at The Kozy.

Friendly staff. Menu looks like breakfast is their main course. Comfort food. They do have more when you open up the menu. They also have four 42″ TV plus wifi. Good spot to stop in after a Sheldon football game

We will be back for sure. The portions are huge. The hashbrowns are just way I like it, crispy and lots of butter. The biscuits are made in house. Gravy has just the right consistency and full flavor. The OJ is from concentrate but just fine. The large is a full pint. Show up hungry. Service is good. Better than any Denny’s or iHop.

The Kozy hasn’t been in Eugene very long at all. In fact, this place opened its doors down in North Bend, OR. I know this as I am a native of the southern coast. The Kozy Kitchen, A.K.A. The Kozy, is that place we would go to eat at 1am when we were drunk and craving breakfast in our late teens, early twenties. What they do best is breakfast. I have NEVER opted to have dinner/lunch at The Kozy. Why? I’m not sure, I guess because I’ve seen plenty of food brought out, and nothing ever looked appatizing enough. Also, they specialize in breakfast, so ordering a plate of meat loaf with mashed taters and gravy just never crosses my mind. Ever. Let’s consider the clientele they’ve had over the years. Senior Citizens, Fisherman, Loggers, and Drunken Youth. Where as Eugene has plenty of Senior Citizens and Drunken Youth, I think The Kozy would perform better if located closer to campus for the hangover crowd. We came in the other day to give this location a run. I grabbed an order of B&G per usual. It hasn’t changed a bit! Same ‘ol salty, filling, B&G that I used to crave after a long night of drinking. Since living in Eugene, I’ve been exposed to some pretty decent breakfast spots. I can’t see myself coming here on a consistent basis. If I were in Coos Bay/North Bend??? Yeah… I would go to The Kozy… Options are limited. But up in Eugene, I would rather go to Studio 1 or The Glenwood. An upside is that they have good prices with large portions, so keep that in mind when hunting for a grip of food for cheap. They are a bit understaffed at the moment. The other day we were able to get seated, but it was a 45 minute wait for food. Say What???
