Well. The coffee was very smooth. The operator not so much. I don’t know why he felt the need for the insane patter and silly lies about the drive in. I don’t drink all those things with chocolate and so on in them so I have no opinion about them. If he would shut up and make the coffee I might be interested in more but I don’t want to go through whatever that was again.

The best coffee hands down. Less expensive than Starbucks and better tasting.

Don’t let the small amount of reviews fool you– this is a sold five star establishment. I’m a coffee snob and I often drove right past this stand. One day I looked at it and thought the name was cool, the yellow was fun, and I liked how they told you to make a u-turn for their coffee. I looked it up on Unilocal and it had perfect reviews. I’m a big fan of enthusiastically supporting local businesses that deserve it. This afternoon, I finally had a chance and am so glad I did. The guy working there was so sweet. He greeted me right away, noting that I had never been there before(which tells me he remembers his regulars) and told me about his coffee. He told me it was smooth, buttery, had a caramelly sweetness to it and didn’t leave any bitterness. He promised me that while I may be thinking he’s overblowing his coffee now, when I taste it I’ll agree with him. When I asked for a punch card, he told me confidently I needed one because I’d be addicted. At the recommendation of other Unilocalers, I ordered the frappé and added chocolate and toasted marshmallow. I typically order ristretto shots but with his promise of smooth caramelly coffee, I knew a ristretto shot wouldn’t be necessary. My frappé was ready very quickly and was perfectly blended. On top was a chocolate covered espresso bean. He promised me I’d enjoy it and I drove off without sipping. In hindsight, I wish I would have stayed because my reaction would have been nice for him to see. He did not over blow the taste of his coffee at all. Really, he didn’t even adequately describe how amazing the flavor is. In his defense, you don’t say to a new customer«my coffee is f*cking amazing» even though that’s how I’d describe it. I don’t exaggerate– I would sip, be blown away, put the coffee down, try to wait a few minutes and when I sipped again I had forgotten just how amazing it was. It blew me away every time I sipped. After my first sip I said aloud to myself«WTF is in this coffee?!» He was spot on with his description– buttery, caramelly, smooth and not a hint of bitterness– even after drinking it. I drove on down the road to get some spring rolls(pregnancy craving) and left the dregs of my coffee in my car. The whole time I was waiting for my spring rolls, I was dying to go back into my car to drink my coffee. Then, when I got back into my car it was even tastier than I had remembered. I shot him a quick email explaining my disbelief at how delicious his coffee is and he(Christopher) wrote back in a few minutes thanking me for my comment and telling me my comments made his night. I picked my daughter up from daycare and decided to get a drink for tomorrow morning. This time I got a zebra mocha with soy milk. As soon as he spotted my daughter in the back he handed me a lollipop. Genius. The whole drive home I was eying my coffee. Good thing I have a lot of self-control. In other words– go here. Don’t hesitate. It’s really the best coffee I have ever had, and I have drank a lot of coffee in my life. A lot. I’ve even worked about three years for coffee companies. I make a mean espresso beverage so my standards are really high. When the kid occupying my uterus comes out, I won’t have much reason to be in this area, and I’m already afraid of how sad I’ll be when I don’t get to come here any more. I can see myself going out of my way to come here. Some other important information: all of his beverages are $ 2.50. Certain things have an added cost like soy milk, syrups, and a 32 oz cup. The add on costs are really quite minimal. Also, he roasts his own beans in an adjacent building. Next time I go there, I’m going to buy an 8oz bag of whole beans for $ 5.95. Honestly, that price is a steal because it truly is the best coffee I have ever had and would love to brew some at home. Bottom line: great service, beyond amazing coffee, the u-turn isn’t bad at all, and you really should stop reading and go. C’mon Unilocalers, don’t fail me. If you’ve been here, post your review!

I don’t normally like to stop at stands any more. The taste of the coffee is so bitter. And come on Hersey’s for the mocha. Now I can do better at home. So I usually do make my own coffee at home. But my husband has stopped by and said they have good coffee. He said he has talked to the owner about how he roasts and things but I didn’t believe him. Well today we stopped by looking for a stand that had a banana for my daughter and I got a coffee(thinking oh is this going to be a waste) but he made an Italian white chocolate peppermint mocha and well I am totally hooked. The coffee is so smooth, the chocolate is divine, the peppermint was perfect. You can’t get this anywhere else and I felt so spoiled like at a fine restaurant to be drinking this but I was in my car. So for not liking to stop at stands because usually they have bad coffee to find that this coffee is amazing & divine. And to stop because of a banana to find a coffee I will defiantly go back for. It was a good day! There is actually good coffee in Seattle!!!

How can so many chain restaurants have so many reviews and the BESTCOFFEINTHESEATTLEAREA have only one? Come on Unilocalers you’re better than that. I drink coffee everyday from places all over and simply put this is the best coffee I have ever tasted. The owner was a really nice guy and was really talking up his coffee saying it will be the best I’ve ever had, I eat and drink out all the time so enthusiastic business owners proud of their product is nothing new to me and in fact I like it, even if does always lead to the inevitable sad conclusion that no matter what it is I’ve had it better somewhere else. So imagine my shock when I take a drink of my frap and for the first time that statement was true! I actually laughed a little after my first drink, I live in the coffee capital of the world, drink it everyday, and still hadn’t found this place? Wow I’m an idiot. Best coffee you will ever taste, great owner, great prices. Check this place out right now.

Ok so my husband and I have been frequenting Rock City for a few years now and the coffee is the best we have ever had. The beans are roasted fresh by the owner so you never get those over-roasted bitter cups of espresso that some of the«other» places like to pawn off on you. To give you an idea of how good the coffee is(they do frappes and italian sodas and more too!) we moved out of the area over a year ago and still drive the 20 minutes or so to go get coffee as often as possible!

Tried the beans I bought– FANTASTIC!!! Why on earth would anybody buy Starbucks after they tried these.
