Babies R Us

The customer service here leaves so much to be desired. The store is full of great products but the majority of the staff would rather not be there. The only saving grace is that I was fortunate to get help from Branndon after being brushed off and dismissed by two associates. I found exactly what I needed and had all of my questions answered no thanks to the other associates. Branndon is great and could teach the staff a thing or two about customer service.

This review isn’t about the store/​merchandise itself, but about the Mother’s Room in the back of the store. I was traveling and needed a place to nurse my child. The room was clean, quiet, well decorated and furnished, and best of all it was a very relaxing place to take care of business.

My wife and I recently stopped in at this Babies R Us to stock up our baby shower registry. When we entered the store we very quickly realized that the store was packed.
We were greeted by their polite staff but the staff was so overwhelmed that we didn’t get much attention for questions as we started the process of figuring out what are the safest products for our baby.
Beyond the fact that they were packed, the store was well stocked and they had everything we needed to buy. In the future we hope to come on a less chaotic day so that we can ask all of the silly questions that we have related to being parents for the first time.

My wife and I were beyond satisfied with the customer service at this Babies R Us. We came from Jamaica Plain prepared for the worst after reading all the reviews and I’m delighted to say that our experience was the opposite.
We’ve been to other branches before in West Hartford, CT and we found the folks who helped us here were more knowledgeable. Brandon helped us and answered every question we hurled at him about strollers and the endless variations on the theme. And we had a lot of questions. He was patient and warm and knew his business.
When we moved on to vet the different baby slings and carriers, we had another proactive employee go out of her way to help us try them on and sort out the differences.
In the end, I ran out of gas and that’s why we left, but we were super pleased to get this quality service and definitely plan to come back.

If I could give this place 0 (zero) stars I would (but it won’t let me) because I was just there about 20 minutes ago & the customer service there is just plain AWFUL! I was standing there trying to ask someone about an item. 3 people were behind the customer service desk. 1 was cashing someone out and the other 2 were standing there talking and laughing! They looked at me a few times and not once did they say «hi can I help you with something?» Then another employee walks by me and doesn’t say anything! I didn’t get any help until I finally said «excuse me!» Trying to find someone to help you or even go up front to ask is near impossible! They are never anywhere to be found! And then, I go up front to pay for the 2 things I had and there’s 1 cashier at the service desk and 1 regular cashier. Both slow as molasses! Meanwhile my son is screaming in the car! I ended up just putting my basket on the floor and leaving! Worst store I’ve EVER been to! I prefer the one in Peabody! Always so happy and willing to help! If you need to ask a question someone is always around! Don’t go to the Everett one! You will be very displeased!

Helpful staff

Worst location ever! Awful employees! Unprofessional managers! It’s an absolute zoo. No one communications with one another. Unless it’s a manager tickling and flirting with their employee. For several months now I’ve been having issues with this location. I have called customer service to speak with a regional or district manager and I have yet to receive a returning phone call. My last two visits are the nail in the coffin! Done with that store !!

The staff have always been helpful. Good selections. The nursing room is right next to the restroom and the loud hand dryer often startled my baby and made him cry. It’s much closer to where I live than Buy Buy Baby. They took coupon from their competitor stores. I used their baby registry and bought a lot stuff from them. Over all it’s an above average store, good for first time parents.

My expectations are generally pretty low at big box stores, but this Babies R Us surprised me. We actually had a few salespeople ask us if we needed assistance. We found everything we were looking for — there’s no doubt this is the motherlode of baby stores — but I thought the prices were surprisingly high. A lot of items can be found cheaper at Target (Dreft baby detergent, for example) or
(a price comparison on a few items showed Amazon was cheaper by 30−50%). Good place to shop for baby stuff if you’re in the area and need something right away.

Ended up calling 888 number to complete something
that should have taken 10 minutes.

The only gripe I have about this place is how they just let the checkout lines go 10 deep and don’t do anything about it and this happens quite often. You usually can find all of your baby needs here.

Gosh babies r us you make my wallet empty (pause) my husband’s wallet empty. I just want to buy everything my little bugger wants! This place is very clean compared to other bRu. The workers are. friendly and if u can’t find anything here target is down the street and everything else is in the plaza. So convenient.

Everything is over priced but they have a large selection if you dont mind spending the buck. One manager was amazingly rude and the sales associates seemed to be running around in a frenzy. The cashiers are nice though (the only pleasant part is when theyre taking you money). Dont bother going, you better off going to walmart.

Tons of bad reviews, but if you know what your want here, then def worth it… There is a method to Babies R Us, you need to go on the weekdays (better at night) and then you dont get the rush of everyone there to registry shop… If you join the rewards group you are also at an advantage to always having coupons or rewards $$‘s… I have to go there because my son will only wear Fisher Price diapers and thats the only place I can find them… but with my coupons & being aware of good sales I always seem to get a good deal… But I do understand all the other complaints, sometimes they could work on their Cust Service… But all in all I always have a good experience.

There might be a lot of negative reviews for this location, but I must say that on Friday I had a most excellent experience at this Babies R Us. The mister and I found out we’re having a girl (yay!), so we decided to go ahead and hit up Babies R Us to register. It couldn’t have been any smoother. The woman who helped us register, Ginny, was the nicest lady EVER. She was so helpful and kind and had lots of good tips. And while we were in the process of scanning all our desired items (which is quite enjoyable in and of itself), there were many workers around offering their help when we looked confused. It was a fantastic registering experience overall. The prices are a little bit high on some of the items (Target often has better prices), and I had a few issues with the registry showing blank items when I checked it online at home. Those were the only two drawbacks, though. Overall, I’m totally happy with this place.

I’m child-​free, but the people around me are becoming less so. That’s fine, good for them, I like playing auntie sometimes. What I don’t like though, is buying registry items here. The place is a zoo.
Ok, I found the registry machine by myself and managed to print out what I needed. Once I got the print out though, I needed a bit of help. I don’t know anything about babies, what the heck is this thing my friend registered for? Can you help me? Sorry, busy, find it yourself. Not on the shelf? Too bad, try back next week. Can you call another store? No we don’t do that.
They clearly do not want by business, so they will no longer receive it. Next time, I’ll try another location or a different chain altogether. Absolutely not worth my time.

I understand that it might be annoying to have to listen to crying babies and witness clueless new parents running around overwhelmed. I know that it may be a pain to have to look into countless baby carriages and make small talk about how cute the baby is. But in the end, if you work at Babies R Us, you’ve *chosen* to endure these injustices, right? So in my opinion, there’s no excuse for pissy-​ness, impatience, and indifference.
I have never entered this store to find a helpful employee smiling at me. And even though I’ve been in more times than I care to mention, I still have trouble finding basic items without help. But unfortunately, this is the only show in town, so I continue to allow myself to be abused. The one redeeming fact? At least *I* get to enjoy peering into baby carriages to see the cutie faces and watching young daddies playing peek-​a-​boo with their infants in (the inevitably long) line.

That guy wandering around in the car-​seat aisle with a glazed expression on his face? That would be me.
My wife and I started a registry here and at the end of our session, I told the helpful woman that we’d probably finish up online. Her response: «Where’s the fun in that?» I choked out a strangled laugh and stumbled outside to get some air.
I still have nightmares.
