Worst customer experience I’ve ever had. I took an old G4 Mac in to figure out why I couldn’t install OS X on it(Panther maybe?). His«tech» basically did all the same things I’d already done, which I told them not to do. Charged me $ 60 an hour, I told Nabih I’ve already done all the things he was trying. He told me if I knew so much, maybe I should come in and pick it up and fix it myself. I was absolutely dumbfounded. I had to pay him $ 120 for absolutely nothing. I told him I’d give him horrible reviews whenever I had the chance and he told me he didn’t care. So there you go, if you want to give your business to someone who doesn’t care, take it to Nabih’s. This place should be out of business. Go to the Apple store instead. FYI the problem with the Mac was a faulty processor. I was able to buy an upgrade for it for half the price Nabih was going to charge and did it myself in 5 minutes. G

This is THE worst place EVER. Nabih himself would have a terrific business if he were a decent human being… because he’s been in EVanston a long time and has NU business. He never fails to disappoint. I bought a small item from him… about $ 15 and found I didn’t need it. I brought it back *with the receipt* unopened in the original packaging and he refused to take it back. He asked my name(this was a cash transaction) and looked me up on his computer. He said«Maybe if you’d bought a whole system from me, I’d take this back.» Is that even legal? Other friends have had horrible experiences with this shop too. Look at the outside! It has to be the OPPOSITE of the Apple stores, which are beautifully designed, clean, and employ knowledgeable people. (And btw, the Michigan Ave. Apple store is the best… much better than the suburban ones…)

When my Mac G4 laptop died, an Apple CSR gave me Nabih’s as one of several Apple-authorized dealers/servicers in my area. Long story short, after comparing them with a local Apple store, I can say that if you want to feel like a real customer and get real service, this is the place to go. The store itself is not prepossessing: no shiny signs, no fancy interior, no hipsters. But everyone I dealt with, including the owner himself, was knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. They managed to recover my data from my damaged hard drive for a very reasonable fee. I also bought a backup drive and new MacBook from them; not once did they ever pressure me to buy the most expensive item, or try to upsell, and they answered all of my questions about what I’d bought. If you truly want excellent service and to support local business, this is the place to go.
