This is Euless’ little hidden gem. I can’t figure out why this restaurant isn’t packed all the time. Maybe people think it’s a private country club? I don’t know, but you’re a fool if you aren’t dining here frequently. One of the best parts about Raven’s Grille is the location– overlooking the beautiful Texas Star Gold Course! You have the option to eat inside, the garden room, or on the patio. They also have private rooms available for rent that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. The food here is fantastic! My family comes at least once a week, so it’s safe to say we are regulars. We have actually been eating at Raven’s Grille for many years(I remember watching the Stars play in the Stanley cup at this place to give you some sort of idea how long– what year was that?) My favorite dish is the chicken asada… Perfectly grilled & juicy chicken topped with roasted corn and onions, along with ensalada and black beans. YUM! Do yourself a favor and come in for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You won’t leave disappointed!

The Good: Wonderful setting overlooking a beautiful golf course. As far as the food, it’s pretty good — and very reasonably priced. The signature chicken fried steak is gigantic — will leave you stuffed. Now the bad: Service is terrible. Not only is it terrible, it’s incompetent. We came during for a Sunday brunch — a time when management must know is going to be busy. The 2 kids working the room were overwhelmed, over matched and just flat out unprepared for the job at hand. We sat for a good 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us, came over to ask us about an order, drinks — anything. But the good news is, our waitress had plenty of time to gab and chat with the table next to us — a table full of young girls who were clearly her friends… We had to finally flag somebody down, who of course said he wasn’t our waiter — would get us one… So we finally order, get some food and when asked, «is there anything else?» I replied that I’d like some A1 and Tobasco sauce. Well — after 20 more minutes and after flagging down yet ANOTHER person to ask them for the exact same thing — I finally get what I was originally asked about 20 minutes earlier. It was truly an unbelievable disaster in service and competence. To add insult to injury — the dormant ceiling fans were caked in an inch of dust. This falls on management — they have no control of what’s going on in their restaurant nor do they have any idea on how to manage a staff or setting.

Once again looking for a place to call my new, preferred joint to get Chicken Fried Steak, I found myself here. Couple people called my attention to it, and the pictures reviews looked pretty good so I ventured in for lunch awhile back. It’s in the front part of the Texas Star golf course clubhouse. Walk in, hostess stand, but there’s one room, big and open, feels like more of a clubhouse party room then a restaurant. There’s a nice, enclosed, air conditioned patio out the back doors where they seat as well, so if the big room doesn’t appeal to you I’m sure they will seat you out there. Me, I don’t care. Decorum is a distant second to the food for me. Service is good, takes a few minutes, I order my food and drink together, since I’ve already decided. CFS, garlic mashed pots, and fries. Good thing here, it’s nice, calm, and fairly quiet. Even get a few looks from the staff, kinda like«Who’s this guy? Never seen him before». I bet it’s a big«regulars» place. Kinda feels like it. Food comes out, and looks like the manager delivers a lot of the food. Everything looks good, CFS is a good size, not overcooked, and not over breaded. Everything tasted good, got some extra cream gravy to dunk fries in. But, here’s my usual letdown. The cream gravy is pretty tame. Had to grab salt and pepper several times. Now, I’m first to admit that it makes more sense to bland down the gravy, than to have people complaining it’s too peppery, or spicy. But seems like there isn’t anywhere doing anything but bland to tame gravy. I know one place that does a great gravy, but their CFS steak got worse, and worse and now sucks, and I usually mention this fact, so I had to bail on them awhile back. This place has a good CFS, no complaints. I never judge any new CFS place I got to badly on gravy alone. That’s a personal thing, and isn’t fair knocking it. The cream gravy is pretty good here, it’s just not seasoned very much for my tastes. So there, welcome to about 95% of the places I’ve gotten CFS at in the last few years. Raven’s is good, I plan on going back, especially since I asked, and found out they have a brown gravy. Now yer talkin’. Brings back fond childhood memories of Wyatt’s cafeteria and their glorious preformed CFS with brown gravy. I’ll be coming back at some time just to try that. It’s a nice place, with a pretty good sized menu and lots to offer.

Well… I expected better. The service was good and there was no wait. However the food stunk. We went for brunch and ordered eggs, hash browns, bacon, biscuits and gravy and eggs Benedict. Eggs didn’t taste like eggs, yes I just said that they tasted like water. The bacon was okay, flavorless. It’s bacon! How can that be?! Hash browns were frozen out of a bag and tasted like water. Eggs Benedict… had crab cakes. Very fishy and the English muffin was soggy. And finally the gravy… opened a can and put it in a cup. Cracker Barrel has better. The biscuits where good though. Not sure if they were homemade but whatever! Not sure if we’ll be back. If you can’t make a good breakfast how can you put out real food?

I like the Raven Grill. For a small up charge I added the extra grilled shrimp. Yummy ! We sat by the windows and watched the sun set over the golf course, be sure to bring your shades. My wife had green Chile Chicken it was wonderful. She and I shared the salad which was also very good. My friend had the Shiner Bock pork chops. It’s a nice thin cut and grilled perfect. The deserts were good too. I had the Cream Brûlée and we shared a slice of chocolate pecan cake with a dip of ice cream and three spoons. The Raven Grill is a nice quiet place for easy conversations and food. The menu is a little limited but that made it easy to make decisions and its all good.

Strike 2. I have eaten here with a group that gets together every month at different restaurants. The service is prompt and friendly but the food is short of «ok». My wife refused to finish her steak sandwich and my chicken sandwich lacked flavor. I have had the dry and tasteless CFS, the nacho’s look like Mt. St. Helens(after the blast). The food just seems that it would be better at a nice place like the Texas Star, but it’s not.

Summary(if you don’t want to read the following story): Great food, service went above and beyond to make the experience outstanding. Full story: My wife and I had our wedding reception at Texas Star, and for our first anniversary, we wanted to go back and have the same meal that we had then(apple cider chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables). This meal is only available on the catering menu, not on the regular one, so we called about a week in advance to ask them to make it for us, since it was our anniversary dinner. The manager, Scott, said that would be fine(he even remembered us after my wife mentioned that we were the couple who had butterbeer at our reception — yes, we’re nerds). When we got there, we were expecting just a normal dinner. However, they had set up a special table for us in the corner(I say special because it had a red tablecloth whereas all the others had white). Scott came to meet us himself, and even served us himself. The food was just as delicious as we remembered, especially the mashed potatoes. We weren’t planning on dessert, but Scott insisted, so we said we might have something to-go. He left and came back with two glasses of butterbeer, made the same way we had it at our wedding reception. My wife and I were completely floored — my wife had only made a comment about it when making the reservation. I had never experienced a restaurant going truly above and beyond to make my experience special until then. Best, most personalized service I’ve ever experienced.

A local restaurant in Euless and definitely a hidden gem. I brought some of my family members here for lunch. It was busy but we were seated quickly. We started off with the onion rings which came with a side of the horseradish sauce. These onion rings were so huge! The batter on the onion was very flavorful and the sauce was perfect with these. I ordered the chicken tenders as my meal. The chicken tenders were so freaking good along with the mashed potato/gravy I ordered as my side. Another person ordered the double barrel chicken fried steak. Of course I had to try some and it had to be the best CFS I’ve had. It was so flavorful and there was plenty of meat. I was able to try the chicken asada wrap that was ordered at the table and it was really good. I didn’t get to try the catfish though but they sure don’t skimp on the meats here. All our meals were so huge that we all had to take some of it home. Service was really good and our waiter was very attentive. We really enjoyed ourselves here and I can’t wait to go back to sit on the patio with the view of the golf course.

This place is definitely a hidden gem that is really good. We started off with the onion rings, and they were BIG! The horseradish sauce was a nice touch. They are known for their chicken fried steak, someone at the table ordered the double chicken fried steak. Wow! That thing was bigger than our heads, but I had to sample it. It was pretty good, melted in your mouth good. I ordered the grilled chicken asada wrap with sweet potato fries. The chicken was not dry and had a ton of flavor. Chicken tenders and fried catfish were ordered at the table, they were both really good. The fried okra was a bit on the greasy side. Our service was really good. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area because prices were decent. We all were so full that we all took food home with us. Now I wonder if someone can eat the whole cfs because it was huge.

One word… Horrible. Chicken fried chicken was an indistinguishable pile of burnt crust. Should have sent it back. Mashed potatoes with gravy was excellent. Fried okra came from a freezer bag. Service was OK. Food terrible. Will not be back.

This is the best chicken fried steak in Texas. I’ve lived innTexas 67 years and had CFS at all the places you heard about. There is none better than the Raven.

Shhhh… don’t tell too many people about this great lunch spot with a view in Euless! This restaurant overlooks a gorgeous green golf course, a nice change of scenery from the surrounding suburban spawl. Don’t panic if you drive up and see a jam-packed parking lot — most of the vehicles belong to golfers, and it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s a long wait to eat. Pull into one of the close-in parking spaces reserved for Raven’s Grille customers. The double-barrel chicken fried steak sounds like a classic Texas lunch, and it’s fun to watch everyone gape as the beast is dropped off at your table like the brontosaurus burger in the Flintstones. Other than the wow factor, though, I’m not a big fan, as the breading is way too thick for me. I do enjoy almost all of their other entries, however, such as the great lunch salads — get the Texas size if you’re hungry and the Star size if you want just a small bite. Crab cake sliders are fantastic. Choose the fried okra for your side if it’s available with your meal. Did I mention the great view? You can even eat on the outdoor patio if it’s a nice day. Service is efficient and friendly. Reasonable lunch prices.

One of our favorite places to eat. I would have never thought to go to the golf course. Growing up, golf course food was burgers and beer without much effort. Texas Star is anything but. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. They have everything from burgers to steaks and seafood. I always enjoy the blue cheese burger, the chicken fried steak or the crab cakes. This is a hidden gem that you should put on your list to check out.

What a great place to dine, the first time we came we ate inside the main dining room, the food was great and the service good. We came again for an evening meal and were surprised to find they had a Happy Hour on their outdoor patio with live music. Enjoyed both times, will be back.

i am almost hesitant to post a review because this is a great place that nobody seems to know about. when we want a nice quiet dinner that we know is going to hit the spot, or i am craving a chicken fried steak the size of my torso, we head over to the raven’s grille. do yourself a favor and get the double barrel chicken fried steak and a doggie bag.

Yum! I enjoy the food here. Is a little pricey but well worth it. The johnson salad is great, the burger is delish and the chicken fried steak is huge! A must go to! You might even see Euless-celebs like the Mayor or the Chief of Police! :) Their menu —
