Always have a great experience here. I think it’s probably because I am a guy and I am not as picky about my haircut. The staff is always friendly.

I came in yesterday(2÷2÷2015) with about a year’s worth of grown out mess. I asked for an a-line. I even used had gestures to show the stylist what I meant. Just a standard a-line. If I were looking for something fancy, I’d have gone somewhere else. Plus, I’ve never had a problem at this particular location. I kid you not, the stylist, Jenny, put a number 4 guard on a set of clippers and ran it up the back of my head after doing a tiny bit of trimming on the front and asked me if I wanted hairspray. I asked her to blend the back so it didn’t look like a bowl cut. She did kind of. Once again, didn’t touch the front. So, I told her again that I wanted an a-line and made gestures on my head to show her. She had a look of dawning realization and I had hope. She trimmed the front. However, it is not remotely an a-line. I told her it looked fine so she would stop touching my head and left. Since then, I’ve had 3 people openly laugh at my hair and several people ask me if my 4 year old son got a hold of scissors while I was sleeping or if I tried to cut it myself. The shocked gasps when I reply that it was done«professionally» are equally frustrating. Needless to say, I will be getting it fixed immediately after work by someone who knows what they are doing(Whitney @ Swanq, btw) and will never step foot into any Great Clips ever again. Lesson learned.

I went into this particular salon and got the elderly woman. I informed her that I wanted an asymmetric inverted bob and showed her pictures of front and back. She proceeded to chop off half my hair on one side and then informed me that she couldn’t taper it at an angle if I wanted to keep the length and that I’d have to cut the rest off. I showed her how to fix it and she said she couldn’t do it and that she had NEVERHEARDOFTHECUT I WANTED. At that point I asked her to stop cutting because I now knew that it was hopeless. I asked if someone else at the salon could fix my hair as it was currently looking as though I had taken sheers to my own head. The manager informed me that this would cost double as the appointment time would go over an hour. I told them that I was unhappy with the cut and pointed out that I looked ridiculous at which point they made me pay anyways. Suffice it to say I will never return to THIS great clips. However, it should be noted that I have had fantastic experiences at many of their other salons. This particular one is not customer service friendly though. I also felt the stylist should have mentioned before hand that she didn’t know how to do the cut before lobbing off too much hair. Just saying.

Getting my son’s hair cut. Price is fine but the stylist with the long dark hair needs to cut the attitude. Don’t mean mug your customers and my son is 4, don’t be a bitch when telling him which way he needs to hold his head. Get some people skills and kid skills, it’s not a high end salon, it’s great clips.

Walked in earlier this week, I had Kellie, and she was amazing! I got a drastic haircut, like I usually do.(I love big changes!) And she was just a doll. We chatted it up the whole time and she was happy to change something when I wasn’t too sure about it. Very happy!
