I wish I had found this ages ago! Thanks Unilocalers! There’s nothing particularly amazing to see but it’s a nice flat walk with beautiful trees and birds. I also saw a really cool weird fungus called Witches Butter(see pictures). We look the long walk(to the right) as we came in. The trail is a little funky so we had our doubts if we were in the right place a couple of times, but it does circle back around. It’s hard to believe at times how close you are to the city. I really look forward to going again during each season to see how it changes. One of my favorite things is the old bridge(also in my pictures). It was actually moved from another location and saved. Along the bridge there are plaques giving the story of the bridge and it’s relocation. It’s just a really nice place to go for a walk and chat with a friend.

Took the shorter walk that was only about two miles round trip. This was fine. The trail was maintained and you could have your dogs off leash because the land was part of the Fish and Wildlife property. There were numerous birds and we saw a bald eagle. The view was fantastic. We have never been here before and it is a little tricky because you drive a back road and have to go through some gates.

I love coming down to this park to look for birds and enjoy a quiet escape near the city. The location is rather difficult to find, but once you locate it you’ll surely be back to enjoy this beautiful trail and it’s wonderful river views. Don’t mind the sewage plant, it doesn’t effect the park much, in fact the retention ponds harbor all kind of wildlife including many species if ducks year round. I’ve found everything from horned grebes to nesting red tailed hawks down here, even last year I walked up on a 2 foot long dead salmon on the shore! If you into wildlife or even need a place to run or relax come down to this place and enjoy.
