We decided to eat here because of our love of pizza. We were not disappointed. The waitress was quick and attentive and ensured we had all the drink we wanted. We decided to order a white pizza. It was delicious. Everyone cleaned their plates in no time. The only downside was there was none for me to take to work the next day for lunch! The price was right, the service was good, and our bellies were happy. We will definitely be going back.

We just moved to the area and thought we would check it out. I would describe the place as a dive bar that sells Italian food. We were seated and ordered drinks. After that, everything went down hill. Our waitress disappeared for 30 minutes. When she returned to the floor, she seemed preoccupied with hanging out at the bar, so I decided to go pay for our drinks and leave. I could understand if the place was packed, but they were at about 30% capacity. I’ll never know if the food was good, because I’m not coming back.

Wow. I really wanted this place to be good. We could use an honest-to-God pizzeria on this side of town. Went on a Sunday evening, place was about 20 percent full. Still took more than 30 min for our order to come from the kitchen. Thankfully, they had coloring pages for the kids to try and keep them occupied. The pizza dough must be frozen. I would expect a ‘New York style pizzeria’ to have big, floppy slices with a good crunchy crust. Instead, the slices are limp and soggy — no structure for folding whatsoever. Frozen, thawed pizza dough has this characteristic. The mushrooms for a topping were right out of a Green Giant can — soggy and tinny. Something was off with the fountain drinks as well — wondering when the last time they cleaned their dispensing lines. For the non-pizza offerings, my daughter had the pasta. She liked the meatball. Looked like far too much sauce for the pasta. All — in– all, the only benefit of the night was the chance to spend some time with my family after a weekend of working tough, long hours. The waitress was extremely good — that got this joint an extra star. I should’ve picked up some Papa Johns and gone to a park. The crust would’ve been better, and the ingredients would’ve been fresher. If you’re looking for authentic New York style pizza, look elsewhere — this is far from it Also — $ 2.25 for a kid’s drink is just obnoxious

Wow. We took a chance and got burned. We really wanted this to be our local place to eat as we live right around the corner. We walked in and were the ONLY people in the restaurant. However, despite being the ONLY customers, it was absolutely painful for the wait staff to acknowledge us. Drinks were wrong, food was wrong(when it finally came out)…and that was after waiting FOREVER just to get someone to take our order. When the correct food finally did come out, it was great! It’s so painful that this place has the potential to be great but because the service is so horrible… we won’t ever be back.

I can only speak to their pizza, but it is awesome! We have had it three times. We always so takeout, though, so we’ve never done in-restaurant.

Well, fast forward a year and I am happy to report that this place has not changed one bit. Still no appearance to have a manager of any sort. Staff are always changing and seem to forget that their customers are seated at a table. Recently, was told a pizza we ordered would take 15 minutes. We started the timer…34 minutes later the pizza arrived. Luckily, they still have the Scotch Ale, so we had that to take our mind off our hunger. If you look at the other Unilocal reviews you will notice that… well, there aren’t any… especially recent ones. This is a place that could be amazing if it was run correctly. How do I know… because I ran a VERY successful Italian restaurant in California. It is a shame to see such an opportunity go to waste. The staff are clearly untrained… or rather trained by others who they themselves were untrained. And, do not get me started on the absolutely horrible calamari that they serve. When I first started coming here in 2014 the calamari was not to be missed. Now, I would not feed it to my cat… again, probably sourced from the lowest bidder AND go on the fact that«locals» do not know any better when it comes to their palates. Which is rude and demeaning as I have dined with plenty of locals at restaurants where the food it good and the service is even better. If you need a pizza, live in the Riverwood Plantation and don’t want to travel far… roll the dice, order a pizza… and PICKITUP…

I wish i could give this place a good review but i cant. The food is good but it takes forever to get it when you eat there… then when you order pizza to go… thats the worst. I gave this place 3 tries and now i wont be ordering from them anymore. 2 of the 3 times i ordered to go my order was forgotten about when i came to pick it up then the 3rd time when i got there they told me they dropped the pizza and had to remake it. This place needs new management! Also, dont advertise that you deliver when you dont.

Went a year ago and there was beard hairs cooked in my pizza. Got a refund and went back a year later hoping they had better practices. This time it was a piece of long curly hair on top of pizza. Seriously??? Obviously not much has changed. They need to pull their hair back and wear a hair net in the back. Food pretty good otherwise.

Very solid food, good service, but they really need to serve alcohol other than wine & beer

I really want Armando’s to be something better than it is, but at the end of the day, it’s a middle-of-the-road restaurant. The pizza, calzones, and sandwiches are really good, but the service just brings them down a notch. My family has been to this location many times out of convenience(maybe a 3 minute drive from home), but we always end up frustrated with how long we wait for everything. Not just waiting for a pizza to be fresh cooked, either — drinks, simple appetizers, salads, etc. On the plus side, we saw some fresh faces waiting the tables on our most recent visit, and there seemed to be some extra pep in their step. That didn’t do much to fix the kitchen issues, but it’s certainly a start. Armando’s is best when you have some friends along that you REALLY want to spend time catching up with — you’ll have a good long time to chat while you wait for dinner. It’s also pretty solid if you live nearby and are just picking up some pizza to go; unfortunately, they still don’t offer delivery.

Have yet to find a better pizza than this specific location. Recommend the grilled peppers and pepperoni.

My boyfriend and I love this place! Probably some of the best pizza in town. The only thing I mind is that the salads I have gotten have had water at the bottom of the bowl. I also wish our server would have come back to check on us after she dropped off my salad, so I could tell her about the water. This is the only reason I didn’t give it five stars.

I like Armando’s for what it is. Simple and good Italian food — locally owned. I have had their salads, pizza, lasagna, etc. and it was always good and pretty quick. I think you should give it a try. it is not fancy — just basic good food. The bar is pretty inviting. You will like the atmosphere. Not too loud and not too quiet. Just about right. Enjoy.

The food is ALWAYS salty. Fantastic food, fantastic recipes… To much darn salt. Armando’s in Grovetown is much better it food isn’t salty like this one. However this one is newer, cleaner, and friendlier service. Go figure.

The best thing I can say about this place is that the staff was very friendly. My pizza order came out very burned(blackened so much it shouldn’t have ever left the kitchen, should have just immediately been re-made), the re-make took 25 minutes and came to me with the wrong toppings. The salad was also bland and the lettuce as wilted. All-in-all, the close location to home does not overcome the bad experience and lackluster food.

Cheese manicotti had chicken in it. The description said nothing about chicken. I ordered it because I don’t eat meat. The description should match the product. The waitress said, «cheese manicotti has chicken in it». Really? On the plus side, she did take it back and didn’t charge for it. Cheese ravioli was good.

Great atmosphere. Really good food at awesome prices. Had the wife’s Birthday Dinner here. Even comped a desert for the Birthday Girl. Alot of places do this but it is always a nice gesture. The service was good, always attentive.

Good quality ingredients. There is a slightly longer wait for the food due to everything being cooked fresh for each customer, but worth it. Friendly staff and good atmosphere make the wait for the food enjoyable.
