I love that there is a 100%-corn tortilla maker around Boston!!! USA needs this kind of business!!! I don’t like buying tortillas in the supermarket because thy have ingredients I can’t tell, they are packed… And have been packed for many days, plus they are expensive considering the cheap price of tortillas in Latin America. I hope people can appreciate this place as much as I do. The people that thought of this shall know how many Latinos they have saved from cancer caused by factory-made, processed-corn tortillas. Finally, I would like to say thank you to the owner and to the workers. Keep the good work!!!

This is just about their chips which I bought at Whole Foods. Not bad, but at least for me, nowhere near salty enough!

Oh my freaking GOD. These are the best tortilla chips I’ve had in my life. Yes, life. My wife took a drive in and bought a bag, some tortillas, and salsa. Fricking amazing chips.

This shop is conveniently around the corner from my house, which is why I tried it, but it’s worth a trek from much further away. I would have thought the tortillas from the Market Basket around the corner were authentic enough, but these, unsurprisingly, are better. On my first trip in(and yes, in the week or so they’ve been open I’ve already been there more than once), I got a quick rundown on the pedigree of their corn. It’s shipped in as whole corn from Illinois. It’s ground on site and is basically the only ingredient used in the tortillas — they add just lime and water. And the tortillas are excellent. Even the ones we accidentally left in the oven too long made delicious crispy tacos. They taste like corn, as they should. They even smell better than anything you’d get out of a plastic bag. There are a few other wares on sale: salsa, pico de gallo, masa for tamales, and guacamole. Oh, the guacamole. It’s nearly as good as I’d make myself(and let’s face it, «almost as good as homemade» is about the highest praise I can give an establishment), but much more immediate. I mean, have you tried buying a ripe avocado for impromptu guacamole? I’ve never managed it, so Tortilleria la Nina will be fulfilling all my on-demand guacamole needs for the foreseeable future. Next time you decide to have taco night at home, swing by Tortilleria la Nina for your tortillas and some toppings. You won’t be disappointed.
