DISCOVERY OF THE WEEK:
I walked into ReNewWorks Home and Décor and instantly felt there’s something different, something really GREAT happening here — following is what I discovered:
ReNewWorks offers beautiful, gently used furnishings and unique gift items at ridiculously reasonable prices! Shop their storefront (it’s very nice) and online, both are conveniently located with good parking!
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE:
ReNewWorks Home and Décor is the latest Social Enterprise Launched by HopeWorks, an affiliate of Housing Hope. HopeWorks creates and operates social enterprise businesses designed to provide jobs and internships for families experiencing and at risk of homelessness residing in low-​income housing. HopeWorks currently owns and operates three businesses where lots of great training and education happens through paid internships.
I left, convinced something more than great is happening here — this is an amazing program seriously dedicated to strengthening our communities!

Upon entering I was greeted by the staff. I have recently moved to the Washington area and in my quest to find furniture for my apartment I chose to stop into ReNewWorks.
What a selection! The furniture was extremely high quality and they had a wide array of items from quaint decorations to very modern recliners. The lay out of the store was easy to navigate and the staff was very helpful. The sales associate inquired on what I was looking for and walked me to the various portions of the store that would have the items and style I’m looking for.
I was able to find a wonderful queen bed headboard that had drawers for storage and outlets (for lamps, phone chargers, laptops) built into it. When I checked the price I was amazed! $ 40 for an antique that would function as a headboard and a nightstand.
I would highly recommend stopping at ReNewWorks before perusing through other retailers, if not for the incredible selection and price, for the social aspect of their business. After purchasing my item the staff told me about the business’ social mission — to help those who were previously homeless develop job skills and experience to find living wage positions through training in the store and professional development through their affiliated organization, Housing Hope.
The sales associate also inquired if I would need my item delivered since it was quite heavy and large. Luckily my vehicle had no problem holding the headboard, but if it had not they offer a relatively inexpensive delivery service that I would suggest for those who have trouble transporting their purchases.
5 stars for you, ReNewWorks! Your wonderful selection, service, and overall atmosphere made my shopping experience extraordinary. I’ve told several friends about ReNewWorks and they have all had pleasant experiences as well. This should be your first stop when you redecorate and refurnish your home.

A great store with good prices for a great cause. They train people from Housing Hope for living wage jobs. They also are going to open a coffee shop that will train homeless youth for jobs. I have bought a couple of great items there and will be consigning a couple of others.
The customer service was great, they are there to help but are not pushy. I highly recommend the place if you are looking for quality used furniture at a good price!
