Best BBQ in Everett! No quick-cooking on an electric here. Their meat gets smoked over a pit that is topped with something that looks like it came off a Civil War, iron-clad battleship! They do it right, using hickory and mesquite wood for flavor. Great tasting brisket and pulled pork! If people grouse about the cost of real bbq, they have to remember that when you spend $ 10 on a burger meal, you’re only paying about $.35 of it for that little burger patty that took 2 minutes to cook. With bbq, you’re getting mostly meat, and that meat probably took 12 or more hours to slow smoke to perfection. When you factor in the cost of the product(meat) and the time it takes to cook it, you are really getting a good deal for your money.

Ordered through Grubhub. Very mediocre, mild mild smoke, fattiest cuts, just very blah. Not very southern. My daughters chicken was terrible and inedible.

It’s so nice to finally find good barbecue in Washington state. I moved here from the south 5 years ago and until I came here, had yet to find anything decent. The people are incredibly nice and service is very efficient. Their brisket ends are incredible. Thank you!!!

Good good food. Brisket greens mac and cornbread. I ordered a couple of trays of chicken brisket and pull pork for a party last month. Everyone loved it. Pretty good que for pnw. Much better than a chain so called bbq restaurant. Just went by today for a $ 5 brisket sandwich.

Food: I visited this place twice both I had amazing food. The meats are cooked to perfection, seasoned to balance and well portioned food makes this place high on my list. I am from TX and this is the only place that I found on the Western side of the mountains that I would consider the food to be worth it every time. Service: friendly, knowledgeable staff and their recommendations are always worth the wile. The staff is great and they go out of their way to accommodate the customer and recommend things that might fit your taste. Price: Don’t forget to ask about the military and/or Boeing discount. The food is priced in the proper area. It might be a little high to Everett standard pricing, but I promise you it’s worth it. I recommend this place.

I like this place. I’ll be back again that’s for dang sure. It wasn’t perfect, but it was really good and really cool. Try it. Okay, so now for the more detailed discussion… The sweet tea. Holy crap. The Momma’s Sweet Tea was almost with worth the price of admission by itself. It was really that good. Best I’ve had in quite a long time. Quite sweet with just a perfect hint of lemon in it. I got the 3 meat combo with ribs, chicken and pulled pork. Sides were mac and cheese and baked beans. Ribs: they were good. Not fantastic, but good. They were obviously smoked, so that was good. Very meaty, but just a tiny bit of chew to them. So they could have maybe been a bit more tender. Good flavor though. Whatever rub they used had a good flavor without being overpowering. With the three meat combo I got three ribs. Chicken: I got a joint of leg and thigh. It was really tender. Good flavor, but I am not entirely sure it had been smoked. If someone doesn’t like super smokey barbecue, like my missus, that would be a really good choice. Pulled pork: Really excellent. Very tender and a decent amount. Great flavor. Probably my favorite of the three meats. I’m sure it would be really good on a sandwich. Mac and cheese. Another really good example. Best I’ve had on this score too. Flavorful. Beans were excellent. Gonna have to get the collard greens next time.

Okay, so… I’d heard a few good things about this place, so I wanted to try out — and honestly, it was not a good choice. The cobbler was terrible, I actually spit out the first bite I took. They got my sandwich order wrong, although the pulled pork was good tasting. I’ve had better for cheaper, but it wasn’t bad. But the brisket was way too fatty and barely there. Overall, a negative culinary experience. Unless or until they get a new chef and better ingredients(canned peaches for a restaurant cobbler? Really?) I would definitely NOT recommend here. The only upside is that they say the are going to contact grubhub and try to get me a refund.

Had a coupon for this place and the reviews were good so I decided to try them out. Drive through carry out only with a small parking area and a couple of tables available. The pulled pork, brisket, and rib meats were very good. The chicken was moist and flavorful but lacked any smoky flavor. Sides were ok but I’ve had better. We had two of the 4 meat sampler dishes and split between four people with food left over. I’ll go back but still looking for a really great BBQ. Go try it, you might like it!

I had this at the Edmonds Arts fair and I will definitely be frequenting thier Everett location. The beef brisket was exceptional. Try to Little pulled pork it was also very tender and not overly salted. Very friendly staff an exceptional barbecue. The best I’ve had in an extremely long time. Very hard to find this type of good quality barbecue in the northwest.

The staff was super friendly and that’s as far as the positivity goes unfortunately. The ribs were dry, overlooked and had a leathery texture. The Mac and cheese had promise but wasn’t creamy or flavorful. Bummer town.

This place has really good food. The service/delivery was fast and friendly. There wasn’t anything wrong with the food or the service. Why only three stars? The PRICE! I’m sorry, it’s good BBQ, but it’s not worth what you’re charging for it. $ 32 for a combo plate with 2 sides and corn bread is just too much. I was taken back when the driver handed me a bag with just one styrofoam container. I can’t imagine what justification there would be for such prices. The restaurant is basically a shack on 99 with an outdoor BBQ pit, can’t cost that much. Don’t think I’ll be back.

Alrighty! This is my very first review and I’ve been a member for 4 years, so that should say a lot. Also – I’m about to say a lot, but I promise it will be worth it. 1st off: I’m FROM Memphis and now living in Everett, WA. I was on GrubHub one night with my husband looking for something that delivered one night, and we stumbled upon Memphis Pit BBQ… very intrigued and excited, we ordered A LOT of different things to sample… because if it really was Memphis BBQ, we couldn’t wait to try it all. This is what we ordered: Sampler with pulled pork, dry rubbed chicken, dry rubbed pork ribs Smoked Sausage Sliders Pulled Pork Sandwich Sides: BBQ Beans Cole Slaw Corn Bread Dessert: Peach Cobbler Banana Pudding Yes, there were only two of us. Here was the 1st(yes, 1st) experience: DELICIOUS. I’m not even joking when I say that I got chills when I bit into the pulled pork sandwich – because that’s what Memphis does best. My very favorite of everything. The dry rubbed chicken was moist and delicious, definitely a pit smoke flavor to it though. The ribs fell off the bone and tasted great. The smoked sausage sliders were a close second for favorite – the coleslaw on them really helped even out any spiciness. A little messy, though. I’m also very picky about coleslaw and I really liked theirs. Sadly, we didn’t get our cornbread. I was really looking forward to trying it because every place I’ve had cornbread here in the PNW it’s been sweet – very sweet. And that’s not«real» cornbread. ;) The banana pudding is a definite winner – could have eaten so much of that stuff! ****The peach cobbler on the other hand, was THEWORST peach cobbler I have EVER had. 1st it tasted like someone dumped an entire container of nutmeg into it, and it had diced peaches… like little squares. WTH? Seriously DON’T TRYIT! You’ll be very sad… unless you order two desserts like we did and had something as great as the banana pudding to take the awful taste out of your mouth. Overall our first experience was a pretty good one. We liked almost everything and I was so excited to have something that tasted like home close to me!(only 3.4 miles!) We enjoyed it so much that the very next day we decided to go there for lunch and see where it was! 2nd experience: We get there, park instead of doing the drive through because it was a gorgeous, sunny, warm day. We walk up to the little door – the set-up there was weird, but I’m assuming it’s primarily a drive-up establishment. I talked to the cook, told him how excited i was and that we had tried it the night before, etc. Anyway – we order, I get the pulled pork again, and my husband gets the brisket this time. Another good experience, the food was great… took a little bit of time, but we expected it because they had just opened and they told us it would. But since we were pulled over, we did notice others in line… we saw two people leave because it was taking so long for the cars in front of them. Even still by the time we got our food the line was 4 long – if you have *time* to wait, I think it’s mostly worth it! Oh, and the cornbread WAS sweet — but just barely so. I would definitely eat it again… perfect combination. 3rd experience: We were going camping and my in-laws wanted to taste some of the BBQ I bragged to them about! Unfortunately, this experience is why they are missing two stars. :( We ordered a party platter – called 4 or 5 days in advance to order it, told them when we would be picking it up and then even got a confirmation phone call the day before, and told them EXACTLY what time we would be picking it up since we were leaving to go camping. My husband goes to pick up our order… and waits for 45MINUTES because they had forgotten about the whole chicken we ordered… and when he first got there they didn’t tell him about it, nor did they tell him about it after waiting for 15 minutes… they waited until he banged on the window asking when he would get his food to let him know about their mistake. We had a lot to do, this was ordered and arranged very much so in advance, so this was completely unacceptable. They did refund our chicken, but they also asked him *IF* he wanted to wait on it to be finished or just taken off… uhm…we called in advance so we could have it, and already waited 45 freaking minutes, so yes. We will wait. In total he was waiting there for close to an hour for a pick-up order. Oh… and DON’T ORDERTHEMACARONI! It was the grossest thing I’ve ever tasted. Worse than the peach cobbler. This restaurant has *SO* much potential. It seems to me like the cook/pit master is also the manager/owner. I am pretty sure that if they could get their ducks in a row with someone that knows how to run a business, and not just someone who can make some AMAZING food, it would be a bigger hit. If it was an actual restaurant I wouldn’t mind waiting a little longer on my food to come out – but when it’s a drive-up – it’s harder to be patient.

Real BBQ that smells like smoke, just like every good BBQ place does. Their brisket was great and tasted very recently cooked. No old BBQ here like at other places

First off: The most negative reviews almost convinced me not to order, then I check profiles, peeps came on made profile and never came back. Bad Form. ** So after 20 yrs in the food industry back east am always skeptical about BBQ out here. Memphis and Carolina are my favorites so I was curious. The pulled pork was REAL pulled pork, not chopped and dry. This had subtle smoke flavor, was moist and was great on its own or with the sauce(on side). Brisket was a little heavier smoke flavored, but moist and flavorful with good smoke ring. LOVED the ribs, moist, juicy and with perfect nuanced flavor. These are NOT fall apart, which is not Memphis, they have great tooth feel and are the best Ive had since leaving the BBQ belt. Potato salad and coleslaw weren’t stand out but were not bad. FAST service and worth every penny. Will be ordering again!

I’ve had a lot of great barbecue in my time and when I saw that GrubHub was doing deliveries for this place, I thought I’d give them a shot, since it would make a nice change from the tiny handful of delivery options in my area(basically pizza, Chinese food or Indian food — the latter two of which I just have no interest in), so I decided to give them a shot. BIGMISTAKE. I ordered three of the ½ pound pulled pork sandwiches(intending to have one that evening and save one for lunch for the next day and one for my housemate), two of the sweet teas, a baked potato and a peach cobbler. The sides are lackluster — boring beans, cornbread, potato salad or something else. Lacking any better options(ie. no option for no sides at all), I ordered the potato salad and had them leave the cole slaw off of the sandwiches, because gross. It took nearly 2 hours for the food to arrive(the delivery guy was quite nice) but when I took a bite of my sandwich, I could immediately see what a horrible mistake I’d made and that I probably should have just ordered some friggin’ pizza. To start off, the bun on the sandwich had this weird saltiness to it that I’ve never experienced on any other bun. The meat inside had very little sauce and the flavor of the meat was really odd. There was some kind of spice or something added to it that gave it this vague taste of Mexican food. Beyond that, though, it was just this overwhelming taste of something else that’s supposed to tell your brain ‘hey, this was smoked!’. Another review I read later said it was liquid smoke, so I’m guessing that was probably the culprit. The sauce was literally the blandest, most boring, flat, rubbish barbecue sauce I’ve ever tasted. Again — kinda like how the liquid smoke is supposed to tell your brain that ‘THISISSMOKEDFOODTHATYOUAREEATING’, the sauce was saying ‘THISISSOMETHINGTHATYOUPUTONTHESMOKEDFOODFOREXTRAFLAVOR’. No kick, no hickory, no vinegar, just… red. Red sauce. That you put on stuff that is smoked. Super nasty. I barely made it three bites into the sandwich when I found a nice hunk of bone amidst the meat. Swell. My housemate said that can happen sometimes, but it’s like I pointed out to her — I have *never* found a piece of bone in any other bbq I’ve had in my life. Ever. The potato salad was… I don’t even know what to call it, but it wasn’t potato salad. I mean, again — this was a ‘salad’ made from potatoes and other stuff but it was grainy, didn’t taste like anything(anything pleasant anyway) — no mustard, like you’d expect with Southern-style bbq, nothing. It might have had mayo in it, but honestly, I could hardly tell — it was packed into this weensy cup and basically looked like plaster you’d use to seal up a hole in your wall. The tea was an atrocity. It’s called«Mommies Sweet Tea» but that’s an insult to Southern mothers and sweet tea everywhere. Like, seriously, Pacific Northwesterners — don’t try to skimp or save or ‘lighten up’ or ‘diet up’ this stuff. It’s tea. Real tea. Sugar. And ice. That’s it. Not that hard. I don’t know what this stuff was, but I took one sip and dumped both cups of the stuff down the sink. It was clearly a mix, and mixed poorly to boot. They’re obviously hoping to save some time and/or money by using this stuff, but they either don’t mix it properly or don’t care that they’re not mixing it properly, because you don’t taste tea — all you taste is sour. Like, the kind of sour that you get when you put too much Sweet & Lo in your tea, only worse. I don’t know if the bad flavor was because it was a mix or because they put some fakey chemical no-cal sweetener into it, but it was disgusting. Mommies Sweet Tea, indeed. The only two things that were actually passable were the baked potato(they make you choose between Potato with Butter, Potato with Sour Cream or Potato with other stuff — no option for a loaded potato and there wasn’t even any butter on mine, although I specifically asked for it — wtf?) and the peach cobbler(not great, but at least I didn’t find any bones in it!). Oh, and here’s the kicker — I call GrubHub right away and tell them that the food was disgusting and they text me later, saying ‘oh, the manager isn’t there, but we’ll try again tomorrow’. They actually do finally get back to me, only to tell me that this shithole refuses to refund the $ 60 — sixty green dollars, people — I spent on this, but is instead willing to give me a coupon for 10% off my next order(even though I specifically told GH that I did NOT want a coupon or discount or anything of the sort — I wanted a refund, period) and when I told GH that wasn’t acceptable, GH just basically shrugged and said ‘too bad, they’re not giving you a refund, here’s a $ 10 coupon’. GrubHub has lost a customer and suffice to say, this place should be shut down. They don’t know the first thing about real barbecue. It’s probably run by clueless ‘artisan bbq’ hipsters. Ugh.

I stopped by today to try this place out. I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered the kids plate with 1 side(bbq beans). Excellent flavor on the ribs and priced well for the portion. I will definitely return. I rated only 4 due to the seating but don’t let that deter you. I would be fine eating outside sitting on a tailgate.

I drive by this location all the time and I’m a great lover of BBQ as well as spending quite a bit of time tending my own smoker so I was excited when the BBQ flags went up along the road. One day smoke started pouring out of the smokers and there were quite a few employees standing around so we whipped in to try it out. Try 1: They informed me they didn’t open until the next day at 11am. So we left. Try 2: We came back the following day at 1pm. We figured we’d give them a couple extra hours to make sure things were done. They had no food. As in NO food ready. Try 3. We came back a week later figuring they’d have it figured out how to work a smoker at that point AND we came at 3pm. They only had chicken. I really didn’t want a chicken that takes me 15 minutes to cook on the grill at home so we left. Try 4. We waited another month to let them figure out how to put meat in the smoker. As time went on the lines have been getting shorter so we figured our chances of getting food would be getting larger. We arrived at the window and they were out of brisket, and chicken and most of their sides. But they did have pulled pork and beans. We go two pulled pork sandwiches and beans. They told us to pull around and wait. THIRTY minutes later the girl comes out and says they have no beans. I told her to give me whatever side they could find. And she asked«for both sandwiches?». No sweetheart, I don’t want anything for one even though I paid for it. Of course for both! Another 5 minutes later we get our Pulled Pork Sandwiches. Which were nearly raw. The flavor was flat like it had sat in a slow cooker and wasn’t even done. We didn’t finish the sandwiches. I’m giving them 2 stars for their blind optimism that they can cook BBQ. In the four chances I’ve given them to prove this we’ve had some great conversations about BBQ and I’d like to think they really can’t cook something and they’ll get it figured out at some point how to run a business but I don’t think that’s likely. I don’t think they’ll last until spring. There are two requirements to opening a restaurant — you have to be able to make food and you have to be able to sell it to people which means you have to actually cook it. Memphis pit fails on both accounts. If you want BBQ drive to Rainin Ribs in Lake City. I’d hate to say it at least Dicky’s near Memphis Pit actually has food(even though it’s not that great).

So the brisket was so good yesterday in the sampler, I had to go back and get more. I got the Brisket Platter this time. I had the beans again, and wanted to try the mac and cheese, but they were out. They were also out of the peach cobbler, but I tried the apple crisp, it was very good, a perfect compliment to the brisket and beans. Tommy is really a cool guy. They were busy, about 4 cars waiting for orders. I got smart and called my order in ahead of time, so I didn’t have to wait too long once I got there. Glad they are busy, it means the word is getting around, but they run the risk of getting overloaded if they are not careful. Hope that doesn’t happen.

Awesome ribs and brisket! Very good pulled pork. Baked beans and mac n cheese were also quite good. Cornbread was nice and moist, but nothing to write home about. Peach cobbler was topped with pie crust and well spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, but probably not worth a second buy. Definitely stopping by here again!

Great customer service and owners! A little stand on the side of the road with 5star food and service. We had the BBQ brisket sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. It came with a side of potato salad which had a kick to it. Added the famous mommas sweet tea. This has got to be the best yet!
