I can not praise this place enough. I have worked with two therapists who practice CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The changes I have made are amazing, and I am a much calmer and happier person. This therapy is about the thought processes that are influencing your behavior and not about dwelling on past pain, which for me, and many others, is a much more effective way to work on issues. I am sad to say that I have seen a dozen other therapists over my life time, and only one other was of this caliber. I hope you will consider this place if you are looking for therapy. A review before mine said that this was not a place for more serious issues, and I understand why shy thinks that. Because you are interviewed beforehand, you are assigned a caliber of student therapist that matches your needs. I was in bad shape, and was actually on disability because of the severity of my depression. But it’s two and a half years later and the changes in my life are almost miraculous to me. Also I I had two sessions a week when at my worst and still paid less than ten dollars a session. Now I am off disability, still cleaning up around the edges of my depression, and a happy person. I wish you all the best.

I like this place because they charge on a sliding scale. I went when I was still a student and didn’t have much income. Plus my insurance didn’t cover mental health stuff. If you’re on the bottom end of the scale you see a student which I was at first a little concerned about. Over the phone they do a consultation about what issues you would like to discuss and try to match you with someone to help. The girl they matched me with was very good. She did a very nice job of making me feel at ease and was sure to tell me that licensed professionals reviewed her sessions so I wasn’t just at the mercy of a psych major! I think she was a doctoral student actually. Anyway, the price was right and I felt better after going. This obviously isn’t a good place for people with serious psychological issues, but for a young adult going through a «quarter-life crisis» it was helpful.
