Went by the other day, I’m pretty sure they have closed up shop, which is a bummer.

I wish i can give NEGATIVESTARS!!! So I guess this restaurant is closed to the general public unless you rent out the place for banquets. We(our family) rented the place for a wedding reception and it was the worst service we ever had. We decided to hire their«in house decorator» and with the amount of money we paid for the quality was terrible. I had to tell the decorator how to place the cheap looking flower arrangements(the«vases» were regular dinner plates), the wedding table wasn’t even in the middle of the stage, and the cake table didn’t even match with any of the decoration. It’s common sense if you are a decorator to make the stage area color coordinated. It feels like they literally charged us two grand to pick flowers from their backyard, fake rose petals, and table linens from the fabric store and call it good. Their quality is cheap and a rip off. DON’T USETHEM!!! The food quality was terrible. All plates came out cold and extra greasy. We had to ask the server multiple times to bring out our food. When some of the tables got their soup the server literally just drop off the bowl and walked away.(normally they would serve the soup in the bowls before leaving– some server did it and not others) When we made that complained they look at us and just walked away. Many tables had that happen to them.(Also to include tips are already included in the bill.) The other dishes were poor looking and most people left hungry because they cut of the portions. We also got a permit to serve liquor at the restaurant but strangely they refused to let us bring in our own beers but made us order from them and they will tally what they served. Strangely but not surprised the servers were so willing to walk around with beers in their hand and offer to guests even guest that said no, they asked again. Really pushing people to have a beer. Each beer was charge $ 3.50 so of course they’re racking up the bill. But when it comes to food the servers were no where to be found. By the end of the night– when talking to the owner we complained and she just nod. I told her it was the worst service and we should be accommodated for the service they didn’t provide. The owner just look at me and said«well you’re not the bride»(meaning my opinions and complaints didn’t matter) and after refusing to take our credit card as payment(because they didn’t want to report the tax of course). Our family just wanted to get it over with and made the payments. After that she just walked off with a smirk. With this sort of service I will never come back to this place. It’s definitely not worth the headache and complaints we received from guests. INALL! DON’T EVERGOTOTHEM!

Why would anew establishment be closed for remodeling? Sounds very suspicious to me. Food was good, but lacked friendly help. Most couldn’t understand English.

We were denied entry because we were white. Hours posted said they were open. We were turned away at the door. When we were walking out, other people were allowed in. And guess what. They were not white. We were told they were«remodeling». But its a brand new store and the place had a lot of tables filled with patrons. No construction going on at all. And lots of domestic cars in parking lot. Don’t know why we were lied to. Usually this place is ok. But looks like we will have to go to Seattle for dim sum now.

I am rating this as 1 star, after having been 3 – 4 times. This last time, we didn’t even stay. The dining format has devolved to a self-serve style. To cut costs, there is little to no wait staff, and it shows. The place is a mess. As in filthy staging area or questionably clean or dirty utensils, plates, trays, etc. The queue is long because the food is not replenished quickly enough to move the line along, when people in the front load up their trays(diners do this probably to avoid wanting to get back in line again). Dining format aside, the last two times I went here, the food was room temperature but decent. Overall, it’s a shame. I’m disappointed in this new format. And I will probably not return.

Pretty decent Dim Sum here. It’s the best I’ve had so far north of Chinatown/Bellevue. The service is pretty good. I came here on a Monday afternoon for lunch and was seated immediately. There was a pretty decent sized crowd but there were always waiters/waitresses walking around that you could get the attention of and they were all pretty friendly. The style of serving dim sum here is a little different. Instead of ordering off a menu or picking dishes out of carts, you walk towards the back of the restaurant with your check to pick what dishes you want in a cafeteria style set up. When you’re done picking whatever you want an employee marks your bill with whatever you decided to eat and then you walk back to your table to eat. As far as the dim sum goes: Har gau, siu mai, chicken feet, etc, are all pretty average and satisfied my dim sum cravings. Overall, this is a pretty good place for dim sum lunch and is a good option for people in Snohomish county that don’t feel like driving to chinatown.

I don’t know why I even give places like this a chance. Let’s face it, there will be no great dim sum places in Snohomish county ever. Why? Because people in Snohomish county aren’t exactly discerning dim sum eaters. Having said that, I went here anyway just in case I was wrong(I wasn’t). The food was mediocre. My son ordered the Generals chicken which he probably shouldn’t have done at a Dim Sum restaurant and he never finished it because it was just not right. The dim sum was average and roughly equivalent to the worst dim sum places in the ID. My recommendation would be to just drive down to the International district and eat there(Sun Ya has a parking lot).

Been passing by this place many times the last few months and I always joke about the grand opening sign been up for months. We were skeptical as it is located in the strip mall and next to K-mart. But we finally decided to just give it a try last weekend. First impression was great. The place looks very grand with beautiful chandeliers, cork wood carving and large open dinning room with private room too. We went there a big early(about 1030 am) so there were not too many customers at the time. We were anxious to order wondering what would be the food like as we have been to many Dim Sum places in the past few years from Hawaii to Vancouver BC. When the cart came, we saw all the usual items so we ordered what we normally would order just to compare. Har Gao, Xiu Mai, Sticky rice, Chicken Feet,… to name a few. We were thoroughly pleased with the taste and flavor. The Dim Sum were fresh. Like any other Dim Sum places, more variety started to come out around 11 am and more and more people started to show up. But the quality of service remains. Our glass of water never emptied and we don’t have to wait long for the cart to come by after we order. Final tally of the bill was reasonable. Very comparable to the other Dim Sum places. This place is definitely the top 3 Dim Sum places we ever ate at. Worth a visit.

I’ll preface this by saying you’ll want to read my whole review. I’ll break down our dining experience from start to finish… :) This rating was agreed that 3.5 stars would more accurately reflect our feelings, but rounding rules say that becomes a 4. Walking in through the electric sliding door told me this wasn’t always a restaurant. Maybe some kind of banquet hall but not just an everyday dining location. The vibe is funky. Tall ceilings and big chandeliers. Not what I expected. The booths were large and comfy. The table spaced nicely so you didn’t have to rub elbows with your neighbor. We started with some tea. It was pretty tasty. I don’t like floral explosions from my tea and I’m always cautious of that pediment floating at the bottom, but it was pretty standard. I liked it, the wife found it to be a bit bland. We perused the handy colored guide to dim sum and settled on a few items. This is one part I was really happy with. This wasn’t your traditional carted mini buffet but instead it was fresh prepared to order dim sum. Digging that! We tried a few new things and a couple of standard items. I almost wish there was an ingredients list because we got a few surprises, but all were welcome. We also ordered a couple of main dishes so that we could perpetuate the traditional style of American overeating. The house lo mein(maybe it was chow mein) was ok. It was a bit greasy and had some surprises too… Like tripe. Didn’t expect that. Not too shabby! One of the shrimps weren’t deveined too well… Always a turn off. I got over it and just didn’t eat it. My favorite, and the mutually agreed upon best, part of the meal was the Mongolian Beef. So good I even capitalized the name! It came with peppers still in the mix and served over a bed of cellophane noodles. The pieces were sized right and cooked well. I liked everything about it! As we wrapped up our meal, we were offered a complimentary dessert of tapioca rice pudding. We denied this from our server but then a gentleman that appeared to be the manager brought it on his own accord. We tried a bit. It was pretty tasty. Not a traditionally American sweet dessert, but a nice touch. I ate most of mine and the wife tried hers. The pudding does bring up an interesting point… The service. The service was… interesting. We had 3 or 4 different people that took our order or brought us things. It was a bit strange and did result in some BBQ Pork buns that we didn’t order. Oh well. It took a while to get our check and get it paid, but there were also 2 large tables(about 15 people each) trying to get their checks all separated and paid. I think that if you take them out of the equation the service experience improves. All in all I can say it was a pretty decent experience. With all factors combined I still think 3.5 stars would fit better. We will probably go back, but would likely stick to a few dim sum items and that tasty beef. Yeah, I am ending this review with tasty beef…

11−19−13. Great parking, reasonable prices, lovely décor loads oriental folks to verify that its a real oriental restaurant. The dim sum dishes were fresh and tasty. It is a very good spot for gluten free eating. We will be returning to try it again. There were diners there from all over the country.

I dashed into Hong Kong on the spur of the moment today to get some dim sum for take out. It was my first visit. I am not an expert on Chinese food, although my husband and I are foodies in general, but I can say I enjoyed the four dim sum samples I brought home and so did my husband. The restaurant looked beautiful, clean and spacious. We will return for a full meal to really try it out. But the thing I really want to say is that I was treated extremely well while waiting for my order. The manager encouraged me to sit down at a table and brought me a complimentary pot of tea. I was then treated to a free sample of a sweet jelled pudding that was very tasty, and then he brought by some very fresh and delicious fried sesame balls — I’ve tried these at other places and these were excellent. And while I was seated at the table in what seemed to be an area that was not open, no other tables were occupied — several wait persons came by and asked me if I would like some dim sum or to order something. All were very polite. When my order was ready the manager said he was sorry I had to wait but one of the items I ordered had to be baked and I think that’s the reason he served me the complimentary snacks. But the wait was not that long. So, in my opinion the service was exceptional contrary to the two other reviews. I will return with family and friends.

What a F A N T A S T I C place to bring family and friends. This new DIMSUM restaurant is family friendly. In addition to that, the ambiance is also a good fit for lunch or doing dinner with office colleagues or co-workers too. The FOOD? Just look at some of the pics(mine too) posted. Steaming hot and fresh mouth-watering delights — mmm, mmm simply yummy. Now they don’t just come in push carts, you may order ala carte from the kitchen as well. Be brave, try this tray today and that dish some other day, I did — that’s how fun it is.

had a hard time debating 3 or 4 stars. Its not bad. Especially for a chinese restaurant north of seattle the dim sum is good. They did miss on a few of the dim sum dishes but it wasn’t terrible. For me its a far drive so I probably won’t come back. But if you live in that area I do recommend it.

My girlfriends & I stopped here for dim sum on a warm autumn Saturday afternoon. It was mostly packed full of locals(that’s a good sign, right?) and we were promptly seated! Water & tea(options: jasmine or oolong) was brought out quick & the dim sum push carts soon swarmed our way! — Chicken Feet: Sooooo good! Saucy and Flavorful, fall off the bone tender. — Shu Mai: Very plump & meaty. Delicious as well! — Tripe: Yummy. Steamed to perfection — Deep fried shrimp dumpling with mayo: Crispy, great flavor profile too. Good for kids if they’re picky eaters — BBQ pork puff pastry: The filling was okay, I didn’t like the texture of pastry — Fried/Stuffed Shrimp Tofu w/black bean sauce: One of my faves, great pillowy tofu! Shrimp stuffing was very delicate & paired well with tofu — Steamed Pork Spareribs: Very tender & delicious — Rice Rolls(Shrimp or Beef): Very good. I liked the shrimp more. The beef could of used more filling and seasoning — Congee: One of the best I’ve EVER had(in Chinatown AND Richmond, Canada) I was surprised that the congee had a rich broth flavor, with tender morsels of pork spareribs AND preserved duck eggs. I’ve never had this version but it was pretty amazing! The Verdict: The service was great, and the staff very accommodating. That’s a nice change from the hectic dim sum visits in the International District with spotty, shitty service. Open space, and VERY clean! Overall, everything tasted extremely fresh & was seasoned well! The pricing was affordable too! About $ 2. for small dish, $ 3.5 for medium, $ 4.5 for larger or specialty dishes. For 5 girls, the bill was $ 49 and we got a lot of food with leftovers. I really hope this place succeeds and sticks around because I will definitely return!!!

This is a re-post from the restaurant named Hong Kong Dim Sum in Everett. I also added some updated reviews since my original post. The correct name of this restaurant is Hong Kong(as shown on business card), but definitely NOT Hong Kong Dim Sum. Don’t confuse this restaurant with the Hong Kong Dim Sum on 164th in Lynnwood. Review for August 3, 2013 dim sum visit 3 stars for the dim sum and 2 stars for service. This restaurant has been opened for a month now. We finally checked it out last Saturday. We got there before 11 am and there were plenty of tables available. We were seated immediately at the booth section. But the tea didn’t come to us until we need to ask. The waiter totally forgot about our tea. Dim sum carts were strolling around and the ladies serving the dim sum were very friendly. The dim sum were okay and standard, nothing special(see pics). Since we were sitting at the booth section, we were being left out by the waiters and waitresses. Most waiters and waitresses were concentrated in the area where the tables are. They should seat customers in a better way so all customers can be attended. There was one waitress who actually pay more attention. The rest of them were all look so busy running around the restaurant and cleaning the tables. I thought it is more important for the management to divide the work between the waiters and waitresses. So some can concentrate on serving the customers while others are picking up empty plates and cleaning tables after customer left. There is no management. The guy who looks like a manager was helping out in putting the food on dim sum carts. He should be managing the restaurant and pay attention to customers’ need. Definitely need better organization and service! This restaurant is too big and they have a party room at the back of the restaurant with a dance floor right in the middle of the restaurant. It seems difficult for the waiters and waitresses to attend to every table. Review for August 13, 2013 dinner visit We went in on a Tuesday night to check out their dinner menu. We felt like ordering something different. We then ordered Drunken Chicken and Taiwanese Three Cup Chicken and steamed rice. These two entrees were below average as the taste wasn’t tasty and very bland. Review for September 28, 2013 Take-Out Order We called in the order for Fu Zhou Fried Rice and Stir-fried Mushroom Yee Mein. The order was ready to pick up when we arrived. We liked the fried rice better as it was flavorful. It was fried rice on bottom with Chinese broccoli, shrimp, squid, chicken, scallop and Chinese mushroom in tasty sauce on top. The Yee Mein was very bland and dry. We wish it could have more soy sauce flavor. It is not recommended. So overall, this restaurant is an okay restaurant in this area. With their hours open till 10pm(Sun-Thur) and 11 pm(Fri-Sat), it is convenient to get Chinese food for late dinner or when you crave for some fried rice or chow mein or even dim sum(served all day with dim sum cart strolling during peak hours and order from dum sum menu made to order after hours). Give it a try if you live in the area or happens to be in the area. We will probably go back to try their food other than dim sum at dinner time.

My family and I had dimsum here yesterday. And i have to admit, it was surprisingly satisfying. Its awesome because its literally 2mins away from me(beats going to Chinatown). There wasn’t a wait list or line(we got there at 10:45am), got seated in the booth area. The food carts were very prompt and the ladies were very friendly. I’m excited because they are supposedly doing dimsum all day, I’m definitely amped to have dimsum at dinner time :) And the owners seem to be the same owners for Lucky Buffet(on Everett Mall Way and 7th) The only negatives i had was when waitress would come around to tables with specials, they’d lean really low for you to see it. I swear i saw our waitress cleavage about 5 times… and our Shrimp dumplings were actually the steamed minced pork buns, which was still good but the waitress told us a different name.

Really not loving this place. Service is really spotty! It is no where as busy as their buffet business, yet we waited more than 10 minutes before the dim sum cart arrived. I guess because the waitress put us on the other side of the restaurant where we can see the workers take their break and munch away … When we first asked for ice tea, the server gave us a cup of ice and a pot of hot tea. The second server was much better… Somewhat. She got our order mixed up with another table. What kind of order system do they have is beyond me.

i went there opening weekend, and it was so-so. the food taste and quality was very good, the service was good, but the food was just not HOT the way dimsum should be. it should slightly burn your mouth! we voiced our opinion, and the manager apologized profusely. my mom went with my dad the next day(they like to try out new chinese restaurants) and they spoke with the owner about it. he also apologized and said he would be ordering new carts ASAP to keep the food hot, and they should come back in a month. i haven’t been since, but i plan on going soon. the food really was good, and north-of-seattle location is great(for me). unfortunately most good chinese restaurants north of seattle go out of business, so i hope this play does well enough to stay open! it was definitely very inexpensive, compared to T&T(dimsum in edmonds), and comparable pricing with chinatown.

Was in the mood for dim sum so ate dinner here on 7⁄30 and was pleasantly surprised with the food. The food tasted really fresh and was piping hot and the portions were huge… instead of ping pong ball sized shu mai we got golf ball sized! We were a little confused about what to do when we arrived since we didn’t see any carts rolling around and were given a menu. Subsequently found out that they stop doing the carts at 3pm, after that you order from a menu with a minimum of 5 plates. It would’ve been nice to know this from the beginning instead of waiting until the waitress arrived to explain through her really bad english. Once we got around the language barrier and ordered 7 plates we truly enjoyed the food and experience. I think since we had to order the dim sum it was guaranteed freshly prepared and hot and didn’t disappoint. Give this place a try and don’t base your choice on the previous reviewers especially since one of them hasn’t been there yet and is giving a bad review based on a restaurant the owners previously had.

I’ve been here 3 times now and never had a problem! The first time we went was on the 13th of July for their grand opening weekend. We arrived right at 10am when they opened. Of course things were a little slow at first, they just opened! The food was hot and tasty. I tried a few things I have never had before and was not disappointed! The staff is friendly too. There were 7 adults and 2 children in our group and we all ate until full for just under $ 60! The other 2 times we returned we just got food to go but it was still super hot and delicious at home! This is one of our new favorite restaurants in Everett and we will continue to go back many times!
