We used Cooked for awhile to get meal deliveries and I found the food to be fairly good with the exception of anything using beef or pork. Those dishes tended to have a lot of fat on the meat that just wasn’t edible. The chicken items were good though. My only other issue was that they werent great at the time about posting nutritional info and even when they did they would note that portions could be more than 1 serving so it was hard for me to track actual calories.

I love Cooked Chicago. As a teacher with a busy schedule, I don’t
always have time to cook and make sure I have the proper nutrients that I need (veggies, fruits, protein) on a daily basis. The process is very simple and the customer service is fantastic! I would highly recommend for the individual that needs to make sure they eat healthy with a busy schedule.

This is my first experience with food delivery and I am impressed. From start to finish the whole process is simple and the food looks just like its pictured– taste delicious too! The driver went out of his way to deliver my food to me– he came when I wasn’t home, called me and came back as soon as I got home– he wouldn’t even take my tip! I will be ordering again and again :)

Fresh, tasty and always delivered on time. 3 weeks of meals were given to us as a gift after having a baby. Wonderful treat.

I haven’t tried the food yet… but I only got half of my order. I ordered 8 meals and one soup. I got four meals and the delivery driver was completely not helpful… not impressed.

I heard about Cooked from my friend who said she was ordering 4 – 5 times a week and that doing so only costs her $ 40 more than shopping!!! And it’s true! I’m amazed, the food is delicious, the service is great.

We just can’t and/​or don’t want to cook in my family, so we used to order tons of take out. Kind of incompatible with any effort to avoid processed food, sugar, etc., unless you’re like, Oprah, and can just hire a private chef. So we tried all the different membership places where they send you a box or a bag of food and you cook the meals yourself… although that means, uh, cooking. Plus, I was not crazy about the quality or sourcing of produce (or the produce stayed fresh a supernatural length of time which cannot be good), ridiculous amounts of packaging (although better than carry out) blah blah…
Figuring it was way too much to ask — responsibly sourced, fresh and flavorful whole food based meals cooked with healthy fats and delivered to your door. Talk about unrealistic! If you want that, you gotta cook. Right?
Wrong! There we were getting fat and unhealthy again on restaurant food, surrounded by plastic and even Styrofoam (jeez, Chicago). And then we ran across an article in Chicago Trib… and we found Cooked!!!
The food: so tasty. So healthy. The textures, the quality, the intricacy of flavor… beyond. And compostable packaging to boot. Which is now truly oven safe (there was a glitch for a minute where the packaging was not doing so well in the oven at 425, but now totally fine at 350).
The customer service: so responsive, and they accommodate pretty much whatever you need — don’t want skin on your sausage? It’s off! Didn’t like your kale? Credited! Want your food the same day because you are impulsive and indecisive? Here’s your dinner!
We love you, Cooked. Thanks for making us healthy again, and so very happy with our meals. And for being so conscientious about our precious planet and it’s inhabitants.

What an awesome concept! I was lucky enough to attend an event where they provided samples of the product and was blown away by the simplicity of the meals and amazing flavor of every bite! Thanks for service real food, no artificial stuff that satisfied my craving for a good dinner. Will use this service again!

This is my first experience with a food delivery service. I wanted to have a family member eat healthier due to health issues but I’m not a good cook so i turned to Cooked to help us out.
Service: I am very impressed with the service I got here. Communications via email were very quick and detailed. They don’t deliver to my area so they had me put on the website to have to delivered to their store address and refunded me the delivery charge. all I had to do was pick it up at their location which is a short drive away.
Food: My family loved it. The portions seemed smaller than what we are used to but it made us want to eat less and healthier. Everything was very flavorful and delicious and reheating instructions were easy. I’ve tried food I normally don’t make bc I’m too lazy/don’t know how to cook. I also love how they were willing to make any modifications to the food. I requested low sodium and they were more than willing to be accommodating.
Prices are reasonable, staff friendly, and delicious food! Go try it out! What a great experience.

I wanted to love it. I love the concept, the prices are good/​fair, there is a wide variety of food offered each week. Delivery was easy and on time. The food quality is excellent.
So why didn’t we love it? The meals did not reheat well. I ordered two full dinners. We had the first meal the night of delivery. The meals were packaged in oven safe containers but there were only generic heating instructions (chicken, fish, etc.) I assumed pork ramen and children’s spaghetti with turkey meatballs would be treated like chicken — maybe yes, maybe no. In hindsight, it might have been better to reheat both meals in a pot on the stove. Two nights later, we had the almond chicken with green beans and pesto pasta with chicken for my son. They were not in oven safe containers and there were no cooking instructions whatsoever. I emailed asking about the almond chicken and got a quick response with detailed reheating instructions which I followed exactly. I forgot to ask about the other meal so I winged it. Again, it was tasty but inconsistently heated.
Maybe I should have use the stove? Microwave? Convection oven? Separated the food for different amounts of time?
I don’t want to spend the time to figure out how to make it better. In the end, I felt like we had really tasty leftovers that we reheated, not a fresh meal like I was expecting. If they give detailed heating instructions for each meal, I might try it again.

This is my favorite healthy food delivery kitchen iin the city. The meals are creative, healthy, FRESH, and delicous!

We’ve been ordering fish and vegetarian or vegan only and everything has been really, really wonderful. And easy. We freeze some of our order and then microwave frozen 3 – 5 min. In December I ordered, but didn’t use, a pear tart so I froze the whole thing. I was nervous about defrosting and bringing it to a dinner party this weekend but it got rave reviews. These are nice people, too. You never have to get fast food again. We love them.

Just devoured the first dish (of three) from my order. Such a wonderful, healthy, and reasonably priced option for meals when you just don’t have the time. Looking forward to my next two dinners and to ordering again after I return from Thanksgiving. I’m hooked!

Thanks to Malik and the Hip Circle Studio, I was blown away by how tasty and fresh Cooked meals tasted. They came to our monthly fitness party and offered us a sampling of what they have.
I enjoyed the meal and also the variety of options which are healthy, delicious and low fuss. That chia dessert with the berry compote was something amazing!

Incredible food. That may sound like hyperbole, but it’s not. I have been blown away by the quality of the food. The chef is especially fantastic with the vegetables that come with the meals. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and they are cooked perfectly. I feel like this is the first time I’ve tasted herbs like they are meant to be tasted! He made a sauteed kale (yes, sauteed kale) that is one of the top 5 foods I’ve eaten this year. I’ve tried about 7 meals over 3 weeks and every single dish is worth raving about. Plus, the price is so reasonable. I’ve had a salmon dish and a swordfish dish that would easily — easily — be $ 25 – 30 in an average restaurant and it wouldn’t be nearly as good.
Their selection is also great, and I have a hard time deciding which dishes to choose. The menu changes weekly, which is so much better than staring at the same take-​out menus, though I’m already looking forward to some of the ones I’ve had coming back into rotation.
Next week I’m getting chicken mole with plantains, salmon with lentil stew, seafood soup, moroccan lamb stew, and tofu thai curry. Can you imagine that variety from one place? The chia seed pudding is a find, as are their juices. They offer fresh pressed juice for $ 7 – 8 that would be $ 10 at Whole Foods.
It’s actually saving me money because instead of going to a restaurant, or ordering in from a restaurant, I get food from Cooked that is better, healthier and less expensive. I love to cook, but don’t have time during the week. I often make food and freeze it for eating during the week, but that cannot replicate the fresh vegetables and herbs that Cooked uses. I look forward to dinner now! I’m going to try their 10-​week meal plan where they choose the food because I totally trust that I’m going to love anything they suggest. I just need to decide between 3 days or 5.
If you’re on the fence at all, give them a try. You will realize what a find they are.

These guys are life savers! I own The Wine Goddess on Main Street, so I’m never home before 7 or 8 p.m., and my husband works late too. I have a beautifully cooked meal waiting for me in the cooler on the porch, three times a week via Cooked. Each meal takes about 10 – 15 to cook (oven is best) and invariably it tastes/​looks/​is like something you’d pay big bucks for in a restaurant. I love these guys! Would 100% recommend them to anyone who is curious. PS: all the recipes are more healthful than anything I’d make for myself, and the Chef is very receptive if you don’t like particular ingredients, etc. Honestly, Cooked is the greatest.

I have ordered from Cooked several times and have never been disappointed. Their food is convenient, delicious and healthy :). What more can you ask for?! I’m looking forward to our delivery tonight!

Delicious ‘restaurant quality’ meals in my own home with little to no preparation needed. I’m amazed at how great the meals taste. Nutritious and fresh. This is perfect for those of us who are busy, work long hours, and still want a delicious dinner at the end of the day. Plus the customer service and attention is exceptional! No question that they deserve 5 stars.

I really appreciate the service and the food. I work 6 days a week and having delicious nutritious meals prepared and delivered promptly as promised is wonderful. I’ve ordered twice so far and everything was very healthy well packaged and easy to reheat. I’m so happy I found this place. On top of everything else the meals are reasonably priced and taste like fine dining. As you can tell I love this place and highly recommend.

I love Cooked, and miss them, really a hidden gem of Evanston. We’ve left Evanston now, but we were doing three meals a week through them and the food was incredible. It is definitely not like any other delivery food you can get — fresh high quality ingredients (my wife loves that it is organic, locally sourced etc.), extremely tasty and very easy to prepare, heat and eat. We are a busy family and the fact that we could order tasty and healthy food so easily was a huge win.
We (and our kids) hope that Cooked expands locations and that we’ll see them elsewhere soon!

I’m thrilled that more & more food delivery services keep popping up for those of us challenged in the kitchen. I’ve been ordering weekly from kitchen chicks* the past 5 months, but once I heard about Cooked thought I’d try something new.
Ordering thru their website is easy peasy. You have an option of ordering a la carte or can order 3 or 5 «surprise me» meals per week. I don’t like surprises so went the a la carte route. When I checked out I put in the notes section that I wanted the first half of the orders delivered on Monday and the second half delivered on Wednesday. They only charge you one delivery fee for the entire order ($ 5 for Glencoe area). IMO $ 5 for a total of 2 deliveries is very reasonable.
Besides delivery their overall pricing is reasonable. Each meal was $ 12.95 or under and the kids meals I ordered were $ 5.95. The portion sizes were perfect as well. If you’re really hungry (as I usually am after a long day of work/​kids) it’s enough to fill you up, but chances are you’ll have a bit leftover for the next day as well.
I wanted to LOVE the food, but I just liked it. I tried a veggie gnocchi, shrimp with brown rice noodles and mediterranean turkey meatballs. It didn’t taste much better than some of the frozen meals I buy from the grocery store– just not the same home cooked love we experience from Kitchen Chicks each week.
They provide oven and microwave instructions for each meal and nothing took more than 10 minutes to heat up. Even I couldn’t mess it up!
I do really like their ordering system, variety and kids meal options though so I’d order from them again in the future.

We were delighted with the dinner delivered to us from Cooked. Chef Jona Silva has once again come up with a way to prepare his fabulous meals and now you can have them delivered all ready to warm up or eat as is.
We’ll be using Cooked every time we don’t feel like going out or cooking! I’m also thinking i won’t need to obsess when i have a dinner party. I can just get Cooked’s delicious food delivered. Gourmet food delivered at a reasonable price!

I work in Evanston, so it was a no-​brainer for me to try Cooked for lunch – way healthier than my usual Cross Rhodes greek fries/​entire Hoosier Mama pie fare.
Meals are delicious and yes — they really look like the photos! I have tried it 5 times and have never had an issue with delivery/​meal itself/​etc. I will definitely use again.
