The city of Evergreen Park is a jewel of the south side. Yukich Fields is situated on Kedzie between 91st and 87th streets and is next to the EP Fire Department. It features a baseball diamond, a football field, a running track with three different tracks(.3, .5 and .8 miles lengths denoted by color), various exercise stations, lots of water fountains and an ice skating rink. Very family friendly, but be warned… you technically are not allowed to play baseball or football without a permit. The spaces are reserved for various leagues, usually of the little variety. I go for runs on the open track that circles the park all the time and have never had any problems. I even went tonight(Christmas Day) and it was empty, as to be expected, but was completely safe and no one chased me down asking me to leave the premises. It is a nice spot for a run or a walk in the neighborhood. There are a few ponds and when the weather is nice it truly is beautiful. If you have a family check out the Evergreen Park website for ice skating hours! It’s fun and cheap($ 3 for seniors, $ 4 for kids, $ 5 for adults) to skate. Enjoy!

Love this park! I just moved back to the area and was shocked to find such a nice park there. The track is great and has different lengths for different goals and everything is really well kept. I will certainly be running here on a regular basis!
