Had a great experience today at Jo-Ann Fabrics. I signed up for text alerts for their coupons and had one ready(40%) to show the clerk. When I got to the register, the cashier(Pauline or Paulette) said there was a 60% off coupon available on their website. Found it quickly, received my discount and I was on my way. She was extremely personable and cared that I got the best deal. I would have given 5 stars but the line was REALLY long(Halloween always is a busy time) & there was only one clerk ringing people up.

This chain location is an odd mix of fabric, crafts and seasonal accessories. There is pretty much a little bit of everything home décor related here. I have found everything from seat cushion replacement foam to fishing lure feathers. There is a pretty nice art and paints selection as well. I have always been able to find either exactly I was looking for or a suitable substitute that worked. There always seems to be a personnel shortage and my experiences have always been a self-service situation so I rarely encounter employees except for getting something cut to length or check out. Waiting to have something cut can be interesting if they are busy, I’ve found that I usually don’t go in if the parking lot is more than half full or the weekends. Check out is what it is, it’s usually understaffed and I’ve stood and waited for someone to appear more than once which I find odd that no one tends the register regularly. Customer service is secondary at this store. Comparative to other options this place is as good as any for what it provides if your expectations are not to high. I shop here as I need to and do so instead of online to help support our local economy and business. To bad the customer service is lacking at a chain location that obviously the local community wants to trade with and support. Just average 2.5 Stars — rounded up instead of down for community support. 286

The worst customer service ever! I’ll never go back… my husband was accused of stealing a small bottle of paint, told the rude girl we put it back on shelf she actually went to see if we really did, I told her off and walked out! Go to michaels it’s way better!!!

Every time I come in here there is a long wait at the register. They have 4 terminals but only one person working with a line of 10 people. I know employees need to have breaks but they need to have employees covering the registers. Customers were getting frustrated and some even put their stuff down and walked out. Shopping online is becoming more and more appealing to me when this keeps going on.

I have had repeatedly terrible service at this location. Yesterday I went in and there was no one working the cutting counter. I took a number and I waited for someone to come. 3 workers came by and no one helped me. I am not impatient, but this was bad. I just set my stuff on the counter and left. I don’t think that I will be going back. I can get better prices on-line and there are other smaller shops with better service.

Worst check-out clerk I’ve ever dealt with. Challenged me on a 25% off order plainly marked in the department from which I chose my purchase; claimed that meant 25% off with a coupon; I said, no, the signs said just 25% off; he said, well let’s go check on that; left the cash register with product in his hand; I pointed out the signs that clearly said 25% off the entire category; he still wanted to argue, ended up going somewhere – with my purchase still in his hand – leaving the cash register totally unattended; lady behind me in line said isn’t anybody here? I said, he’s over there, hasn’t got a clue; she left and took her selections with her(without paying). .. so what I want to know is, why does this JoAnn’s think they’re going to make a profit with such an incompetent clerk at the check-out register?
