Nice lunch spot. They offer your favourite roll or a combination of sushi with a Bento Box for a slight upcharge. My only complaints would be uneven service and rice-heavy rolls with very little fish. Sometimes lunch is served with complimentary miso soup sometimes you are charged for it — I’m talking about coming back the very next day, ordering the same meal and being charged for items you were told came with the meal the day before. The shape and texture of the rolls suggest they aren’t rolled by hand and they are mostly CAC and rice, very little fresh or raw fish. The sashimi is thinner than you get in most other sushi places but the quality is very good and satisfactory for a light lunch. I recommend the house salad or side house salad it’s shaved cabbage with chopped carrots and a very nice ginger sesame dressing, I’m very fond of the salmon sashimi, salmon salad and soft shell crab.

I like this sushi restaurant specifically when I want to eat alone. Its quiet and no body bugs me! The staff is friendly and will assist you in anything you need, especially if you are newer or hesitant to order specific kinds of sushis. They usually only have on waiter on duty, and sometimes the poor kid can be running a little ragged. I have never gone with out, as whoever is there has always taken good care of me, but I worry for the day she/he gets slammed! I love raw salmon in my rolls, and back when I was pregnant the regular waitress working at the time and chef always made me a version of my favorite rolls with cooked salmon, since you can’t do the raw stuff when you’ve got a bun in the oven. I was always appreciative of their willingness to help a girl out! You can BYOB at this little hole in the wall or they have a complimentary two glasses of wine deal when you eat in house. They also have a smashing lunch bento box! For a small fee you can add any roll $ 7.99 and up to «the box» which comes with a miso soup, cabbage salad, two dumplings and edamame. This and a good book and I am golden! Don’t forget, they close from 2 for lunch and re-open for dinner at five!

Always good, I go with my girlfriend and my mom and each time we all three share the baby lobster and volcano rolls. We have been ordering them for four years and it’s always been the best sushi we have ever had. Even better than the higher priced places.

Don’t judge a book by its cover or you will miss out on some of the best sushi. I had baby lobster roll and the rainbow roll. The baby lobster roll was off the charts good. Next time I’m in town I will go out of my way to eat here.

They have a great bento box lunch special, I get it every time I come here. They have a wide variety of rolls which is great because I get to try something new every time. Never had a problem with the service the staff is always attentive and nice.

Blahh. Probably won’t go back. I’ve been here twice before. I didn’t have any complaints the 2 previous times and it was actually pretty good. However, it wasn’t anything special enough to return more than once a year and I live practically across the street. This time my fiancé and I were immediately seated. We each chose a roll that was more than $ 10.99 so that we could get the bento box deal. I also got a glass of free wine which is why I bumped up my rating from 2 to 3 stars. The servers were really nice, but the food was just okay. The fish on top of my Long Island roll was so «fishy» I peeled it all off which meant i peeled off all the sauces and toppings and was basically left with a $ 12.99 California roll. The Gyoza in my bento box were the best part of my meal they were hot and fresh, but my edamame were cold which was disappointing. My fiancé had the baby lobster roll and it wouldn’t stay together at all and was super hard to eat. We did switch from seaweed to soy paper, but typically at other restaurants it doesn’t cause the rolls to fall completely apart. He enjoyed his roll other than the frustration of it falling apart. He did not think the crawfish on top of his roll were fishy tasting, but I did. Overall the experience was just okay.

Décor: 4⁄5 –Open late, not terribly busy on a weeknight –Plenty of seating, all tables Service: 4⁄5 –Server seemed new yet friendly –Food felt like it took a while to come out Food: 4⁄5 –Tempura Shrimp was my favorite, it was light, clean tasting and savory. –Spider Roll has the classic crunchy texture however I felt something was missing, maybe it was the sauce that tasted different Overall 8/10, I would come back again and try their other rolls

I really enjoyed my meal here. The atmosphere was very relaxed and comfortable. I don’t eat sushi, but my family does. They loved their dishes! The menu was well organized with so much to choose from. I ordered bulgogi. I asked the waiter if it could be prepared spicy. The woman who prepared my meal came out to tell me that she was able to meet my request. What great personal service! The food was out of this world and greatly priced. Icing on the cake… you can BYOB! I’ll be back!

Our Aushi place. We come here almost every week. Always freah and great taste. Recommend the Samurai roll. Something warm on the middle of sushi rolls. Spicy yeallow tail is very good. Not too spicy just right. Tuna is our classic.

Love this place! We live in Southlake and have access to many sushi places. This by far trumps them all. Always fresh! Owners are the cooks and are always making sure everything is perfect.

My Husband and I went here after work on Monday. We live just down Glade and go to LavaGrille all the time, but for some reason kept putting off trying this place. I wish we had gone sooner. This place is definitely a steal if you dine in, the Bento Box special really is a wonderful deal and the gyoza was some of the best we had ever had! I got the Cowbow Roll Bento Box and my Husband got the Mr. Jumbo Bento Box. For the two of us for dinner is was about $ 25 and we got so much food! Their rolls are fresh and if you go when they are offering the Bento special just go ahead and do it. Also I will note everyone who worked there was super friendly! Nice touch for a sushi joint.

OMG! I have never had sushi this good!!! So many options, and I am usually very very modest and kind of afraid of sushi, so I got the number 51, which was soooo good! I got the upgrade to the box which included Miso soup(yum), edamame(yum), fried dumplings(YUM), a salad(yum), and my roll(#51, YUMMMM) ALL for $ 8.99! I was SO impressed, the food was sooo good! I don’t know how I’ll be able to go anywhere else for sushi now. The sweet mayo and crunch on the sushi were just unreal. I’m so full, and for the price, I mean, you couldn’t even get a combo at McDonalds for that. I would pay double for that meal. My boyfriend and I went for lunch, and service was also great! They were fairly busy, and we never even waited for a drink, or any of our food. HIGHLYRECOMMEND! I seriously won’t be going anywhere else for sushi, ever again.

The food was delicious. I had a mother daughters dinner date, and we had the California rolls, Bulgogi, Galbi, Spicy ramen, and miso soup… they were all great. We will return. Service was good, too.

I finally dined in here and tried a roll rather than just the sashimi. The inside is nicely setup and the lighting sets a good mood for sushi. In terms of sushi, I’ve had a good experience with the sake, eel, shrimp and tuna. The staff is very friendly. Updates: So I’m giving them 5 stars now for three reasons: Quality, value and diversity. Quality: They have good quality sashimi and rolls — not the best but still good. Value: If you dine in, this place is practically a steal. You can get a bento with your roll if it costs $ 10.99 or more. Along with that for every $ 10 you spend you get free — that’s right free — sake with it(limit up to two — but I mean who cares it’s free). Bring your own Kirin. Diversity: The menu options are vast and you can easily come here without getting the same thing. So for $ 12.99(cause I wanted a more premium roll) I got a bento, volcano roll and sake. If that’s not a good deal, I don’t know what is. Did I mention free sake and bento?

Lived nearby and have usually go to lava grill for catchup with friends or get the California roll made at market street. My husband still prefers tokyo one buffet since he likes sashimi, but I like rolls. Thanks to Unilocalers, dined here this evening. The place had a few patrons and fast service. We had the california rolls, dragon roll in bento box $ 12.99 and alexander roll $ 15.99, corn dog, 2 can soft drinks, banana egg roll with ice cream, vanilla ice cream, green tea ice cream. Total $ 59. Got a punch card. Get $ 10 off when u get 8 punches. only need $ 20 left If you are into sushi rolls then you will get most bang for your buck. Most placed go heavy on the rice ans skimpy on the crab salad and avacados… Not here. I love avocados and I got plenty. It was fresh tasting. Decent portions especially in bento box: a ginger shredded cabbage salad, 2 pc fried goyza(which had meat not just veggies), edamame, and miso soup. The negative comment is the miso soup was salty. I barely ate it. They did not offer any wine or sake as others had mentioned. I will be back for lunch which includ saturdays I am glad I gave this place a try since am always in the area. Chickfila in same shopping center. I will get the California roll without sesame seeds here for my daughter from now on. And make sure no white sauce on top since she did not like it. Pros: fast service, great portiond, fresh avacados and lots of crab meat Negative: miso soup salty; not enough picked ginger but she gave me more when I asked… I guess many peeps not eat it. i find that eating a picked ginger after each sushi dipped in soy and wasabi gives a kick and cleanse your palate

We had a great experience and for sushi we had an affordable tab. The food was great, the rolls were amazing, & the portions were too much. definitely recommended & will definitely be returning. and to our surprise the chef, also the owner, sent us a complimentary dessert of ice cream and fried bananas! And we had made up our minds abt returning prior to that nice gesture!

My only complaint is that the delicious sushi is so big it barely fits in my mouth! Coming from a Californian sushi snob, this place is heaven sent. The fish is fresh, the service is great(there’s even a button on your table to call the server), and the prices are amazing. Order a roll of 10.99(8.99 at lunch) or more and get a free bento box and a glass of wine or sake. This is my favorite sushi place!
