First of all, I’m not a big fan of Coffee. I was drawn to this location because this is a historic property in downtown Everett. I’ve driven by for years and never stepped inside. The Bargreen Family has operated this location for generations and this property seems to be in near original condition. I didn’t know what to make of it when I walked into the front door of the café. Not the best set up for a café. There’s a big step up to the counter… obviously not up to current code and is grandfathered in. That’s not a problem for me or the regulars I saw there enjoying some really great coffee. I can honestly say, I really liked the Italian Roast coffee I tried. I think that is a great endorsement from someone who is not a coffee guy.

Was in the area for a meeting. Really funky little place. Looks to be a small diner converted to a coffee shop. They roast their own coffee but I’m no coffee connoseuir so I can’t really give an expert opinion on how it compares to Starbucks or Tully’s. However I do prefer to support small businesses rather than feed the big corporate machine. For that objective Bargreen is a great choice. Had the Dark Chocolate Mocha with Almond Milk. Very tasty, not too sweet. Coffee flavor was mild. I was a little suprised that they charge $ 1 extra for almond milk on a drink that costs only $ 3.50 in the first place. I’ve found regular milk in the grocery store to be about the same price as Almond Milk. Best thing about this place is they have fast Wifi(20 Mbps) as opposed to the abysmally slow WiFi at most Starbucks.

Read the reviews about good coffee here and decided to check it out. Ordered a medium cappuccino. There was maybe 1 shot of espresso in a 16oz cup filled with milk. For being a place that also roasts their coffee, it didn’t smell like coffee. The espresso didn’t have much flavor.

Good espresso drinks, excellent prices. A 16oz mocha + a 16oz flavored latte for $ 6.50ish. Not too shabby when I paid $ 4 for a single 12oz flavored latte at that other place that shall not be named. Funky décor, neat old building. Wish I had found it sooner!

The coffee tastes good but for a «coffee-shop» experience I have to say mine wasn’t good. I came in, not a single person in the shop. I asked it they had wireless connection so I could work. They said yes, I ordered a crêpe and a coffee. Went to connect and their connections was totally messed up. I told them twice that it wasn’t working and they didn’t really care. The whole reason I went there was to work and without a connection I couldn’t work. She didn’t even offer to look into seeing if the connection was actually good or not or to possibly reset the router. Not real friendly, not recommended for a place to hang. Coffee was good though. I like me a local roast.

Their carmel lattes are sweet, as is the Russian(?) barista. She accomodated my requests for a laptop plug in even though she had to unplug a piece of her equipment to do it. Atmosphere is very casual and relaxed; a group of older gentlemen seem to get together regularly in the mornings for old war stories and laughs. Free WIFI is a life saver as I try to get my life organized moving here. Nice place, good coffee, prices, and atmosphere.

I found this café on Unilocal and decided to visit after all th good reviews. It is wonderful. They have amazing coffee, staff members, and easy setting. I walk here 1 – 2 times every week with my baby for a 20oz white chocolate mocha for $ 3.55!

Bargreens has great coffee! I was first a customer at EvCC then the stand on Everett Ave. and now one of the Hewitt Ave. stands. The baristas are friendly and fast. They remember your name and order. Prices are on par with other local espresso stands. Definitely the best coffee I’ve found in Everett.

One of the best local & affordable coffee shops near where I live. It’s been in Everett forever and I like to support my local businesses. Unfortunately it loses a star for having kind of funny hours-it closes before 5 and not open on weekends? and I prefer my coffee places to be open laaaate. Because of that I am rarely able to make it in and the two times I have, it was close to closing and I was unable to sit in one of their cool bar chairs which I really wanted to do and hang out for a bit. I also don’t really like that coffee is self serve but I’ll deal because it probably helps keep costs down and the staff is attentive regardless. I used to be a barista and I’ve always liked the customer to barista interchange and I miss that comradery of coffee-lovers. I like becoming a regular and having the person behind the counter know how I like my coffee. Staff is friendly and prices can’t be beat, plus the furniture and size of it is nice and cozy – would go there far more often if hours were better.

I’ve been coming into Bargreens very frequently for the last few months since I decided to go inside and try their coffee. And the reason is simple — the coffee is amazing, the staff is friendly, and the café is a comfortable place to sit and read the paper, a book, or use your laptop(They have free wi-fi.) The coffee is really great, though. The coffee is better than any I’ve had in the Northwest*. Their espresso drinks are strong, so if you like really strong drinks, you’re in luck. Come early for very tasty fresh drip coffee(Especially the Mt. Baker blend, my personal favorite.) They also have muffins and other baked goods on display for hungry souls. If you’re new to Bargreens and walk in, you might be confused because the baristas tend to be somewhere in the back room, but they always arrive within 10 – 20 seconds after they hear the door. The wait is worth it, though, because all the baristas are very friendly. If you like local roasted, fresh, strong coffee, friendly service, and a cozy environment should give Bargreens a visit. Oh, and Bargreens has been making coffee since the 1890s, and clearly they’ve become pretty good at it. *I’m no coffee connoisseur and my sample base is limited.

Here is your locavore place to be. Bargreens has been an institution in Everett for well over a century. Delicious, reasonably priced locally roasted coffee by the cup or pound. Friendly staff is a plus.

Absolutely the best coffee house in North Everett. Bargreens is a café with a rich history and ingrained customers. The place is old, rustic and has creaky floors, which only adds to it’s appeal. In the morning you can find a vibrant array of white collar and blue collar workers talking, exchanging greetings, and wishing you to have a great day. This is a café alive with history and seasoned customers of all types. Like Cheers, it’s a place where everyone knows everyone. Unlike many other coffee shops that cater to only one demographic and ushers you out the door, Bargreens never assumes and never judges. Oh, and I think they serve pretty damn good coffee, too.

Granted I know everyone that works there, but before I knew anybody there, I always got good service and since the first time I got espresso drinks there it was the best I ever had. I still concider them to make the best drinks including the stand they have at EVCC. Plus I concider their coffee the best local coffee.
