Two not great experiences today. Be careful if you use this taxi company. Called Mountains Taxi for a ride from the Jefferson County Government Center/Golden RTD Light Rail station to the Colorado Railroad Museum(on the other side of town) this morning. The driver punched the destination into his GPS device and took me via US6 and CO58, which I later discovered was longer(distance) than going through town, so I ended up paying a higher fare. On the way back a new driver couldn’t find the address for the RTD Light Rail station to put into his GPS. In the end he said«he think he knew how to get there»… so off we went. Once we got to the center of town he made a wrong turn that took us down 10th Street to a dead end. I then pulled out my phone, found the station, and let my GPS direct him. The second driver took a few bucks off the fare for the wrong turn in town but then he did not have any one dollar bills to give me change which in the end appeared to me like a pathetic trick to get a higher tip. How do you drive a cab and not have ones? If you use these guys strongly I suggest that you figure out the route on your GPS device(or with Google Maps) first to check where the driver is taking you — before you are surprised.

I ordered a taxi to pick me up at DIA two days in advance. Called the next night to reconfirm. The taxi never showed up, never called. I wrote management and have received no response, no explanation, no apology. We used Mountains Taxi a few times last year and it was a good experience. Last two times they sent old Crown Vics that were ratty and smelled bad. I had high hopes, but can’t see using them again or referring them as they do not seem to care about their customers.

If you ever need a ride in the Golden area, don’t think twice — call these guys! Seriously. After a near death experience(true story) with Über, we were worried about making it back to our hotel in downtown Denver. Thankfully Kevin at Cannonball Creek recommended Mountains Taxi. We called them right away, and said they would be there in 20 minutes. Followed up with a «be there in 5» call. Robert was our driver and I can honestly say that I have never had a better experience. He immediately made us feel comfortable and was incredibly nice. I should add that it was snowing out and the roads were a little iffy in my opinion. No never once felt unsafe. Awesome guy, great company at a great price and if we’re ever back in Denver, I will NOT be calling Über. Mountains Taxi it is!
