Deep Dish pizza in Chicago– check! So glad I checked this place off my list and was not disappointed. The only advice I have PRE– ORDER, pre ORDER, or do not come hungry!.. The food was amazing. I had a salad, glass of house white wine, and Deep Dish with chicken sausage. I am happy I went, and next time in Chicago, I will save all my calories for pizza!

Ridiculous! Arrived at noon, and watched pizza after pizza leave in take out but after an hour and 40 minutes we STILL didn’t have our pizza. Staff was incompetent and could care less about the restaurant. It was packed with increasingly annoyed patrons.

I walked in at 1pm and sat for 15 minutes before a server came to me. When she finally did she advised that they had no lunch special pizzas today because their guys forgot to prep them and it would take 45 minutes to get my «quick lunch». It would have been nice if this was advised to me when seated, instead I wasted 15 minutes of my short lunch break staring at the wall and then having to leave because of this stupid issue. No lunch for me today I guess.

Good pizza, but nothing to write home about. While it’s debatable whether it earns the title of being famous, it’s solid and fairly consistent in quality(I’ve eaten from here 4 times). As many other reviews say, however, the service is quite poor. They say on the menu that the deep dish pizzas take 45 minutes to make, but then use this as an excuse for excessive wait times. When I say«excuse,» I mean the waitstaff is pretty unapologetic about the slow service. Last time I was there, I asked the waitress after an hour and 15 minutes whether our food was coming soon. She knelt down to my eye level and just said«you know, pizzas take a very long time to make,» as if I were a child. Furthermore, the tile floors make this place extremely loud, even when it’s just 1⁄3 full.

My wife and family have dined, or tried to, at this Giordano’s on several recent occasions, because it is within walking distance of where we live. Each time, we have either walked out because of lack of attention by the hostess, or wish that we’d walked out because of slow service and poor food. We can only believe that this is because of inept or disinterested local management. We don’t plan to dine there anymore, no matter how close it is. Skip C.

Finally, some deep-dish pizza at Chicago. The food is great and the ambient is dynamic. Definitely, definitely make a reservation and PRE-ORDER your pizza! It would take an hour to cook if you order on-site.

Stopped by this location yesterday and had a great experience. Nicole, our waitress was extremely attentive to our table and took great care to insure we we completely happy with the experience. It was my first time eating here and I’ll make it a point to go back.

Nicole is an amazing server. They say it takes 45 minutes for a pizza but only took about 25. Worth the wait. Food was great and would definitely recommend.

5 stars for the excellent, attentive service! 4 stars for the food! The pizza was crisp, fresh, and very cheesy! We got the Chicago Classic and loved every bite. I am still a bigger fan of Lou’s but Giordanos is a nice, welcomed change. Their calamari is excellent. I loved the fried lemon! We had Nicole as our server around lunchtime and she was very attentive, and warm. I will definitely go with the hope of having her again.

First disclaimer, I prefer thin crust to deep dish. That said, this place is just inconsistent. The first time I came, the small one topping deep dish actually made me begin to change my mind — the crust was crispy and doughy on the inside. But on my most recent visit, I got the classic Chicagoan, and the crust was super crunchy and texture was more like a cracker, which I did not enjoy. Still worth a try to say you’ve done Chicago right I suppose!

This was my first time deep dishin’ and I enjoyed it. I really didn’t know much about deep dish coming into this experience but HOMYGAWSH it is deep and cheesy. You can really only have two slices of this tops and that is borderline overeating(at least for me). Started off with the house salad and that was probably the best salad I’ve had without some amazing dressing like ranch. It had a very simple dressing to it(can’t remember what) but it just tasted so good and fresh. Really advise you to start with the salad and I’m not even much of a salad person! Ordered the standard deep dish pie here and yeah it was really cheesy. Maybe a little too cheesy for my taste. But still soooooooo good. You have to eat this stuff with a knife and fork. The taste was very rich. Like I said I could only eat two slices so stopped there and took the rest home! Went on a slow night but looks like a fun place that Northwestern kids and other locals hang at. It’s not great to watch games cause the TVs are small. Staff is friendly too!

This is hands down the WORST location. We ordered a thin crust pizza at 6 pm and three hours later and two phone calls still have no received our pizza. The order was lost twice. I don’t even want a coupon for another free pizza because it would not be worth the trouble to go back to this location. I am only ordering from Lou Malnatis from now on.

I ordered a lunch special, a sausage stuffed pizza with a clam chowder soup and an ice tea, it only costed me about $ 10. The soup is really good, the pizza is good also but a little cheesy, and I tried a Parmesan chicken sandwich which was ordered by my dad, that’s really good.

Lunch here is awesome. Bring a friend or bring your laptop.(Free wifi). The food is great, plenty of it, and it goes down easy. Lunch specials change, but they are all good. For small groups of coworkers– the wine is served in generous but work-appropriate servings. Go after 1 pm and you got plenty of room. It’s good food, like your bubbie makes. ;-). Recommended.

I have always wanted to try a Chicago style deep-dish pizza… And it was quite underwhelming to say the least. + Service was quick, casual and hassle-free + Very filling + Novelty + Cute classic décor and tile floors — Expensive for the quality/ingredients you get — Extremely cheesy and heavy to a point of being gross after a while — Not a really dynamic range of flavors It takes a while(approx. 40 minutes) so be prepared to wait. I was told this place is more«high end» than the regular restaurant as an explanation for its higher price tag but it felt very diner-like and basic to me.

Ordered a pizza Friday night at 5:30, waited until 6:30 to call and confirm its on its way, was told it’s almost ready… called again at 7:30, a manager told me they lost the pizza and that my next pizza would be free. Great. Called the next day at 4 and ordered a pizza again, this time confirming with the manager that it would be free and it’s on its way… waited until 6 to call and cancel my order, they said it would just be another 30mins then it would be out for delivery. Can’t trust this business ever again.

IMSORRYBUT I LIKEBROOKLYNSTYLEPIZZABETTER I don’t think the 40MINUTE wait time is justified for what I ended up getting in the end… Also the 2 people size is still too big. They should have a mini size so people don’t waste food. Service was alright.

We moved to Evanston in July this year, and were happy to find a Giordano’s so close. We have been here a few times since moving in and have always had great pizza and great service from the staff. I’ve had deep dish and thin crust here, and both are great. As with any place that serves deep dish, it takes about 45 minutes to cook, so keep that in mind. I’ve ordered a pizza then went shopping to kill time, and was seated with no problems around the time my pizza was ready. Make sure to ask the staff before doing this to assure there are enough seats in advance. We will continue to come here!

Sorry Chicago folks your pizza does not match up with either the East or West Coasts. The crust, whether deep dish or thin, is a problem but toppings were awesome. Fabulous family style salads. Great place for groups.

Possibly the worst pizza and service i’ve ever had. First one of our group got wrong beer and the waitress started arguing that it’s the one that he ordered. Once we got our food, a vegetarian deep dish, it was cold from the middle. We noticed the waitress about this, and again we got very defensive answer instead of «sorry, i’ll take it back to kitchen». We asked her to do it to get it heated properly. Once we got it back all the vegetables on the top were burned, but still it was mildly warm. We were hungry, so we took it as it was. Almost cold and not that tasty. We had heard that the place has been nominated as the best deep dish place in Chicago. You must be kidding me.
