I purchased a child size cone and was charged 1.39 extra for choosing a sugar cone instead of a standard safety cone. I have never encountered this before and none of the others baskins in the area have this surcharge. After I received the receipt and questioned the cashier, I was assured this was the status quo.

It’s rather small, but you’ll be loathed to find many other Baskin Robbins in Evanston. I don’t know what’s happening to that ice cream shop. It used to be my favorite, but I can’t imagine it’s doing well in Evanston — where there’s the much more fascinating Marble Creamery.
