Love this little tea shop! Not a lot of organic choices, but enough to keep me happy. Always nice people working the counter and cozy velvet couches to lounge on. I like getting a tea to go and people watching on broadway on a friday night. Adorable art by the doors, and nice people chilling out drinking tea.

Wide selection of tea drinks, over 100 different types! Nice and relaxing ambience for studying, hanging out, and light grubbing. One down side is that they do not do latte art BUT this is due to their utilization of unique tasting tea that are incompatible with the ingredients used In latte art. So it’s a very reasonable compromise :) Overall, a must visit, go for aroma, stay for the taste!

My boyfriend and I adore this place because we are addicted to the bubble tea! Hands down the best bubble tea in town. I have friends that don’t like bubble tea, but they WILL drink it here! Enjoy!

Townshend’s is downtown. Townshend’s has tea. Lots of it. Maybe 90 varieties. I’m nobody’s tea expert but I like what they have. Prices are reasonable. Seating is sometimes hard to come by, which is a good problem for them to have. Definitely a positive addition to the downtown area.

Their bubble tea is pretty meh. I actually had the owner tell me that he didn’t do any research on how other people made bubble tea before they started serving it.(boggle) Their hangout space isn’t that great either, uncomfy seating and few tables. They’re fine, but feel a little overrated.

Can confirm that the service is a bit slow like other reviews have mentioned but you also have to take into consideration that tea takes time to brew. That said, it can be frustrating to stand in line for so long while they are making the person ahead of you drink; just take my order and those in line so we could go sit and wait instead of stand and wait. It’s a nice atmosphere, spacious in the central area. I came on a weekday after the morning rush so it was mostly calm. The ambience was warm but it’s a bit dark inside, lights are dimmed pretty low. I wish there is outdoor seating, would have loved to be able to sit out in the sun drinking my bubble tea. Street parking was a bit frustrating to find since its downtown area. Most of the spots around are free 2hr zones.

I’m a Portlander and this place is my all time fav in the Alberta district of NE. This space in downtown Eugene is pretty great. It doesn’t have quite the charm and quirkiness of the NE Portland location but it does have knowledgeable staff, the same great expertise in finding you the right drink as well as making a lovely space to enjoy it in. I know the NE one has a crazy amount of traffic so it’s hard to miss the rush but this one particular visit there was no line and it was perfectly peaceful inside. Support our local businesses and enjoy a tea without leaving smelling like a coffee shop!

Great beverages. Hot tea, cold tea, traditional tea, eastern tea, and boba tea/bubble tea. Very chill atmosphere in downtown Eugene. I prefer their green tea base boba, and you then choose your flavor, and then I like the tapioca pearls. I have had their blueberry and their Taro both of which were excellent. Refreshing and tasty!

This is my hubby and my favorite place for date night. I drink the black tea with french cream and mallow flowers in it. I think it is #13. The drawers at the tables are full of notes and letters from previous visitors. Great place!

Was meeting friend last Thursday here. I got there @ 5pm, there were 2 people in line in front of me: one lady that the tea-guy behind the counter was helping and another guy in front of me that was there when I walked in the door. Tea-guy was helping this lady so extensively that he explained he’d be with the guy in front of me momentarily after that. Mind you, there were 2 other tea-ladies walking about behind the counter busying themselves with side duties, too caught up in those jobs to help the other customers waiting over 10 minutes in line b/c Tea-guy was helping lady so consummately. All I wanted was a kombucha pour… I gave up after 12 minutes waiting in line, found a table and started reading until there was no line(the guy who was in line in front of me got his tea order in 5 minutes after I sat, told me «the line finally moved.» I looked and there was no line so I went up to the counter, Tea-guy was there and said«I’ll help you a few minutes»(Really!?) as he opened some lock-box thingy in front of me – Tea-ladies still wandering about with side duties, finally one realized I was standing there and helped me with my kombucha – all I wanted was a glass of kombucha… I think I mentioned that… Since there are plenty of other tea, kombucha & coffee café’s in town I’ll probably not choose this one again unless desperate since they have different ideas about customer service: make ‘em wait, because we have no idea how to expedite… that’s the message I got… AND – I have had 2 years experience working for Peet’s Coffee & Tea, so I know how important expediting is – it’s not hard, it’s just smart.

Premium tea and great hangout. Scores of teas and custom«mood» blends. Good place to watch out the window, though downtown has some unscenic characters. Staff was ultra-friendly.

If you love tea, you should NOT miss this place. Their huge tea menu is impossibly legit. I was getting sick and before coming in, I hoped they’d have something similar to the Gypsy Cold Care blend of teas and whattaya know, they have an entire Apothecary section on their menu.

Two years later, Townshend’s is as popular and classy as ever– so much so that I always have to hustle to get a window seat(best seats in the house, yo!) I like the revolving selection of local artwork that adorns the space, the punch cards, the fragrant display wall of loose leaf tea jars, the shelves filled with tea paraphernalia, and the novel-sized menu of loose leaf teas, bubble teas, kombuchas and elixirs. It’s a treat to be able to order a cup of yerba mate and have it served in its original gourd– or a gluten-free frosted apple spice donut, alongside a pint of white rose kombucha on tap. I do wish Townshend would leave their tea leaves in your pot when they serve it to you; part of the appeal of ordering loose leaf tea is getting hot water refills! Currently though, my favorite drink is the ginger green chai latte. It’s spicy, lightly sweet and warming, and somehow manages to make me feel at once healthy and alert, caffeinated but not jittery. It’s the perfect study, chat or chill drink.

A generous variety of Kombucha, you must try this refreshing fermented tea of consistent bacteria if you haven’t before. They also offer a vegan soy miso soup that tastes delicious. A good choice for a quick stop-by.

I haven’t been here for hot tea yet, so I plan on doing that sometime soon. I’ve had the bubble tea though, and it’s not like the cheaper stuff you get at Asian fast food places. I like how prominent the tea flavor is. Next time though i will ask for little to no ice, as I spent about 10 minutes fishing for tapioca through the ice with my straw! Update: The bubble tea is much better without ice in my opinion. I have also tried the silver tip jasmine tea(hot) and it was wonderful. It felt like I was drinking a flower, which is what I would expect from really good jasmine tea.

Don’t go anywhere else for tea in Eugene. I needed a cup of tea to get over a sore throat and I know I picked the best place. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and they even made a recommendation based on what I said I liked in my tea. I was able to grab a comfy seat and they brought the tea right to me. The hot cup did wonders for my throat and I wish I had time for another cup!

The tea qualuty, flavor and presentation is the best thing about Townshend’s Eugene Teahouse. I go out of my way to go here but of the dozen or more time that I’ve been in here, the service is pretty bad; mostly grumpy faces, negative attitudes, and sluggish personnel! Too bad, for such a zenned out teahouse. Recommended: Hot– Vanilla Roibos, Earl Grey Cold– Bubbletea with lavender fruit jellies

Great tea, speedy service and a wonderful selection. Definitely worth the stop. I was on my way to meet a client to show a home. I had about 10 extra minutes and decided to stop by for a bubble tea. I love that you can pick the base here. As well as the options available. Amazing! I was very impressed. It’s a hip and trendy place for sure. Lots of options for tea itself. You can buy it by the ounce I believe. I’ll be back. No doubt.

I find myself back in a bizzarro version of known territory. Downtown Eugene. Broadway and Willamette. It used to be a pedestrian mall, and a bit run down at that. Nowadays it’s a bustling corner with a whole bunch of hip businesses, many of them from PDX. Sizzle Pie, Killer Burger, Voodoo Donuts and this, Townshend’s, one of my local Portland favorites. It’s an easy choice for a warm sunny afternoon iced tea and some serious laptopping. Unlike the Portland locations of Townshend’s, this space is huge. It’s wide open, with lots of areas for seating(but surprisingly not that many tables). The menu is replete with tons of great tea choices organized by type, as well as bubble tea, tea lattes, and their fantastic kombucha on tap. You can order teas hot or cold, and have them with various types of milks including my favorite, coconut milk. Mmmm… They even have a few outside tables for when the weather is fine. Staff is friendly, and they’re quick with the tea. That’s also par for the course for the PDX locations. The only real bugaboo here is that the wifi was pretty spotty… it took me a while to connect, and there were a lot of folks in there doing shit like streaming music and watching videos, which made it tough for me to get my work done. But hey, that’s the democracy of free wifi, right? If you like tea in any form, get thee to Townshend’s. It’s amazing.

Very awesome and chill environment with outlets, lounge couches, and tables. This is definitely a great place to relax and get some work done. Not to mention, a HUGE selection and variety of teas ranging from green teas and black teas to chai and bubble teas. If you’re a tea fan, this is the spot for you. Not much to say for this place is very simple. A very relaxing vibe.
