I’ve been practicing at ZenSpot for nearly 2 years. The owners and instructors are wonderful and friendly! They make an effort to get to know you, and really care about helping you advance your practice, heal your injuries and generally become stronger and healthier overall. They offer modifications for beginners, as well as some advanced modifications for those who feel adventurous, or who have been practicing for a while. The pricing is competitive, and you can use your member ship at both the Eugene and Portland studios (really convenient if you travel like I do! :)). I have previously tried hot yoga at a different studio and really enjoy the variety and the attitudes of the instructors and owners at ZenSpot.
Yoga at ZenSpot makes me a stronger and happier person, and I cannot recommend it enough! Give it a try!

I’ve been practicing at Zen Spot for a year and it just keeps getting better. I’ve taken classes from all of the instructors and each one offers something unique, but consistent with the other instructors. I am always excited when I see who will be teaching. I’ve come to realize that this is my practice and regardless of the instructor, what I get out of the class is completely up to me. Zen Spot is an amazing Yoga community and I am so happy to be a part of it!

Every time I come to class, it’s an amazing experience.
The instructors that work here– Julie, Alexa, Sydney, Nina, Renee, along with the owners Kelli & Michael, are all knowledgable yoga practitioners and give a quality practice that exercises your mind, body, and soul.
If you practice your asana with regularity, great things will happen.

I’d give 0 stars if it was an option. Quite possibly the worst run business I’ve ever been to. The staff is incredibly rude and lacks the knowledge required to operate a yoga studio. I went here for about eight months simply because it was the only hot vinyasa flow studio in town, however I always found myself leaving angry — totally opposite of what I’m looking for in a yoga practice!
Nooshi, the studio manager (dark, curly-​hair) is one of the worst human beings I’ve ever encountered. She is rude, condescending, and definitely not qualified to lead you through a practice. The owners, Michael and Kelly, have inflated egos and terrible customer relations. Save your money and DO NOT GO HERE!
This is the only hot vinyasa studio in town so it gets a lot of business but you would be far better off choosing HARD CORE YOGA on crescent ave. it is further out but has great classes, phenomenal teachers, and a lovely studio. The prices are better, the experience is better, and you still get a great work out!

I’ve been to ZenSpot’s hot yoga a few times, plus many more hot yoga experiences out of state, and they were great. However, last week I attended a hot yoga class that consisted of bright lights, club-​like music, and was fast paced.
When I spoke to one of the owners to see if I could receive a staff schedule, to see if another instructor would teach yoga how it should be… dim lights, soft music, and a pace for hot yoga that wouldn’t get me injured… he rudely asked me, «Who is this?» as if I had no right to ask such a question. Other yoga studios have that information already listed.
He then continued to explain how their hot yoga is not consistent, changes from instructor to instructor, and how one instructor may even change their methods midweek (all while laughing sarcastically at me).
Way to go ZenSpot and co-​owner Michael! Treat all customers this way and you may find yourself out of business before the year end!

I give this company 0 stars. I have never done hot yoga before and my boyfriend had gone to this company 1 time 5 years ago and said it was a nice facility. There was a groupon for this place so I bought one for myself and one for him as a gift so we could do it together. We would both have 10 sessions with this groupon. We go in there and the owner refused to let us use our coupons because my boyfriend had gone there 1 time 5 years ago and this coupon is only for new customers. We explained to the owner that we didn’t realize that we couldn’t use the coupon if he had been there before. We pleaded with him and asked him if there was a way to use some of the coupon since I paid 80 dollars toward zenspot. We both go to school and have a limited budget and I purchased these to better our health. He refused and said there was no way for him to accommodate us. I could not believe the lack of compassion and arrogance from this guy. I don’t know how a guy like him stays in business in Eugene where most people are friendly and apart of a community. He was so rude and just told us to leave and call groupon. I would never recommend this place to anyone!

I loved Zen Spot when I first started going. The classes were great and I always felt like I was being challenged (and they always include an ab workout, which is awesome).
But there are a few things that have turned me away from this studio, despite it being the only non-​bikram hot yoga studio in eugene.
First, their staff can be rude and off-​putting. Though she teaches a great class, there is one instructor (brown curly hair) who often scolds or talks down to you in front of the class when your form is incorrect. In a setting where we’re supposed to feel unselfconscious and confident in ourselves, this makes it very difficult.
I’m also disgusted by the pricing here. I’m a college student, so I don’t have a lot of extra money to spend, but I care about my body and will pay for yoga as much as I can afford. But Zen Spot is just too much money. A 5-​class package is $ 70, and it expires in 25 days. I want to be able to come to class when I want, not feel pressured by a window of time. They are also the only studio I’ve ever been to that doesn’t offer a student discount.
The other thing is that this studio can be EXTREMELY crowded. They never cap the number of students and there have been times when I can’t even do the poses because there isn’t enough space around me.
If Zen Spot is making as much money off of their customers as it seems, they should be able to expand their facilities, offer better package options, and get some new instructors. Hopefully someone opens another hot yoga studio in eugene, because they’d make a killing. Until then, I’ll have to do without.

I really loved practicing hot yoga here at first but a number of occurrences have made me not want to spend any money here.
First, I loved a hot yoga option in town with a varied class sequence, and the music was awesome.
Issues: not having the instructor listed on the schedule. If I am paying for classes (expensive here!) I want to be able to decide if I’m going to a class taught by an experienced teacher that I connect with or by a teacher in training who is practice teaching and still working on sequencing, flow, and cueing. In my opinion, a class taught by a teacher still in training should be discounted or even free.
What really ticked me off here was an interaction with the owner/​instructor. Even after II told her that I worked at a different studio and loved it, she proceeded to bad mouth the practice, the price, and the culture. I felt like I had to defend myself. Very unprofessional and rude.
It’s tough because I loved how I felt after class and I enjoyed most classes very much! But the weird vibes with the owners make me not want to give them any of my money. Bummer.

I only went for a week due to time constraints, but definitely enjoyed my experience there. I’ve been practicing hot yoga for a year now (and yoga for longer) and really appreciated the more fast paced atmosphere-​forced me to push myself to my limits!
I read Unilocal reviews before going and the negative ones really made me nervous… but, I was very happy to experience the complete opposite of what the reviews claimed. The instructors were very friendly and even open to chat after class.
So basically, great studio for yogis with experience!

I bought a groupon for zen spot the last time they had this deal and I am really surprised they are doing this again. I was treated horribly after they found out I was a groupon customer. Maybe it’s different for someone who pays full price. I’ll never go back, they are snobs.

The hardest and best workout ever! Saw my body change in just a few weeks. And, it’s a fun, encouraging and supportive practice. Love Kelli and Michael!

I found the ZenSpot web site around Feb 1^st and was attracted to hot yoga as a possible workout routine to lose weight. I called the number on the site twice and got a live response and answers to my questions from the owner.
I was impressed with the professionalism of the web site and the answers to my questions. I’m not your typical yoga student being male, 61 years of age, 250 lb. However, I am at a point in my life where I was in need of a life changing experience, and just happened to find this studio from a Google search.
I am very happy with the entire ZenSpot program and staff. Both owners have extensive experience and advanced degrees that supports their professionalism, besides being very friendly and accessible like answering their business phone live every time that I have called. They also train teachers and have advanced training and knowledge in ayurveda, personal empowerment, and feng shui. I like their integrated, holistic approach. They really care about helping people take their personal growth to the next level.
I happen to enjoy the hot yoga as it is an intensive workout while at the same time getting the other health benefits of yoga. I am so inspired that I just completed my own 30 day challenge — today — doing one class every day for 30 days! It has been life changing for me to find this studio and hot yoga practice that is very reasonably priced. The quality of the teaching and experience is excellent.
I was at first surprised to see some lower rated reviews on this business. Everyone is free to express their opinion if that is true for them. There is a difference between not liking a certain style of yoga and the quality of the class instruction of that style. I suggest that anyone reading this make an informed decision by looking deeper into this instead of just looking at the # of stars.
To really discern what works best for you try their intro special– $ 25 for unlimited classes the first week. Or ask questions of the students when they come out of a class. Or call the business during the day and see if you get one of the owners live to answer your questions.
If this review seems biased, it is. I love this place. I used to teach meditation and did yoga forty years ago and it’s like coming home.

To give the owner credit, she followed up with me after hearing about this and apologized for the manager’s rude behavior. She seemed sincere in her apology, so I appreciate that. Nevertheless, I think it shouldn’t have happened in the first place, and I’m deeply disappointed in the type of employees they choose to hire to represent their business.

Zen Spot, is a great yoga studio, with fantastic instructors and owners. Kelly, has been training for quite sometime and has taken great measure in keeping her practice current for herself and her clients. It is a great place, for new yoga practitioners as well as seasoned ones. Check it out, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Zenspot is an excellent place to be introduced to hot yoga. The instructors are less rigid/​militaristic than other styles of hot yoga, the studio is clean/​bright and best of all, not smelly! The Vinyasa flow-​style keeps you constantly moving, and switches things up, and the instructors aren’t hell-​bent on making sure you keep your knees locked at all times, which I think is a really scary/​dangerous practice in Bikram. The only downside for me personally is that because you are constantly moving in Vinyasa, as opposed to a repetitive sequence where you hold poses for longer periods of time, this style feels just a little less meditative but more athletic. If that’s what you’re looking for though, Zenspot is an excellent place to practice. Your body and mind will thank you for it!

This studio is not for those who want the inner experience of yoga– or for those who want a community feel, or for those desiring a safe and supportive environment where your injuries are accommodated, or modifications for different levels, or respectful owners (I have spoken face to face with instructors who quietly tell me about mistreatment by owners). It is expensive, and I do not appreciate the two owners using the Dr. title in front of their names when neither has a medical degree. (one has an advanced degree in education). There are other studios in Eugene that offer what this studio is missing… although they won’t offer hot yoga…

I love Zen Spot. I’ve been coming here for over two years. I think the monthly rate is very reasonable, especially if you opt for automatic withdraw — less than $ 100 per month unlimited. It’s worth the price if you are an avid yogi. I like Zen Spot better than Bikram because the instructors vary the routine and the studio doesn’t smell. The founders Michael and Kelli are hilarious and fun. I love that they remember my name. The studio also offer a wonderful instructors training, which I hope to join next summer. Overall, wonderful and supportive atmosphere. Highly recommend it for hot yoga in Eugene.

This place takes advantage of people, they charge extremely high prices and if you can’t afford it they offer no form of help. If your going to run a place that is meant to help people in pain then you should be more understanding. They all have horrible attitudes as well, no one that works their cares about the yogi philosophy making it a terrible place to learn. The teachers are also completely random so you never know if your gonna get the lazy older ones or the super hyper younger ones making getting a consistent workout or benefit from there class almost impossible. Lastly the place is run by two people that only care about money and since they also run one in Portland you can tell they don’t care about this location and treat it like that, offering only 2 classes on some days. I love hot yoga but unless you wanna get bombarded by bad attitudes and lose a months paycheck I’d steer clear of this one!

Prior to discovering the Fountain of Awesome that is ZenSpot, I had never done any type of yoga before. I also happened to possess the athleticism of a block of concrete and not nearly as much flexibility as a cardboard cutout of Justin Bieber. Nonetheless, Kelli and Michael welcomed me with smiles, patience, and lots of encouragement and guidance.
It didn’t matter that I couldn’t hold poses for very long (or let’s be honest, at all) or was personally responsible for bumping up the humidity of the entire room with my gallons of sweat. No one is going to judge you or compete with you here; my classmates come in all ages, shapes, sizes, and skill levels. It doesn’t matter how much yoga cred you have, because Kelli and Michael dispense shout-​outs and support equally.
The studio itself is always tidy and the carpet should seriously have its own reality show titled «Eighth Wonder of the World» because it somehow stays and smells new despite the heat and humidity.
Hot yoga is one of the favorite parts of my day. This previously sedentary soul now practices 4 – 5 times a week, and as a result, I no longer resemble Justin Bieber OR a cardboard cutout. Well done, ZenSpot. Well done.

The best place to practice yoga in town! The owners are wonderful, both so supportive and motivating. Both Kelli and Michael take extra time for each one of their students to learn about them so they can help guide them in their practice.
I have had 7 surgeries, and have physical limitations that both Kelli and Michael are aware of. Both of them have taken time to help me modify & have helped me work through some physical limitations. Since I began in January of this year I have noticed amazing weight loss, toning, improvement in my immune system, and an overall increase of balance in my life. I have been able to push myself in ways I never could have the last 10 years.
The studio is kept clean, there is free parking, and prices are super reasonable! There is a range of class times, so I am able to fit it into my full time (plus lots of overtime) work & full time mom schedule.
