Dr. Eldin Karaikovic doesn’t know how to run a doctor’s office. My appointment was for 2:15PM. They request you show up ½ an hour early to get x-rays taken. So really, my appointment was for 1:45PM. They called that morning and left a voice mail saying they were pushing my appointment to 3:30PM. That should have been my cue to cancel my appointment, but I figured hey, scheduling mistakes happen. So I show up at 3:00PM, and get X-rays taken. It’s about 3:20 and I’m back at the doctor’s office. ATFIVEFIFTEEN I SAIDGIVEMEMYCO-PAYMENTBACK, I’M LEAVING. Yes, you read that correctly. Almost two hours later from my REVISED appointment, and four and a half from my original appointment! And THEN the staff had the gall to admonish me when I told another patient checking in that they were running *hours* late when they failed to do so! I had been polite up to that point, but that was the last straw. I said that if they weren’t going to BEFAIR to their patients and let them know up front how ridiculously behind they were, that if they lacked the intestinal fortitude to do it THEN I WOULD. I think that demonstrates a basic lack of respect on the part of this office, and I would NEVER choose to have any procedures done there… A complete FAILURETORENDERSERVICES — without actually assaulting the patients it doesn’t get any worse! — — - Update! So I informed my general practitioner at ENH about the debacle with Dr. K. He said that he was going to talk to Dr. K, and see if they could get me in. So I’ve been calling Dr. K’s office for three days, asking to speak with him. Always not in, or not taking calls. Finally today he calls me back. Except he *didn’t* call me back. His office assistant called me back and said(this is a *direct quote*), «He doesn’t feel the need to talk to you. But he can offer you an appointment on Tuesday.» My reply was that if he didn’t feel the need to apologize for how his office treated me on the previous visit, that I didn’t feel the need to patronize his practice. The girl on the other end of the phone couldn’t have possibly cared less. As such, I believe that Dr. K represents a genuine STAIN on the otherwise fine reputation of Evanston Hospital. He possesses extreme amounts of both arrogance and hubris, and I would *never* willingly choose to patronize him, and by extension Evanston Northwestern Hospital.
