First off this place is not open any more. The people who now own it don’t know how to prepare quality food. The menu is terrible. We went there ordered are food looked at it and decided we didn’t want to take the risk of food poisoning and threw it away. If i could give it zero stars I would have.

I wasn’t sure what to expect but damn, this is GREAT bbq! The pulled pork was tender, juicy and covered in a delicious sweet sauce. The sides of sweet potato fries and hush puppies were awesome. Totally will be back!

Wow and they called it BBQ yuk. Ordered the rib meal with Cole slaw fries and corn bread. The ribs were cold and had been around awhile (days) the slaw was the worst. Corn bread was also old and cold. The sauce was vinegar.

Pretty Fricking nasty. To be fair this is based on the food they served at a catered event. For lunch we had our choice of regular or hot and beans or not. I chose hot and yes please I will have some beans. I grab a fork and dug into this absolutely sauce drenched sandwich there was no way to pick it up. As soon as this«sauce» hit my mouth there was the extremely sour tasting sauce it was absolutely inedible. What a shame. I move on to the beans and these things are the best beans I’ve every had hands down. Come to find out the wife of the guy that put on the event had cooked the beans. Epic Fail

Well, we came here tonight to see a Rolling Stones cover band(don’t ask!) and figured we’d try the food while we were at it. First off, the décor is just… weird. It wants to be cool, but it’s just too mismatched and awkward to pull it off. And nothing seems to be bolted down — all the tables and benches wobbled horribly. I think I got a touch seasick! On to the food; I ordered the smoked chicken with onion rings and fried okra. I really, really wanted the mac and cheese, but alas, they were out. Sucky. Hubby(who also really, really wanted the mac & cheese) ended up getting the brisket with baked beans and garlic mashed potatoes. My chicken tasted like any ol’ rotisserie chicken you’d pick up at the grocery store, but smothered in sauce. Hubby said his brisket was fairly good. The fried okra was great! The sauce that comes with it is really tasty! The onion rings were standard pre-packaged, as were the fried mac & cheese things our friends ordered. The garlic mashed potatoes were icky, totally gluey and WAY too garlicky. I love me some garlic, but DAMN. There was no saving those suckers. The cornbread that comes standard with the meal is just cornbread. Nothing special about it. Maybe a box of Jiffy? Not sure. Overall, the food was just meh. And then there’s the service; good lord, what a train wreck! The lady at the counter had NO idea what was going on and messed up just about every order she took. The gal that brought out the food was no brighter and also messed up both of our orders. The older guy, I’m assuming the owner, was pretty cool though. We probably won’t be back unless the same band is playing there again — They were GREAT!

Great barbeque, great atmosphere and an owner that works his keester off to keep customers coming back again and again. After Famous Daves BBQ opened by Everett Mall, I’ve made it my mission(of sorts) to find really good BBQ that isn’t made from pre-packed rubs that have MSG in them. Wicked Rack is one of them and it is so dad-gum good! I had the Buffalo Burger my first visit, the beef Brisket the second and did the Three Meats/Three Sides meal with the Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork and Chicken plus the Sweet potato Fries, Corn Salad and Baked Beans. They rounded it out with homemade Cornbread and some sauces. I’ve been back several times since and will continue to return simply because the food is great! It isn’t quite the same as old Carolina or Texas BBQ, and has a distinct Northwest flavor(Alder Smoke anyone?) but it’s so tender and delicious you really don’t quibble over the difference. So, as I’ve said before, save the local economy! Skip the chain restaurants and eat at places like Wicked Rack. You’ll be glad you did!

I hate to take away stars, but the last few times i’ve been there, it just wasn’t nearly as good as it was before. The meat quality seems to have gone down. The last pulled pork i got, most of it was inedible burnt chunks and pieces of cartilage. I got the spare ribs, and they also had a lot less edible meat than I would expect at any good bbq joint. Compared to RoRos or the BBQ Shack in snohomish, 3 stars is the best I can do at this point.

Reading all the other reviews, I think I went on an off day at an off time. The place was pretty empty with only one older gentleman manning the kitchen and running around. I opted for the old standby: a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. The total came to about $ 9. You have a choice of sweet or spicey sauce, I choose the sweet since I didn’t know how spicey the spicey was. You get a generous helping of pulled pork for the money, that’s the good part. The bad parts are: you get a lot more sauce than you do pulled pork, talk about«having a little pulled pork with your sauce», the sauce was extremely sweet, and some of the pork was dry(hence all the sauce?). I tried the spicey sauce and it wasn’t bad, it was just hard to taste swimming in all the sweet sauce. The sweet potato fries were okay, there is a house dipping sauce for them that was forgettable. This place is DEFINITELY better than Famous Dave’s, just order the pulled pork with the sauce on the side!

Preferred the sides to the main dishes. The mac-n-cheese was super cheesy, best tasting fried okra I’ve had. They give you a ton of the stuff and it is just pipin’ hot and perfectly fried. The sweet potato fries were also super good. Most places the sweet potato is soggy, but they had super crispy sweet potato fries here. The BBQ ribs were OK, and the chicken was not what I expected. I was expecting maybe BBQ’d chicken, but got chicken breast pieces in BBQ sauce. I would come back to try the fried catfish and more of the okra.

Our new favorite place… 1. the pulled pork is to die for 2. the fried okra has me craving okra ALLTHETIME. it’s because of the sauce(what’s that!) and I have dreams about this treat 3. the owner/operator is a total sweetie, he was wonderful to my daughter and was great to us too. We went in for my hubby’s bday lunch and it was perfect. no frills just crazy crazy good food. 4. ALLYOUCANEATRIBSONWEDNESDAY!!! c’mon people. ribs. good ribs! 5. he serves diamond knot and that makes him a local. we love a local.

Good pulled pork and beef brisket. .. not the best I have ever had, but really good for the Northwest. The sweet potato fries are great, but what makes this a place to go is the owner. Here is a guy that seems to really enjoy what he is doing. Friendly and welcoming is the best way to describe him. We will be back — I want to try a Wednesday evening rib and blues night.

Unseasoned fatty slop food. The sauce is poured on top like ketchup. BURP I feel sorry for the pig who suffered for this meal. I couldn’t eat it. Fresh corn salad? ECK worst vinegar taste and the potato salad was no better. I was warned to bring tums. I didn’t eat enough to be worried. Avoid ribs at the rib joint!

So the other night, I was really in the mood for ribs and I didn’t know any good rib joints around us. I Unilocal’ed it and found this place was really close. After reading the reviews, we decided to try it out. It does just look like a hole in the wall from the outside(the sign on the outside is just a banner covering the name of the last spot’s tennant; for now). VERY friendly employees. I’m pretty sure they were all family. The owner/cook is very personable. There was only 1 other group eating there other than us and the owner was out on the floor chattin’ up a storm with everyone. He was talking about the upcoming events he has line up(they have live blues music on some nights). The food was very good. My girlfriend had a pulled pork sandwich that she said was very good. I got a meal with the spare ribs, fries, corn on the cob, and cornbread. Everying was delicious. The sweet BBQ sauce on the ribs was very good. This is definitely a place we will go to again.

Wicked Rack isn’t new to Everett. He used to be in the Frontier Village area until they kicked him out to build a Walgreens there. We miss him here, but I’m glad to know where he went! His food is awesome and it was great to be able to get something different from the usual fast food fare we have available here. It will be worth the drive to visit him, and it sounds like he’s expanded his menu quite a bit. It’s great to hear he’s doing so well. Anyway, I thought it might be useful to know it’s not really a new business, just a re-located business. It used to be in something like an espresso stand, that was drive through only. Can’t wait to visit the new place! Edit 7÷19÷09: We had lunch here today. The food was awesome! Everybody was friendly. The owner showed us where the new expansion is going to be. It sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun. He’s going to have a full bar, but it will still be family friendly. He wants to have theme nights — the only one I can remember is pajama which sounds fun. But they will have to be family friendly pajamas! There will be karaōke and I think he said Guitar Hero. He said he’s expecting to have the expansion open next week. Wednesdays he already has live music and all-you-can-eat ribs. He doesn’t have a sign yet, so you have to look for the BBQ banner or his Wicked Rack car. You can’t miss the car! For those of you that care about such things, you can get sweet tea and okra. My husband(who is from the south) said the catfish was excellent and much better than Alligator Soul’s. I had the brisket and was only able to eat about 1⁄3 of it. The portion was huge! The location isn’t the best, but go… you won’t be sorry.

OK, so… this week’s Unilocal newsletter was called, «Yelp Smokes the Meat!». Since it was about BBQ places around town, it immediately put me in the mood for some great BBQ. After reading the reviews for downtown, I checked my Unilocal file for something closer to me — and found out about the Wicked Rack. It is right on the other side of Outback Steakhouse off 99(near Everett Mall Way intersection), and as soon as I saw the menu, I knew they had the ‘right stuff’. The thing was, there was no one at the counter! After a bit of waiting, I decided to head to the back, and came upon the owner, who apologised and immediately came out. He’s an easy-going guy, and was prompt in getting me my order — pulled pork sandwich with a side(I chose the Hush Puppies). He asks ‘sweet or spicey’ for the sauce(I picked spicey), and I quickly settled in for a wonderful lunch. The pork was tender, the sauce just great — made my balding head perspire greatly, which is a sure sign — and the Puppies were served with a nice tangy sauce — all delicious! I then started to ask him about the place, and it turns out he has live music(blues) every Wed. night, along with an all-you-can-eat special(I think it was around $ 12.95 per person). Not only that, but things have gone so well in the 8 months since he opened that he has been able to expand twice — with the second expansion happening within the next week or so. The place next door will become part of Wicked Rack’s expansion, and they are going to have a regular stage put in, with music and Comedy Nights on a weekly basis. He’s got ambitious plans, but I think he’s on his way to a very successful venture. You won’t be disappointed!(Better food than Famous Dave’s down the way, and less pricey!)

food= 4 stars service=4 stars atmosphere=3 stars cleanliness=4 stars… its deceiving though as the location looks like a work in progress menu selection=5 stars at first glance this bbq joint looks like a dive as its in a strip mall, the interior is worn, but the saving grace is the yummy BBQ. there is so many great items to choose from and surprisingly southern favorites like fried okra and fried mac and cheese! i was very impressed to see these artery clogging morsels on the menu when i visited Wicked Rack there was just one lady running the whole show and she was busting ass and taking names and getting the food out fast! i was happy with the heat, the taste, the texture on the chicken wings was excellent(Deep fried)… the price is very generous and to top it all off the lady working the place came over and asked how the food was and my party smiled with bbq sauce smothered on our faces with gleeeeee :) This is a gem in a otherwise boring BBQ location of Everett, wa… If you like BBQ and want to try a new place, then give wicked rack a try… i believe you will not be disappointed… food ordered: chicken wings… spicy pulled pork sandwich fried okra sweet potato fries additions: i overheard delivery service is in the works and will be available shortly

My husband and I noticed this new BBQ joint right down the road from our apartment so we decided to check it out. It’s got a fair amount of seating, the menu is nicely varied. The owner is very friendly and interacts with the customers. The prices aren’t really cheap but the food is great. I love their potato salad and their cornbread is slightly unusual but moist and really tasty. I had the pulled pork and smoked chicken and my husband had the ribs and smoked chicken. Very good, the sweet BBQ sauce is devine. This place is new but it has great potential, we’ll be sure to go back again!
