Amazing Oysters, heard about this place from a friend at work and from Washington DC. Great atmosphere and Bartenders are very friendly

Highly recommend 4 out of 6 of their raw oysters! Killer local beers on tap & really kick back atmosphere. The ascetics of this place rock!

I think the ratings speak for themselves… Not sure what else to say… Great service awesome ambiance! I guess I would say I wish they had more a variety of beers but the oyster player definitely mad up for it, and the sausage plate. Recommended definitely!

We loved our wine/beer flights! Also enjoyed our oysters. The staff was extremely friendly, they helped us locate great things to do in the rainy weather along with sharing about the local glass blower. This is a great concept and needs to be duplicated in more areas! Keep up the great work!

Taste is a great addition to Humboldt county. As a visiting HSU alumni it’s a charming place to stop by and get samplers of some of Humboldt County’s best. There’s plenty of wine and beer flights available or you can order by the glass/pint. My boyfriend and I tried all the grilled oysters and I highly recommend trying THEMALL. My favorite was probably the Kyoto which are Asian inspired. All of the oysters were packed with fresh favors and had unique ingredients that I’ve never seen before and we ended up ordering more. I would definitely make an effort to come back.

Nice spot to grab oysters and have a drink. I also see they sell oysters to go 12⁄12 $ or 50⁄40 $. Heads up your expected to order at the bar, so don’t wait around for service.

Was here 11÷8÷15 @06:30. Service was rushed and inattentive even though the bar was empty. Actual service was pathetic and rude. The oysters where good and cheese platter was very above par. Beer and wine where adequate. Place is lovely in a bit of a desolate surrounding. Sorry but I can’t recommend this place due to the over the top I don’t care service. I don’t ask for much but this was a slap in the face.

Food was great, service was AWFUL! The 2 girls working there were rude, one girl was on her phone and hardly acknowledged us, and when taking our order spoke so quickly we hardly understood her. She also put our order so far away, we had to reach out and take our own tray. Sadly the service was so bad, I’d never come back, and I’ll tell my friends and family the same.

My favorite place to go in Humboldt. Clean, friendly staff and fantastic Oysters and beer. I suggest the mad river steelhead and the traditional oysters. Great place!

This is a great little oyster bar in Old Town Eureka. It’s also the Humboldt Bay Tourism Center. I was impressed by the fast service, great oysters and all LOCAL beers, wines and cider. Really great selection and would be a fun introduction to Humboldt for anyone visiting. Great prices for everything, pint of beer for $ 5 and oysters for $ 2 or $ 3.(you can also buy raw oysters to take home with you at $ 1 each) Friendly vibe in the bar. Beautiful and interesting wooden bar and tables and cool Humboldt logging inspired light fixtures. You can tell a lot of work went into making this place represent our locale. The one thing I didn’t like is that there is a wall of 3TVS and iPads that are supposed to display tourism info but… I found them to be distracting and a bit tacky. I was more drawn to the artistically done advertisements featured on the wall above them. I think those and the pamphlets offer more info… I mean, most people have smart phones and would be able to look up their next stop on their trip there… I just found it to be a little much. Besides that, nice little selection of locally made food and products. Will for sure be coming back again for happy hour and oysters!

45 minute wait time for personal pizza, couldn’t eat it due to way to much garlic, complaining fell on deaf ears, our response to inedible pizza was«because we weren’t from humbolt you don’t understand how much garlic we put on pizza» I would have to disagree I have eaten at Paul’s New York pizza many times and it was edible every time. Unless you’re from humbolt don’t go to the tourism center lol

The service was fantastic! Felicia helped me and she was more than happy to explain the concept of the establishment, and the brews that they carried. The oysters were amazing, I only got two of the hot ones and I wish I would have ordered the platter to try all of the raw oysters that they served. I ordered the fruit and cheese platter, which typically comes with a croissant, but they were more than willing to substitute it for olives(since I can’t have bread). The ciders were great too! It wasn’t a whole lot of food, but I left full; and will definitely be back!

Awesome atmosphere, informative and friendly staff, good brew and wine. The macadamia nut porter is the best beer I’ve ever had.

Brilliant concept! A restaurant and wine/beer bar dedicated to local products combined with a tourism center. Educate yourself on the region while you literally taste it. Hook up with a variety of tours and activities. It is also very well executed; service is professional and friendly. I would love to find more places like this!

Love the selection of local beer/wine. Oyster bar and selection available is on par! This is such a great concept for a tourist/info spot as well as a place for me to just come and be and get my work done while enjoying a local cheese plate with local beer. Interior space is BEAUTIFUL and the service is great. Everyone new to the area should come here. And even if you’re not new to Humboldt… a must.

Love this place. Oysters are $ 2 – 3 each and absolutely fresh and fantastic. It’s all about the oysters and local champagne…

Great mix of local beer, oysters, and great stuff for sale from the area. I’ve never seen a bar and tourism center so thoroughly integrated and also able to work independently. Come in for a drink and oysters or just to see all to do in the area

Most amazing place in Old Town Eureka! Great service, tasty foods and everything is local which is aaaaamazing! Had a beer flight, cheese plate, local sausage plate, sampling of the raw oysters and a veggie platter. Everything was fresh and delicious! The oysters were sooo good and the hummus on the veggie platter was super tasty. The little retail shop is adorable and has great info on local tourism.
