We came across this place by accident. When we went into the fort area, all the offices were closed. Two of the buildings were open to tour through. There was no free and lots of markers show in former building locations. The login display is excellent. Everything from trains, rail tracks, and heavy machinery. You can’t do anything better for free. Don’t forget to take you coat, as this location sits on a hill and is very windy and cold

Sacramento, CA
Sadly, this amazing piece of History is closing at the end of July. This part is great for a ride behind a real steam locomotive, flying kites and imagining the world before industry. I hope people get out and see it before its closed!
