Excellent pizza. My daughter and I enjoyed a slice in their shop while Christmas shopping in Evanston last December. Now we get it delivered. Outstanding — the pepperoni pizza is just the way we like it. Cheesy and(a little bit) Greasy. And it’s NY style … so there’s that.

Unnecessarily rude service after returning to get a corrected order. Too many other places to give business to who respect their customers.

New Italian Sub is to die for-better than Hero’s near Lane Tech! Fresh, delicious-do they deliver –I’d take it any day over Jimmy Johns!

I grew up in Evanston. Still live here. I’ve been a customer ever since I can remember. I had such a disappointing experience today. My nephew ordered my pizza, put all of my toppings on it and brought it straight to my car. I took a bite and it was cold and hard! I immediately took the slice of pizza back in and asked if I could get a new slice. One of the guys put the bitten slice into the oven and pointed to the manager for me to speak to. I explained to the manager why I was asking for a new slice and he refused! He then took the bitten slice out of the oven using the big spatula that they use for all of the other pizzas that come out of the oven(unsanitary)! Put the bitten warm & hard slice on a plate and told me he will not give me a new slice and he would not give me my money back! These guys have watched me grow up! These guys have watched my kids grow up… Feelings a little hurt. Never will I step foot in that place again!

Not bad but could be better. The floor were not actually very clean. But their cheese fried is good. Remind me of an old day in pizza place.

I love New York style pizza and this is by far the best I’ve found in Chicago. Garlic knots are great too!

We love this place. We go there every time after working out in YMCA that means 2 – 3 times a week. It just feels like it’s a part of the city, part of many people’s life. It’s relaxing, convenient and inexpensive. It weirdly becomes a reason why you love this city.

Been visiting this place at it’s North Broadway location since I was about 7 years old. After moving back to my hometown in 2000(why I ever moved to So. FL remains unclear to me), I found that the original location had been sold to people who apparently didn’t get the memo: ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” so the ‘za was quite poor. I was crestfallen. Imagine my delight upon discovering a 2nd location in Evanston serving the very same original quality New York-style super large, super thin crust tomato-cheese pie as the Wilson_Broadway location used to sell.-ecstatic I was!(yes, I speak Yoda when overly excited). Can’t say enough about this place, service is great, product is great, and they really mix it up(some days they offer pizza with toppings which are multi-ethinic, providing a gustatory mélange which tantalizes the taste buds). Great hours, always something hot and ready to eat, and I never, ever once got ill from eating here. All-in-all my go-to place for thin crust, NY-style pie.

The cashier took money by hand and without washing hands or use gloves, put pizza in the oven with the same hands. The same issue happened 1.5 years before. I stopped going to this place due to this unprofessional way of handling clients safety. 1.5 years later, I thought that I would give it a try. The same issue. I will not return to this place.

Terrific place. I have lived down the street from Gigio’s for over two years. I like the atmosphere. Very good service and food.

I can hardly go to downtown Evanston without getting a slice of sausage pizza. Excellent value and flavor. Been going here since I was a kid and that was a long time ago so I’m speaking from dozens and dozens of slices consumed probably more. They always have several variations of pizza slices available at almost any time. Two slices and a pop and your good for the day.

Could I give them 6 stars? The purist in me was initially appalled by all the new changes. After all. I’ve been coming here since I was 6. My first slice of pizza ever was at Gigios. I had my first date here, and took my kids here on the way home from preschool. They now in college! So the fact that they even have a menu board on the wall now, not to mention new menu items such as salad(what?!?), is a lot to get used to. However, the new Cemitas Oblano sandwich and the wine and beer have won me over. Long live Gigios!

Like many other people have stated this is definitely not New York style pizza. I also have been to New York many times and their pizza is on a different caliber but this did satisfy my hunger when I needed it too. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and the speciality meat lovers pizza. The pepperoni was average plus the crust was a little burnt. I will say the meat lovers was very enjoyable, you can never go wrong with adding bacon to anything in my opinion! Overall, it was good not very memorable.

Use to be a fan of the pizza But the delivery and Customer service provided has earned them this review, yesterday my pizza was requested at 538pm, I was told that it would be delivered around 6:30 the latest, it was delivered at 710, last pizza with the delivery guy and it was cold Not good, not a happy fan, will look for another pizzeria.

I grew up going to Gigio’s. It was an Evanston staple, just like the Burger King on weekends(more so to catch up with friends, find out where the parties were, or just hang out). With late hours and a casual atmosphere with picnic tables and benches, Gigio’s was a great value where you could get a slice of pizza and a drink for well under $ 5. Big, tasty slices that everyone loved.(Greasy goodness!). They had a great sandwich called the super sausage, and good tacos, too. Fast forward to today, something has definitely changed. The pizza is not what it used to be. The crust is hard and the slices lack flavor. After hearing about changes, I stopped in to see for myself. It’s not terrible, but definitely not the quality pizza I remember. It’s still a good value with slices at $ 3.30, but sadly, it wouldn’t be my 1st choice for pizza.

The food here is OK. It’s fairly priced. The place is clean. I’ve eaten here over 500 times since the 80’s and I haven’t gotten sick off it. The staff are friendly, except for that new d1ckish young man with shorts and brown shoes, who acts like he owns the place, but is probably the owner’s son or nephew. He was so rude, not answering a simple question about the menu, then answering facetiously when I asked again. Being slightly rude is one thing, but what’s with refusing to cook me a burger at 8:30pm? You’re open until 9pm! Is the cut-off supposed to be 8:30? Blergh! Two stars, and not one, because I want to love you again, Gigio’s. I’ve been loving you since the 80’s, so mend your ways and I’ll forgive you! p. s. How can that sausage contraption possibly be OK?

After my significant other and I ended up getting stranded in Evanston one evening. We decided to grab a bite to eat at this pizza joint. We would pass by this place when we’d visit Bennisons across the street but never really thought of trying the place out. I regret not coming sooner. Our first visit we got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage. We also got a thing of Mozzarella sticks. The pepperoni pizza was superb. However, the sausage out shined it in every way. Both slices are decently big and easy to fold. Much like New York style pizza. The meats were absolutely delicious. That sausage… It had a nice spice to it and you got a good amount of it on your slice. It was honestly probably the best sausage pizza that I had in a long time. The mozzarella sticks really surprised us. Not for the fact that they were good. They shocked us by how much they give you. We’re used to places just giving you a small portion of sticks but this place? They give you a basket. The price is fantastic for the amount you get. Overall, I can definitely say you got to at least come once. At least for that sausage pizza.

In an effort to avoid whole foods, I found myself venturing a bit past the Davis L Stop to see what options lay«just beyond the wall». Here I found this nice little spot with similar priced slices available for consumption. Not bad at all. The slices are NYC style thin and floppy. The sauce is decent and the sausage pieces are somewhat flavorful. Not spicy, however not bland either. The price is comparable to WF so for me to continue coming here will be situational. But a leisurely walk during lunch as the sole destination is not going to be one of them.
