Awesome place to grab a sandwich during a road trip. Portions are large, ingredients are fresh, and the owner was really kind. He even gave me a free sample of their smoothies! BBQ pork sandwich is a winning option.

Sandwich was dry and it cost $ 12.00. I keep going hoping for the best. I think I give up.

I went today for the first time after years of curiousity and I’m so mad that I’ve been missing out all this time. The owner recommended the pulled pork and it was awesome! Everything is so fresh. Also got the strawberry boba smoothie and he threw in some banana and pomegranate juice. It was a really good combo :) service was friendly and fast, definitely recommend !

I just need to give a shout out to my FAVORITE place in Eureka — I travel all over California and get to travel through Eureka once a year and I make sure that I always stop at least once at my very favorite «fast food» place in the world — the sandwiches are absolutely scrumptious — the smoked meats (I recommend them ALL — can’t decide which is my favorite), and the generous portion of condiments (shredded carrots, cucumber and cilantro) make it a huge healthy treat. I love the barbecue sauce too and the soft on the inside crispy on the outside bun is also delicious! No matter what you order I can promise you that you won’t be disappointed, and like me you’ll make this a «must stop» on your itinerary when traveling north on highway 101 — thanks Z & J for the highlight of my trip every year. You guys are great!

My boyfriend and I are in Eureka for the weekend and decided to try this place. We love Vietnamese sandwiches so we were super excited to see they have that here. We ordered the chicken sub and BBQ pork sub. It was not good AT ALL. It was smother with sauce that tasted like BBQ sauce mixed with chili sauce. I’ve tried many different Vietnamese sandwiches from Sacramento, Oakland and Redding. These sandwiches were the WORST. We literally took one bite and threw it away and had to order dinner from a different place. After reading people’s reviews and seeing them write about how good this place is, all I have to say is they need to try Vietnamese sandwiches from the Bay Area and they will taste the authentic-​ness of the sandwiches.

Oh thank you Vietnamese poboy! This place crushes! Sometimes the hot chili peppers taste funky, but could be just me.

I pick up a boba smoothie here so often that I’ve become a regular that they know, which I absolutely love. The boba in their drinks is so fresh and delicious, the real fresh fruit is refreshing, and the ability to customize your order (say with soy milk or popping boba, etc etc) is awesome. And that’s without mentioning their sandwiches! The flavors of their marinated veggies are just to die for. I just love this little shop, as if the super cute t-​shirt of theirs that I got wasn’t evidence enough.

I don’t know what all the hype is about this place. Ordered 2 full size subs, one tofu and one prime rib. On the tofu sub there were only 4 thin slices of tofu and a huge serving of carrots, pretty much the same on the prime rib, hardly any meat and a ton of carrots. If I were a rabbit it would be okay, but I’m not. Also there was a strange taste on the veggies, like soap. Over $ 20 for 2 carrot sandwiches.

Amazingly delicious sandwiches! I have never been let down by their taste large size or price. The boba Thai tea is also amazing.

This is, undoubtedly the gest sandwich I will ever have! Although I had to give them up on a regular basis since I moved away from Humboldt… but now, any excuse I have to get up that way, or go through Humboldt, I’m always game because I can get my pork sandwich spicy, on the BEST bread. The owner is always friendly and I’m thrilled he has been successful. If you ever think about making it a chain, you should test another one out in Placerville! Love tge, food, thank you for creating such an awesome meal that c an be eaten on the road!

I Really like this place. Got the smoked chicken spicy sub w havarti cheese and avocado and a Thai tea. Sand which was amazing Thai tea could’ve been better. Pricey but worth it.

For a SMALL chicken salad and a small bobs tea it was 15 $? Then the lady forgot my avocado, and when she did put it on (after I reversed my car) she gave me a rock hard half of an avo ewe. Salad was dry with no flavor and the dressing was not what I expected for Chinese chicken salad. It was more of a thick peanut sauce. Ewe

Wow the food is just so amazing here, it is still making me home sick for socal. The owners are nice and the husband takes great pride and care of his smoked meat & prime rib. he actually gave me a sample and I will be back tomorrow for that prime rib… relish. the yummieness… It is far healthier to eat here than fast food and you pay the same price.
I highly recommend this place. I can’t wait to buy and share the large prime rib with my friends tomorrow.

Tiny little drive-​up, but delicious sandwich and bubble tea! We split a prime rib sandwich with avocado and I got a honeydew bubble tea. If you’re eating on the road, the carrots get a bit messy and can fall all over you. One sandwich was enough to split between 2 people, especially with a bubble tea on the side.
A little pricey for a sandwich, but very fresh and loaded with veggies. I’d definitely visit again.

Thank you Unilocalers for the reviews… Really loved my sub from Z&J Asian Subs the other day. In fact, I might just drive thru again after I wrap up on this review! I decided for my first order to go with tofu to be on the safe side before there was nothing safe about it. It was super delicious and the flavors were sooooo good! Totally enjoyed my large sub though it took me the whole day to finish it. Loved loved the carrots and cilantro. Everything tasted so fresh and clean. Now I have to try the pulled pork. At first the menu is a bit overwhelming so just relax and take your time… but basically the breakdown is size, meat, all veggies (or explain what you want in or out), level of sauce heat, mild to spicy… and you will be asked if you want avocado or cheese. Since to me this is like a Vietnamese banh mi, I opted out of the avocado and cheese but they are good options to have.
I ended my order with a green tea boboa (fabulous).
Yes I splurged and had zero regrets!

Came here for lunch and my friends and I were surprised that it’s a drive-​thru. I shared the large chicken sub. It’s similar to a banh mi, but not. I didn’t like the bread nor did I feel as if the BBQ sauce went with the sub. The vegetables were fresh though.

The good: The food, the drinks/​smoothies, the coffee, drive thru, and the employees are friendly and fun.
The bad: Like most decent restaurants in Humboldt, VERY OVERPRICED. I would eat here more often if I didn’t feel like I was getting ripped off every time. Bahn mi sandwiches shouldn’t be more than $ 4, especially considering its a drive-​through!
The food is good, but It’s so overpriced that I couldn’t bring myself to give it 4 stars.

Amazing BBQ beef sub with an Asian twist. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. The honeydew melon boba tea was also spectacular. If I’m ever back in Northern California I’m definitely stopping here!

I love this place!!! It reminds me of the bay every time I go, so it makes for a wonderful treat. They definitely do a good job on the pickled carrots and cilantro and I love their menu options. Even their vegetarian sandwich is fantastic! They have the best boba tea in town and I would recommend this to anyone. I definitely enjoy their portion size and have made one sandwich last me all day. I recommend to anyone!

My new favorite place for subs. The two of us ordered a large bbq beef sub that was more than enough for sharing. ($ 10, well worth it, they were huge!) The bread was good, beef was great, veggies were fresh but what made the sandwich was the amazing sauce, which they make themselves.
The man at the window (I’m assuming is the owner) was very friendly and easy to talk to. It was nice he acknowledged and talked to us while we waited instead of closing the window until our food was ready.
Didn’t purchase any smoothies but the owner gave us a sample that had us excited to come back!
