Brown’s Chicken and Pasta Restaurant

I loved fried chicken and typically I go to Popeyes if I want fast fried chicken quickly, but Browns has been having a lot of great coupons for when I want to spend less than 5 bucks on dinner. I get two pieces of fried chicken with a side and a biscuit for 3.99 with a coupon. That is pretty awesome. As far as food goes, honestly, it is pretty plain compared to most of the fried chicken I have a restaurants and lets not even compare it to the mind blowing fried chicken in the south. However, considering the price of most fast food restaurants this is a welcome change. Personally, while it isn’t the best I think the food is better than the 3.99 I paid for it and that is really saying something. The service has always been nice, especially the sweet girl behind the counter this last time I went. Overall, for a fast food, chain restaurant it is better than expected with prices that won’t have you gaping your jaw.

Sorry. VERY disappointed. Historically, I’m a big fan of Brown’s Chicken and their sides. I got a 2pc. dark meat with a biscuit and the «orange» coleslaw. ALWAYS loved Brown’s «orange» coleslaw! Not so THIS time. The chicken was tasteless and the breading, while «crispy» was almost to hard and completely tasteless too. The biscuit was rubbery, as if microwaved and definitely not buttery and crispy as I’ve always enjoyed at other Brown’s. Finally, the good, olé’ «orange» coleslaw tasted NOTHING like it used to and what little taste there was in it, was strange. Last time I was at a Brown’s (different one), they told me that they no longer carried the «orange» coleslaw. The slaw at the Evergreen Park location tasted as if they tried to replicate the old stuff and missed the boat. Sorry. The good thing I can say was that the lady at the drive-​thru was very nice, and efficient.

Fantastic restaurant. The juiciest most tender chicken a human being can consume. The staff is nearly godlike with their service and speed. Your taste buds will praise you as you drift away into another world of mouth watering fried chicken bliss. Go to browns chicken in evergreen park.

Finally had fried okra after everyone bragged about it! Now the chicken is a bit greasy, I guess that’s the way it’s made, but the fried okra, not bad at all.
I used a coupon that had expired (no I didn’t know it did) and was elated that they took it still. I let them know of course and the server said «oh no that’s fine». Rock!
I am not a big chicken eater in the least, but coming here made me thing that maybe I need to give it another shot. I am very particular of course, so greasy chicken scares me to the high heavens. But would I try the okra again, YES!
