I really want to like this restaurant, this is the second time my wife and I have been here and loved it the first time so much that we took some good friends with us this time and well though it wasn’t a terrible experience let’s just say there is room for improvement. To start with they had three big parties in the front room this made it terribly loud in that room. We could not talk at our table without literally shouting at each other. We did tell the manger about it and he did have an answer for us. He said it was like being at your grandmother’s at thanksgiving with all the noise. Well maybe that is true but I had to go to my grandmother’s, I don’t have to go to your restaurant and I don’t pay $ 80.00+ a couple to eat at my grandmother’s. There were a few other hiccups along the way as well, it was well it was over 50 mins after our salad was served before we received our entrées. They forgot salad dressing for two of the salads. The server should have caught this and it was quite some time before we could get the waitress’s attention to get the missing dressing. To top it off the we ordered two pieces of the peach cheesecake. When they came we all noted that it had raspberries on top and there was no peach flavor at all. We all could not understand why is was called peach. When the server did finally come by we told her about it not being peachy at all. She told us the one she tried was very peachy and they must have got it wrong in the kitchen. Don’t get me wrong we did manage to eat it but, I’m sorry would have went a long way. There again a server should have caught this before it came to the table raspberries on top could have been a clue. There were three other tables around us that had similar problems and all of them talked to the manager as well. I felt the restaurant was just overwhelmed with the three large parties and just didn’t have the staff to pull it off. In the end the food was good and we love the location near Haynie’s Corner and the beautifully restored old house is great. But if they want to be a more upscale restaurant they need to get some of these types of problems sorted out.

This review is not for food, service, etc. I did not get to eat here because I read that they do not take reservations – PLEASENOTETHATTHEYDOTAKERESERVATIONS, because we were turned away for not having them. Please update this information, because I would have made one a couple of days ago when I was researching this restaurant.

I love this place. The location downtown is great and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I honestly waited to try this place forever and wish I would have went sooner. I had the salmone appetizer which was delicious(and beautifully presented). I also tried the fettuccine Alfredo. I generally don’t like alfredo most places, but this may be one of the best alfredo sauces I’ve tried to date.

TLDR; Deserves your attentiom. Try it.(Could be expensive for your tastes) This restauarant is new a different(for Evansville). The atmosphere and the building clash beautifully with the 19th century architecture mixed with a modern folk/artsy vibe of the furniture and wall art. I ordered the seasonal ravioli(Southern Comfort) which was a delightfully flavorful and rich pasta that filled me up for $ 17. I also tried their take on the gin fizz. Everything was good, nothing was stelar. I walked in to a sign that said wait to be seated, I waited, and waited, saw a waitress I kmew from another job, waited some more. Twice I was told that someone would get the hostess for me. After about 10 minutes(without anyone in the waiting area) I was seated after inquiring about bar seating. Other than that, the service was great, and i was perfectly happy with the experience. I will continue to come back to see how this place is doing.

First time we were there and we were not disappointed. Nice menu, many unusual things, healthy alternatives, and excellent service. The fifth star was held back because at seven to nearly 9 the noise level was very high. It was difficult to converse. The tables were also very close together. Other than that we will go again.

So my wife and I decided to check out something new. We went to Tristate food reviews on Facebook for help deciding. There were a lot of places named but when we looked into them all there was just something different about Sauced. We headed down to check it out. I felt a little bit under dressed, but they didn’t make me feel out of place at all. It was busy when we first arrived, and they quickly offered us seats at the bar while we waited for a table. The bartender was a bit busy, but she still did a great job getting us drinks with how many people were ordering from her. After about a 10 or 15 minute wait we were seated and promptly greeted by our waiter. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, and did a wonderful job explaining the flavors of each item on the menu. My wife ordered the shrimp and I ordered the ravioli. The ravioli was the special for the night it came with pulled duck on top and a very creamy goat cheese filling. It was a very tangy and very sweet taste and everything just had a home made fresh feel to the meal. We ended the night with the triple chocolate cheesecake. It was extremely fresh as well, and the flavor was incredible. Overall the experience was fantastic. It was bit pricey, but the quality and flavor of the food made it worth it.

We stopped in at Sauced during our trip to Evansville. The bartender was great! She was very personable and talked to us about the history of the restaurant and town. The food was also very good… we tried a few different menu items and everything tasted fresh and had good flavor! On the other hand… the bar felt dark and didn’t have an inviting feel, but it did have a great patio. Overall, the bartender and food made it a good experience!

Excellent service and food, but ‘worth it”? Set in a beautiful old mansion in a quaint neighborhood, it definitely has a charming ambiance. This is a great date night or family get together place. Good wine selection. I knew what I wanted so can’t comment on their suggested wine pairings. My meal was excellent and I couldn’t stop eating. Large portion, but not overfilling. Now: back to being«worth it». I fail to understand why pasta is so expensive.

I really enjoyed the dinner here. The renovation to the house is beautiful. Service was prompted, informative and we were well looked after. I had a salmon, YUM, and my companion had the ravioli. The food was delicious, served hot and well proportioned. I’d definitly go back next time I come to visit.

Would like to give a better review, but unfortunately, I did not even get to eat. All signs and information state that this place closes at 11 on Friday. Walked in at 9:20 and was informed that last call was at 9. This would have been very useful information since we’re not local. Why stay open two hours past last call? Is the service that slow?

I enjoyed my experience at Sauced. The atmosphere was very nice. It is nice to eat at a place that has character instead of one of the chains that are built in strip mall parking lots over the course of a weekend. The food was very good and the service was even better. The menu is quite limited. At an Italian joint, you would most certainly expect to see calamari and/or eggplant on the menu. But surprisingly, neither was here. That is fine though, as it is always good to try something new. I agree with Cheryl’s post of a few months ago. The computerized method of paying the bill at the table needs to be modified. I had the earlier review in the back of my mind when walking in. But sure enough, I saw a table of 4 next to me be put on the spot as to what they wanted to tip the server. You just had a nice meal and now your server is there asking about how much you want to tip. It is very awkward and should be changed. Chili’s are doing this nationwide and even Madeleine’s in Evansville is doing it this way. But the server should not stare at you as you review the bill and attempt to pay the check and tip. The same thing happened to me. Management should really take a look at this as it is a big turn off. I would go back here to Sauced for sure.

Well worth every penny! The food was fantastic which was helped by a friendly and knowledgable staff and a great venue. We have been looking for just this place for a great relaxing meal and have found it in Evansville. We were there early in the evening so noise was not a problem. Everything we ordered was fresh and beautifully presented. The desserts are to die for! Thank you Chef Schymik!!! Fantastic !!! We will become a regular.

Had the Misata salad, shrimp pasta, and sauced wedding cake. Everything was delicious — especially the salad. Portions are small. Décor and ambience excellent!

Awesome! Heads up Evansville. If you’re not eating here regularly, START! Food was amazing. Best meal I’ve eaten here. Lamb stank was so tender and delicious. It takes a while so if you are in a hurry order something else, but well worth the wait. Order a Bloody Mary. House made mix is best I’ve tasted.

Great service. Solid drinks. Would have liked marina with my ala carte meatballs. Also could’ve had more pesto in pesto. Overall a solid dining experience in Evansville.

My new favorite dining experience in Evansville or anywhere in Southern Indiana for that matter. I have yet to find a restaurant of this kind of caliber anywhere around! I found Sauced on Unilocal after a bit of digging. I don’t go for the top 5 that show up… I search. I had never heard of Sauced and was a bit weary with only 2 reviews, but you gotta start somewhere right?! First impression is whoa, cool! It was refreshing to see the old Victorian home renovated for this place, especially in DT where it seems revitalization is going slow. Kudos to you for taking a chance Sauced! When walking in you’re immediately overcome by the ambiance of this place as well as the friendly greeting you receive from staff. Upon suggestion from Unilocal I ordered the New York Sour and was NOT disappointed! You can tell that Sauced has a mixologist… not just a bartender! It’s refreshing to find an actual mixed drink created from modest ingredients and nicely whipped with egg white. Hats off to you bartender… keep up the excellent work! As for the food we ordered the Carpaccio appetizer that was thin cuts of tenderloin with horseradish sauce and pickled onions and it was absolutely perfect. That meat was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the onions. My BF and I were both happy with our entrees. I ordered the Stuffed Chicken Parmesan and he opted for the Casalena(spicy sausage). Both were delicious and plated beautifully. I would have liked a bit more flavor to my pasta sauce but it certainly did not take away from the dish. I’m sure you’re asking if it’s so great, why the 4 stars? Well the end of the meal was nothing but awkward. All the orders are taken on a mini-iPad type device which is cool. But that’s how they give you your bill too. So our waitress handed us the pad, explained how to use it and then stood there waiting for us to decide our tip so we she could swipe our card right at the table. Nice in concept but didn’t give us any down time and we felt pressured to tip/pay/process ASAP. It would be nice for the owners to review that process. Just a suggestion. If I lived closer I would eat here often but either way I would highly recommend it, and I will return! Can’t wait! Italian food with flair!

This is a new, fresh take on Italian in downtown Evansville. The food is fantastic. Living up to their name, the sauce(s) are wonderful and the drinks are stiff. You will enjoy yourself! The atmosphere in the bar room is electric and contagiously fun. The dining room is romantic and intimate. It’s a much needed addition to downtown Evansville.
