They have excellent food. The homemade mashed taters was awesome and so was the chopped steak. I had a mushroom and swiss hamburger which was cooked perfectly and the veggies were fresh. The restaurant was spotless, the waitresses were friendly and very cute(besides the point, I know) and they are helpful. Highly recommend this place to everyone.

I visited Texan Kitchen for the first time in abiout one year. I requested a classic hamburger as I have many times before. The food took longer to arrive than I remember, but I hoped the extended wait would be worth it. Instead of a fresh, hand formed patty on a tasty baked bun, I received a machine formed beef-like burger on a bun you find at lower rate restaurants. I didn’t mind the smaller portion of fries, but others might feel a little cheated. If burger quality diminished this much in one year, I have to believe the rest of the menu did too. I wont return.

A coworker and I had lunch here today, and we’ll be back. Everyone was so friendly, my pot-roast, salad and okra were delicious, and I’m about to sample a piece of blueberry cream pie I brought back to work with me. We plan on trying everything on the menu. It’s hard to find a place to get our veggies and other healthy meal choices, this close. Not only these points, but we felt like we were in a quaint Texas town on an excursion rather than taking a break from work. Their friendliness, homey décor and atmosphere add to the lure of this place. They have live music, too so this would be a nice happy hour destination! Try it out; I’m pretty sure you won’t regret it!

I’ve seen this place for quite a while and decided to give it a try. Very disappointed. I arrived at 6:30 and there were only 3 cars parked near the front door. I was glad they weren’t busy, but that should have been my first clue. When I stepped inside I was overpowered by a horrible smell. I don’t know what it was, but the place stunk. Very strong stench. I stood by the cashier stand for a few minutes but no one came to seat me. Finally a lady sitting in a both said to just sit anywhere. The place was dead. Only three other people there to eat. This should have been clue number two. Finally a lady came to take my order. I almost lost my appetite. She was covered with tattoos and piercings. She had tattoos on her arms, hands, wrists, neck, face, and back. Yes, she was showing enough skin to see the tattoos on her upper and lower back. Piercings were on her ears, eyebrows, nose, lips, and tongue. One was inflamed and appeared infected. I ordered the chicken fried steak with corn. First came the salad. Two pieces of lettuce and a croûton on top is their version of a salad. The children fried steak was horrible. No taste to it at all. The corn was mushy and cold. It was obvious it was out of a can. With a name like Texan Kitchen, I expected more than canned food with a bad taste. I really wanted to like this place and hoped it was going to be good, but it wasn’t. When I went to pay, my bill was $ 7.04 including tax. I gave the cashier $ 10.04. She grabbed a calculator to figure my change. Really?! You got to be kidding. A third grader could subtract seven from ten and get the right answer. I guess the cashier thought seven years of education would suffice her for life. This place is a joke. They will be out of business soon if they don’t get more customers. I won’t be back.

I wanted to like this place. Looked like a fun local joint. A friend and I went on a Friday night and ordered a couple of plate lunches — chicken fried steak and liver and onions and pie. All of it was AWFUL!!! Vegetables from a can, thick brown gravy that had a twang to it, and the pie was dreadful. When I can’t eat pie, there is something wrong. Aside from the food, there were roaches running down the wall next to our booth and I can’t stand that! Don’t sit next to the walls and you might not notice them. We could not get out of there fast enough. On the other hand, there was a table of about 15 elderly customers who were really enjoying the kareoke night so someone liked the food. It just won’t be me.

The chicken fried steak was ok. Okra needed seasoning. My husband gave it a two, but I am more generous. I don’t regret going, but probably won’t be back except maybe to give breakfast a shot. Live karaōke on Saturdays, it seems. Good if you like old country.

Too bad. So much wasted potential. First off the band was terrific this Friday evening. The crowd was enthusiastic and upbeat. Unfortunately the restaurant was not prepared for all the new customers who showed up after a recent positive review in the local newspaper. Wait staff was spread entirely too thinly to even begin to cope with hungry customers. Some items were not available. Food orders took over an hour to be taken. Promised rolls and salads never showed up. Drinks were not refilled in a timely way, or even at all. No condiments were offered or apparently even available, like catsup for hamburgers or tartar sauce for fish. Cutlery was not clean. Food. The food. How to begin? When it finally arrived after we had been in the restaurant about one and a half hours, we had mixed feelings. His meatloaf was almost burned though it was covered with a sauce. His mac and cheese(one of the special sides of the day)…oh my. Could it be from a can like my green beans? They seem to do better with fried things, like my chicken fried chicken or the okra, but by then, I was hungry! The music was great, but it was a hard way to have to listen to it. I wonder how many will return next Friday evening?

Server was friendly. Burger was over seasoned, fries sucked, catfish was thin and over breaded. I hear their brunch is good, must be what is keeping the doors open.

Sunday night dinner was very good. This seems like a small local diner style place. Server was very pleasant and took good care of us. I had the small chicken fried steak and it was great. Beans and corn were also good. Another had the turkey and dressing and was happy. The rolls and cornbread were fresh and hot.

We live very close to the restaurant and had tried it about 3 years ago and didn’t care for it. They have since changed ownership, and when we gave it another try we were very happy. We have returned several times for the chicken fried steak, which is excellent … and we are picky about our CFS. The chef salad is also good, with homemade Ranch dressing, another big plus in my book! They cook an excellent breakfast which is served all day, except for the pancakes, which I believe the waitress said are not available after 1:00 p.m. Prices are good. The senior breakfast is an unbelievable bargain. Service is good to great, depending. The only disappointment we’ve had was a Tex-Mex appetizer one evening, which seemed«held over». Everything else we’ve had gets an «A». We eat out a lot, and it’s nice to have a good home cooking restaurant in the neighborhood. I don’t know when the restaurant changed hands, but maybe it’s since some of these bad reviews were written. Can’t say for sure, but that might explain it.

I am really shocked to see some of the previous reviews as I LOVE this place. I frequent breakfast here. My food is ALWAYS perfect. The staff takes wonderful care of us… Can’t say I’ve come for dinner but the place is always packed for breakfast and I highly recommend it…

I have been to this place about 3 times. The first time we had the cheeseburgers and they were fine if you like a lot of bread. Our waiter was good. It was at lunch and not too many there. The next time was on Valentines. They were having some sort of Valentines/karaōke party and one short chubby waitress was running around in a tutu. Don’t know what that was about but it was certainly unprofessional. We were told that the karaōke was a regular event. I had the catfish which was good except for their terrible tarter? sauce that was made out of ranch??? Never heard of that one before but don’t try it. It is awful. My husband had their meatloaf which he said was the worst that he had ever had. The green beans were frozen and mushy. We were looking for a place to go on Friday night and had been told that they had a band on Fridays so we thought we would give them one last chance. They were having another party and the place was almost full. We were seated to the side and had a club sandwich which was good and a chicken fried steak which was okay but not the best that I have had. Before we received our food a lady came over and said, «I’m not asking you to leave but we are having a birthday party and I wanted to let you know that you are welcome to participate.» We felt like we needed to vacate our table as they were running out of space and it appeared that she WAS asking us to leave. The band was already playing and in between songs one of the band members asked for donations to buy some tool for one of the band members. Donations? for a tool? Give me a break! We quickly finished our meal and left. Now, we have been told that their breakfast is good. Not sure that I am up to having breakfast served by a tutu or having to dig into my pockets to make a donation. I noticed on Friday night she wasn’t wearing the tutu. Who knows, the next donation may be for the missing tutu. They seem to have a lot of parties and not too much time for just the regular walk in customers.

Ive eaten here a few times. and here is the review composite of all visits. Breakfast is prepared perfect, cooks know whats going on. Food is great at a great price. Restaurant on cold days they have no heat, too cold to enjoy a meal even after complaining. Service is unprofessional disorganized, and poor. I am the one that overlooks bad service reviews. Great food!

Pretty new to the area, was looking for a place to go eat. Saw this place and decided to give it a try. The food is reasonably priced and you get a ton. They advertise home cooking and believe me they deliver. This was on par to what my grandma her self made… I am for sure a fan. The service was friendly and efficient, our server David ensured that we constantly had drinks and checked on us without being too over bearing. Loved it!

I wanted to like this place. The interior is really clean. Friendly staff. At 5:30 pm there was hardly a soul there which ought to have been a warning to me. I go a stuffed cabbage dinner and two pieces of pie to go. Soup: Belgian Chicken. This was like a thick chicken gravy with a lot of salt. I didn’t care for it. It struck me more as gravy than soup. The stuffed cabbage itself was decent but nothing I would make a special trip to get again. Mashed potatoes were so full of chicken stock and butter that you could hardly identify the potatoes. Corn was from a can but that’s exactly what I was expecting and what I wanted. Pie: I was so excited about pie. I wanted to love the pie. Lemon pie had scarcely any lemon flavor. It was a fluffy cream with a hint of lemon. Coconut pie was decent. There was a touch too much salt in the crust which affected the overall enjoyability factor. Would I go again? I don’t think I would.

This is actually on Main Street in Euless. The map didn’t orient correctly. It looks like a good hardy homey breakfast kind of place. But this joint misses the mark on so many levels. I ordered the Mexican omlete and it was overloaded with not so fresh onions and topped with canned chili. I know hormel when I taste it. The coffee was insipid. Avoid this place unless you have no taste buds and just want something to cram in your gob.

Found this little gem, even though Unilocal doesn’t have it listed correctly. It is the former location of the American Café. Anyhow, very pleasant environment and the food was good. Nothing fancy, just the way I like it. Dinner, with salad & rolls, drink and dessert = $ 14.78. They have entertainment a couple nights of the week. The correct information is: Texan Kitchen 415 Main Street Euless TX76039 (817) 358‑1787
