This place was a huge let down. We tried the pork wings and they were gross; fat, flavorless, cold. Then we had the Hawaiian pizza– also gross. I actually felt sick after eating this. A frozen pizza from home is better than the soggy and bland nastiness they call pizza. The drinks were strong but not particularly good. The service was very slow, and I don’t think anything could convince me to try this place again.

Came here for drinks on the patio when it was still warm out. They have a cool selection of cocktails and bonus. they’re strong! Did not get a chance to try the the food, but I’ll def be back to give it a shot. Nice little addition to EP.

Out of burgers, limited menu, needed to change the keg on our beer so we waited for 15 mins with out the bartender asking if we wanted something else. We left and went to deja brew.

Okay, I just got flew in from a biz trip and was too jacked to go home right away. I have driven past The Red Palm at least a hundred times, because I live close. I walked in and was greeted by Joe the Bartender. Friendly guy. I had a few beers and looked around. It was a Wednesday night and not too crowded on the inside, but the patio was busy. Now, this place is supposed to have a Hawaiian theme, and they really need to go over the top to make it so. How much would it cost to build a little tiki hut around the inside bar? Not a lot. Also, since this is suppose to have a Hawaiian theme, put the fru-fru drink menu up front, and beef it up! If this place had a selection of a hundred tropical drinks people would cross 95th Street in six feet of snow to suck them down. So, get on it! In addition, serve Spam. Yes, Spam. It’s a staple in Hawaii, and most people here hate it, but it would be a novelity to draw people in. A nice Spam burger topped with pineapple. Yum! Well, not for me, but for some. I ordered wings to go, hot. They were big and meaty and hot enough, better than 90 percent of the joints in the area. I don’t know who the owners are, but if you’ve chosen a theme, get with it. Hard. Over the top. Cheesy. There are a few tiki bars in metro area, and I told Joe about one of them. The owner and the servers should all take a field trip to River Grove and check it out. It will help. I want to see this place make it, because EP is boring as all get out and this place can make it better, especially in winter. I’ll go back, and I will beat up on poor Joe the Bartender until he tells the owners to color the place up.

Service– watched the bartenders watch the high school football game on tv instead of waiting on customers Cheese plate– really bad. It wasn’t anything interesting. Just cheap sweaty varieties of cheddar and some olives with the pits– waiting for a chipped tooth lawsuit. Taco plate– this was pretty decent. Pork sliders– pretty good. I’d order these again. Environment– looks like a newly renovated basement or Rec room. I don’t remember seeing salads on the menu. Thought the menu was limited and hard to read. Wine list was beyond bad. I was hoping this would be a cool new place in the neighborhood. Not so much.

I’ve been here twice… once with my husband and once with my husband and another couple. Both times, my food was good and drinks were delish. I’ve had the steak sandwich, which was excellent, the pulled pork sliders, which were okay, and the bbq chicken pizza, which was good, but a little too much food for one person. I thought the guacamole was decent, and our chips were not stale. I did not like the fries the first time… later, I heard that they cook them in duck fat. However, the second time, I liked them. I honestly think that the first time, they used old oil. My friend had the taco flight and loved them. Both times, we were able to get parking and able to eat on the patio. The first visit, our server was great, and a gentleman, whom I assume was the manager or the owner, repeatedly approached us, asking us how our food and drinks were. He even followed us out to tell us that he hoped we enjoyed everything. The second time, we had a different server, and she was awful. She took forever to do anything, from bringing our drinks to bringing our check. All in all, I liked the place, and will definitely go back. Some of the servers need to pick up the pace a little, though.

I’m not sure why people have rated it so low. I think people need to remember it just opened maybe a month or 2 ago-so of course there are kinks that need to get worked out. Also-yes there isn’t a parking lot. Not a big deal for us, as most city restaurants/bars don’t have any either. Maybe a valet would help the people who think it’s too much to park across the street or park on the nearest side street. Our experience: Had dinner and drinks– and overall, thought everything was pretty good. The inside of the restaurant is really nicely done. Has an island vibe/décor without it being cheesy. We sat outside though because the weather was perfect. The patio/beer garden seems to be a work in progress, but a good start, considering summer is almost over, I’m thinking next summer it will be coordinated a little better. I really like that this place is keeping authentic with the island theme. They have Kona beer, a list of Tropical drinks, and much of the menu has a tropical flair to it. I LOVELOVE that they have GRASSFED Burgers. A rare find in the suburbs/southside. They also have ORGANIC salad. Again, rare, but really appreciated. I really like when restaurants choose to put high quality ingredients on their menu. So kudos to Red Palm for organic/grass fed items! They also have a wood burning pizza oven. Our group chose the BBQ chicken pizza-delicious-we had the taco trio-very good, Big Kahuna burger also good. Love that they have crinkle fries too.(It’s the little things in life that get me excited!!!) Service was good-I think it would help to have a bar outside in the beer garden because servers have to go inside to get drinks, which obviously could be time consuming. Overall, felt welcomed, loved the unique theme, looking forward to going back!

My friend and I decided to try out The Red Palm despite the poor reviews it received on Unilocal. The outside area was full so we headed inside to have a drink at the bar before dinner. The bartender was friendly and the cocktails were tasty. After our second round we decided to get a table inside and order grub. There is no host or hostess service so it’s pretty much sit where you want. We grabbed a table and resumed our conversation. After about 15 minutes, it dawned on us that nobody had visited our table to take our order. This is despite the fact that there were no fewer than 5 servers milling around the bar, talking amongst themselves. We waved someone over and placed our order. I had the chicken teriyaki wrap and my friend had a Hawaiian pizza. The chicken wrap was pretty small and very heavy on the teriyaki sauce. Her pizza was just ok. I wanted to like this place but I’m disappointed to say that I won’t be back.

Loved our dinner at this place. We were warmly greeted by the owner and attentively waited on by friendly and competent staff. The drinks were great and the food was delicious. We enjoyed a margarita pizza straight from the oven and perfectly prepared prime rib sandwich Cant wait to return and catch some of the live music

My husband and I visited Sunday night for the first time. We sat outside and they had entertainment, an acoustic guitar player and a singer; they were awesome. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the waitress was outstanding. They have a tropical drink menu and we sampled a couple of fun drinks. We had the burger and a pizza. The burger was cooked just right and had pineapple and teriyaki sauce on it. This is not something I would ordinarily order, but it was very delicious. The pizza was also good, my only suggestion would be to add a little fresh basil. If you have not been there you need to try it, we will definitely be back! There is plenty of parking on the same side of the street so you don’t have to worry about crossing 95th.

I live 2 blocks away and almost stayed away because of negative reviews. I think some of the reviews are unfair and overly critical. However, I did not eat there, so I can’t speak about the food. After a pleasant Saturday night for drinks at the Palm, I am willing to return for food. This place just opened up a few weeks ago, so I’m sure the staff is a little inexperienced. I thought they all did a good job this night. Attentive, friendly, and efficient. We had wine, beer, and specialty cocktails. All were good. The setting is tiki. We sat outside by the light of the tiki torches, listened to live music and pretended the sound from cars on 95th were waves. How really bad can all that be?!? The parking is not a big deal. We were welcomed and seated by a very friendly man that I presumed was the owner or manager. Stop in for a drink and give the place a chance. Make your own judgement. There are other options in Evergreen Park, but if you’re looking for something different the Red Palm is worth a try.

We thought we would try this after checking out the website. That was a mistake. We were greeted by our server who stated that it was her first day. She actually was the best part of the visit. My wife couldn’t finish her tropical cocktail because it was so bad. We were disappointed to see a list of about 6 items on the menu. It was nothing like what was published on the Web site. We were informed that they tried to make the menu items before and failed so they scaled back. I settled for an appetizer of chicken wings as my dinner. The wings were raw and I asked to have them cooked. This was the first time I ever returned food to be cooked. The owner came over to apologize. He stated he had experience in opening over 300 restaurants so I figured when the wings came back, they would cooked. They were not. It seemed like there was much more attention to the bar patrons than the diners. I really thought I might have gotten sick from biting into raw poultry, but I survived. I left the food and showed the server the problem and asked for check, paid and left hungry. Upon leaving, the owner was outside. Told him the second attempt at the wings didn’t work. He thanked me for letting him know. That was about it. I paid full price for an item I couldn’t eat, and a cocktail my wife couldn’t drink. I would like to try it again after they get their s___together, however, my wife says if they compensate me for the first visit, we’re not going back.

Great new restaurant, local for me! Great vibe, drinks, service, food and awesome bar! My favorite factors: 80 inch screen at bar, banquet space in back, outdoor patio, great bar and delicious Hawaiian drinks… Try the ZOMBIE! I had the tacos flight good tasting and overloaded on the meat! My fiancé had the barbecue pizza and that was delicious! Great job!

Man, I had higher hopes for the place. We ate at the bar since the outside was full. We had the taco flight, which had over-salted chicken, and two other tacos that weren’t hot when they were served. Overall, I had a bite of each one and didn’t eat the rest. We also had the chips and guacamole, which was less than mediocre. The $ 8.95 price tag didn’t come close to the value of the food. And seriously, the salsa that was served is the worst salsa I’ve ever had. It was just bland and colorless. I’ve had better salsa from a jar. The outside area looks nice if you’re having a drink or two, but they should really improve their food. Also, there’s no parking except across the street, so people are jaywalking across a 6-lane street. Probably not the safest idea for those who have been drinking.

Service was the worst I’ve ever had. Anywhere. And I can’t tell you about the food because the waitress forgot to put our order in, and when we realized how long we had been waiting and asked how much longer, she came back and told us that the kitchen was closed. This was after she brought us the wrong bottle of wine at first, then brought us the right bottle and placed it on the table corked and unopened and walked away. It took us another 10 minutes to get her attention for a bottle opener. We tried to give her a chance to redeem herself and asked for a drink on the house to make up for all the hiccups. There were 3 of us. She came back letting us know she comped our bill a whopping 5 $. I will not be revisiting anytime soon.

My wife and I checked out a couple new places for appetizers and drinks, we went to ThiThis first which was great but pricey and then stopped at Red Palm. It was very uncomfortable inside, outside was better but no bar and we didn’t get a server after sitting there for 20 min. A kid started hosing out garbage cans 10 feet from our table which made us lose our appetite for drinks and food. It’s a local place that I want to do well but the menu is odd(chicken wings in the pizza oven with sweet baby rays BBQ sauce and their own buffalo wing sauce). Drinks are cheap if you get them inside, $ 4 for beer or mixed drinks but you have to get them at the bar and then move outside. If they painted the inside from the neutral earth tone and decorated the walls it may be tolerable but it seemed like we were at a bad family party. I don’t intend to go back unless they add a bar outside and some regular food.

Stopped in had few drinks… The drinks not bad but food is honestly from word of mouth from people there said nothing to go crazy about. Parking is tough to get Infront so you’ll have to park and walk across 95th street. Hope no one gets hit after a night of drinking. It’s a different theme not to sure how it will work out. Looks different but for sure out of place on the south-side. Disappointed.

Super disappointed in the food. Wings were awful you could tell they were frozen, they came out super soggy, not smoked like said. Also had the mahi mahi sandwich; fish was cooked good however the sandwich itself was super bland and the sweet potato chips that came with them were soggy. Our Order of guacamole was pretty decent but most of the chips were stale. I feel like the place opened up way too prematurely, this is my second time here(first time for the food) they already down sized the food menu and was told theyre still trying to figure the menu out. They dont have complete drink menus yet. Tons of beer no beer menu to look at.

*Highly Disappointed* –Limited Parking (Yes– we could of parked across the street yet who wants to make a mad dash across 95th?) –Outdoor patio is seat yourself so unless someone sees you walk in. You may sit for several minutes before you can get a servers attention. –Patio was«filled» yesterday so we decided to try again tonight. –Three servers for the patio; All very polite yet little to zero serving experience. –Another party borrowed us their menus. –Patio tables are cheap plastic and wobbly– table could easily be tipped over. –Server didn’t have bottle opening experience. –Ordered drinks and then was told 15 mins later that they had a «fridge issues» and was only serving Chips/Guac or Pizza. Another server mentioned they«ran out of food» –Chips stale, Hawaiian Guac was delish. — Patio area was clean and the grass décor on the fence was nice. –Hoping this new venue gets the«kinks» worked out bc it has potential.
