YUMMMMMMMM! The husband and I have been here a few times. It’s no more than 5 minutes from the time we order until the food is sitting in front of us. The Boston butt and smoked chicken were to die for! The mac n cheese is better than moms. There’s 3 different BBQ sauces to choose from, I love their original sauce because it’s not spicey at all. I can’t find anything wrong this place. AND they have a drive thru!!!

I live nearby, so I pass by this place all the time. I went in tonight on an impulse and was not disappointed. They make everything as you order it, so the service isn’t exactly fast, but it is worth the wait. Great choice of meats and sides. Got a two meat plate with pulled pork and brisket with Mac and cheese and fried okra as a side. It was delicious. The brisket was tender and the fried okra was just what I was looking for. If you are looking for good Texas style barbecue, this is the place for you!

Rib meat smelled old so we didn’t eat it, green beans were mushy and chicken was dry. Would definitely not recommend. Very big disappointment.

5 stars because the food is so freaking great. I love the options for plates, the different types of meats, and a big variety of sides. Every time I come the food is delicious. –1 star because it’s obvious the employees do not like working there. It took a few minutes for them to acknowledge me when I was standing right in front of them. It’s awkward and off putting to order and eat somewhere when the staff isn’t friendly! That won’t stop me from coming back though.

I wish I could say that I was a fan, but growing up on Chicago BBQ, it fell short of what I imagined it would be. The brisket was dry and without the sauce … Thankfully my meal was free to me today.

Been coming here for quite sometime. Food is always good. Sauces are good, most side items are good(I prefer the mac n cheese). Portions are large. Sweet Tea is delicous! Nothing bad to say.

I can’t believe how big the portions are here compared to other bbq places. Food and service is always top notch. We come here more often then we should but it’s the easiest place my wife and I always agree on for going out. Dating advice for men: Take your girlfriend here, if she doesn’t like good BBQ, she’s not marriage material. You’ll thank me later.

Been here about 3x so far. First time was fine, 2nd time was so so, today… meh. First off, the speaker was SOLOUD I could not hear what the worker people were saying from behind the bar. Had to ask them to please turn it down and they acted irritated at that. Honestly, I don’t need to FEEL the music/sound…couldn’t have held a conversation if we wanted to with that blaring. 4 of us had the 2 meat platter. Mostly brisket and chicken. Both were pretty bland and the chicken tasted like artificial liquid smoke… yuck. None of the meats were hot and none of the side dishes, like mac & cheese, potato casserole, beans, etc. were hot to temperature. The beans, however,(regular beans at that, i.e., BBQ beans) were quite spicy. Never made BBQ beans that were spicy… strange, that one. Roll was dipped in butter but it was not hot or didn’t even really taste cooked. $ 12.50 for platters but you don’t get a drink. Amount of meat was on the smallish side. Kids meals for free on Sundays is a plus! And theirs come with drinks — yeah! Don’t know whether we’ll go back here again or not. Too bad because the concept is pretty good it’s just that execution is lacking at this location.

No flavor. Overpriced. Just bland. Best thing is free ice cream. I will continue to drive to lake city to raining ribs

I normally do not like chain restaurants, but I wanted to try this as the concept seems original. The meat was alright but I was not that impressed with the choice of sides. Seems like roasted potatoes or steamed vegetables would be a good addition to their menu for people who cannot eat or are not in the mood for their less healthy offerings.

Pretty darn good BBQ. Tried the half rack, and 1 meat plate. Fried okra, shoestring onions and mac n cheese. All was good. Best part was kids eat free on Sunday and free soft serve ice cream. I enjoyed the hot and spicy sauce. It was heated!

Well, I’m from back east and let me tell you, we know our BBQ. Since coming to Seattle area, this is something we had resigned ourselves to just learn to live without because there doesn’t seem to be a presence of it here. Sure, there is Famous Dave, but that’s Mcdonald’s like assembly line stuff, which can be hit or miss. Happened to drive past Dickeys on my way home and decided to double back and give it a try. From the outside, I expected a dive, but was a very pleasant surprise inside. Place was immaculate, the staff greeted us immediately and were very welcoming. Not having been here before, they were very patient with us as we looked over the menu trying to decide offering suggestions and recommendations. They even offered us samples of some of the sides as we asked questions. We got 3 of the 3 meal plates figuring to get a good sampling of everything this way. I also got a pound of the pulled pork to round it all out. After fighting traffic to get back home, we reheated everything, divided it up and dug in. Wow. The sides were fantastic, which is good because sometimes the sides just go along for the ride and mostly end up trashed or left to dry out in the fridge. Not these sides. They were all good and we had 6 of them. Then moving on to the stars of the show, the meats. We had brisket, pulled pork, ribs and smoked sausage. I started with the pulled pork which was very moist but needed just a bit more sauce because the outer parts of the pile had dried up a bit from travelling and reheating. Then I tasted the brisket, also very tasty. Since we were all sharing one portion of smoked sausage, I only took 2 slices on my plate, big mistake! It was just fantastic. This brings me to the ribs. After taking one bite of a rib, I realized immediately that I made an error in judgement by getting the extra pork and should have gotten extra ribs. The ribs were to die for delicious. We are absolutely going back again, Famous Dave, you have seen the last of us buddy. It’s been a good run, no hard feelings, but you can find us at Dickeys from now on. Although I still am a sucker for that bread pudding at Famous Daves… I didn’t look to see if desserts were offered at Dickeys, which I probably should have. I’m sure they would have been just as tasty as everything else.

I had a mighty urge for some bbq, and figured it was time to veer from the usual Famous Dave’s. I’d wanted to try Dickey’s for some time, so we headed on over there. Golly, it was a real bummer. Wife and I each got a rib plate which comes with two sides. The ribs were moist and tender, but fatty. Flavor was fine. It was maybe a three-star plate of meat. The sides, on the other hand, were soul-sucking. Wife got the mac n’ cheese and the green beans. The mac n’ cheese was close to inedible: it was maybe Velveeta and noodles, and it was cold. The green beans had been killed, and were also not worth consuming, despite the fact that they’d actually cost money. My sides were deep-fried okra and bbq beans. The okra was okay, though it would be neato if they had a veggie side that didn’t give one heartburn, such as the steamed broccoli at Dave’s. The bbq beans didn’t taste like«bbq» until I broke up the complementary onion into it, and poured some bbq sauce into it too. Then they were ok. The complementary roll is nothing special, and might be better if they offered honey or something with it. The butter on top had dried up by the time I was ready to put it in my mouth. Fortunately, diners can make themselves a free vanilla soft-serve kid cone. It wasn’t much, but wife and I agreed it was the best part of the $ 38 meal.

Let me preface myself and say, I have not had BBQ from the Lone Star State, nor from either of the Carolinas. So my only reference is Seattle’s own, Home of Good BBQ up on Yesler, a place we frequented in my childhood for 2 reasons. 1) It «was» damn good 2) It «was» damn cheap. Two things bug me about BBQ in the PNW, it’s really overall rather«meh» and second it’s damn expensive. Yes, I know it takes hours upon hours of «cook’n» time but come on, it’s supposed to be the cheap cuts of meat, so why is it so pricey? I digress, onto my review… Dickey’s is a franchise, I don’t have any real issues with that, but you might understand my 3 Unilocal’n stars, I hope, in the next few paragraphs. First off, the location is in one of the many of 3 – 5 store stripmalls along 128th St SW, not something I have a real issue with since there was plenty of parking, granted it wasn’t all that busy but it just felt a bit to fast-foodie and not a restaurant I wanted to sit and stay. As you enter and get your«red neck» groove on via country music, fake wood panels walls, etc. As you saunter up to the counter you place your order with the«meat» cutter, he’s got 1 job, yuuuuuuuup, cut da meat. Next up is the«side» order person, while trying to place my order of 1 kids meal, a rack of ribs and 2 other platters/meals, it was a bit of a mass confusion to get all the sides ordered to match the plates. The plate/platters seem to be best option, you get any type(s) of meat and 1 – 2 sides, all served up on a prison tray, I mean metal platter, think«country» folks… Drinks come in 2 size, «kids» and«Giant» sizes they are served up in yellow hard plastic drink cups, which really seemed like a huge waste, we ended up taking our’s home to use for scooping up dog food. Drinks are refillable via a 6 – 7 drink fountain, 2 – 3 vats of ice tea are available, plain or Southern sweet. A hidden gem of the place is the free self-serve vanilla softserve ice milk/cream, it was a nice end of meal treat, and saved us from heading across the street to DQ afterward. Onto the«meat»… we tired beef brisket, pork ribs and chopped pulled pork. In my opinion the chopped pork looked the best. I found the brisket a bit dark in color, salty, and dried out. Pork ribs, as others have mentioned are held in a warmer and wrapped in plastic wrap. I see why the have to do this, I mean, it is very hard to hold bbq’ed meat at a certain temp without drying it out, hence that is my best guess with the dried out brisket. Chopped pork on the other hand is made up fresh to order, a nice piece of pork was pulled out of warmer and wracked to pieces, the Mrs. enjoyed her’s, like I said it really looked good, I wasn’t offered a taste, ahem… The pork ribs, I assume is the focus of the place, and as I mentioned, are held in plastic wrap, which does 2 things, it keeps the ribs moist and the meat tender, the bad part is, it makes the outer«crust» of the meat, a mess and basically non-plus, and the meat temps a bit above lukewarm, here you will find no rich crispy bbq«bark». I did find the pork ribs decent in flavor, couldn’t really see much of a smoke-ring, and firm to the bite, meaning it didn’t really fall off the bone, unless you sunk your teeth in and really pulled. BBQ sauces were actually some of my favorite finds in recent years. The«original» was solid, a bit of vinegar and sweetness, a nice spice combo. The Mrs enjoyed the«sweet» version and Grams found the«hot/spicy» to have a nice heat backnote. I liked the fact that the ribs and meat are dry rubbed, bbq’ed/smoked and served naked, you can add as little or as much sauce as you like. I like the fact you can still taste the meat the dry rub was good. Sides weren’t high on my list, the number of choices were nice, but I saw the green beans being served up, they were a sad overcooked pale green color, the slaw was rather sweet, and the Baked Potato Casserole looked amaze-balls on the website but in person it was a lame cup of mashed pots with some cheese, bacon and green onion. The amount served in the cup was rather sad too. The servers were nice and all, the ordering process was a mess and hurried, I hate that style, if I’m staring up at the sky/menu board, with my mouth open drooling, please give me a second or two to wipe my face and figure out what’s going on. The vibe here is a bit too franchise-y meaning they tried hard to give the place a «country» feel and look. I felt like I was stuck between a NASCAR event and weekend hoedown, and me without my overalls…

Great service! Even better BBQ! Finally found a spot in Snohomish County, where the BBQ doesn’t taste old or dry! PLUS, they have«bakers» ~ baked potatoes, with all the meat & fixins you want!!! Oh my! After writing this… I’m getting so hungry again, that I’m even going back today! Yumbers!!!

I have never been a huge fan of barbecue…(I’m pausing, because if I get hit by lightning for saying that, i don’t want to waste anymore time typing…)… OK, it looks like the coast is clear, lol. So, yes, I said it. Have never been a fan. However, we rent out our former home to a couple from Texas, and even THEY said to try the fried okra. So, we went. My hubby always goes for some sort of mixed meat plate, and he always likes it. He gets to choose between beef, brisket, turkey, chicken, a few different type of sausage. One is a cheddar filled sausage, and I believe one is a Polish variety. Regardless, everything we had tried so far has been great. It’s a new place and you can tell that some of the staff is still training, but so far, after 4 visits, everything has been spot on; consistent, still warm, and tasty. My personal favorite is the beef brisket sandwich. It’s simple — Meat, bun, some fresh cut white onion and pickle slices if you so choose, and that’s about it. You can also request either a slice or some shreds of cheddar. You get your BBQ sauce on the side, and they have three kinds; Original, spicy, and sweet. All of them are good. I honestly can’t pick a favorite, although to meet somewhere in the middle, I’ve been sticking to the original as of late. The sides aren’t overly amazing, but they are good. Keep in mind that this is basically one tiny notch about fast good BBQ. I’ve tried several of what they have to offer, and I’ll just break it down for you here… Waffle Fries: Exactly what you’d expect. Hot, generally good tasting as long as they ARE hot, and worth ordering if you like that sort of thing. Mac and Cheese: I’ve had it twice. The first time, I didn’t like it at all. It reminded me of the crap you got served at lunchtime in the elementary school cafeteria. Last time, this week, it was actually REALLY good. The taste had improved, the consistency had improved, and I liked it a lot. Will have to try it a third time to see what the heck is going on here. Any of the beans: Haven’t tried, but they have a few options. Fried Okra: Haven’t tried, to my friend’s dismay. I want to, though. My friend thought it was the bomb-diggity. Potato casserole: Think of it as warm potato salad. It’s pretty average. You’ll have to add salt and pepper for yourself before you figure out whether you like it or not. Caesar Salad: Underwhelming. Leaves were chopped weird, dressing was almost non-existent, was just some dry shredded romaine leaves with no lemon, no tomato, no croûton, no nothing. Is it the best BBQ you’ve had? If you are a BBQ connoisseur, then no. Is it the best BBQ place around here? Arguably. If you are just looking for a decent BBQ place where you have good service, reasonable prices, a clean restaurant, some nice guys working there, and consistently delicious food, then this is your place. I like it, my hubby likes it, my BFFs both like it, and I think you will too. Try it and let me know.

This wasn’t a great first experience. I phoned in my order and I should have been concerned when they didn’t take my name. They have my offer to the guy in front of me and then I stood there waiting for them to make mine. The food was pretty good and worth giving them another shot. FYI the Mac’n’cheese isn’t Kraft, if that’s all your kids will eat.
