I’ve been taking my shoes to Grundman’s for many years, at least 20. I’ve always been highly satisfied with the work performed. The owner works alone, so there can be a bit of a wait. However, quality results are always worth it. I love the shop and its kind, quiet and helpful proprietor!

This is addressed in part to the woman who took her purse strap in and was critical of Mr. Grundman telling her it would be several weeks… well, you are not the most important person in the world, so get over your narcissism and self-importance. A lot of us have been waiting for several weeks at a time to get our shoes/boots/whatever back from him, for many years. He is an older man who has no one helping him at all. He is very honest, works hard, and always has one’s belongings ready on the date he sets. If I were overwhelmed with work, I would feel I could charge an adequate amount, as well. He always does skilled work, and is justifiably proud of his efforts.

Turn-around is not quick, but he does excellent work. We tried several Humboldt cobblers before finding Grundman’ and he’s the best locally and prices are very good. Just realize it will be a wait of several weeks. We’ve had men’s soles and heels replaced and repaired. We’ve always been happy with the work done! It’s the only place we go now.

I was a fan of his work for a year or so until I was two weeks to leaving and my favorite purse broke. The handle just need to be stitched back to the purse, nothing way crazy. I too, it to him and he told me itd be like 6 – 8 weeks and $ 30. I told him I was leaving in 2 weeks was there anyway it could be done faster. He told me basically fat chance. I asked if he knew of another place that could do it quicker and was informed none that would be poor work and a waste of my time. I ended up taking my purse to a place in fortuna, they had it done in 3 days for $ 5 and 4 months later there is no sign that it’s going to break again. I will never recommend Grundmans to anyone I know ever again.
