I don’t even have to speak for the quality of Mia and her team’s food. I had MANY people come to Thao and I to express how delicious the food was… and these are well-​seasoned wedding attendees. They said it was among the best they’ve ever had at a wedding. She offered to let us borrow items for the tables and even a steamer. She was COMPLETELY honest about what she felt would and would not work for our wedding. She was pleasant and attentive and was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding.
We are from out of town so all of our communication was electronic up until our wedding day. She was extremely accommodating at all times. We were set up for a food tasting during an October visit but circumstances would not allow for the original plan. Mia offered to meet at a park and have us do it there! She was just amazing.
I wish I had a bunch of friends who were getting married soon so I could recommend her services. I will keep her in mind for any events close to Hawaii.

My wife and I found 1222 catering from a Google search. We had already been dealing with another company, but didn’t feel like it was a good fit. The previous company seemed to be nickel-​and-​diming everything. They were purely out for profit — that’s the feeling we got throughout our conversations. As soon as we emailed Mia, we knew we had a good fit. Her responses were always on time, polite, helpful, and enthusiastic. She did so much more than just provide food for our wedding — she brought in a designer to help us with the look that we had envisioned, she has a staff that helped us throughout our whole day from setting up the chairs, to placing decorations, the guest book table, linens, and much, much more.
When it came time to try the food, everyone was super impressed. She beautifully prepared our eclectic menu, ranging from crab cakes to individual take-​out boxes of pasta salad, personal chicken skewers, smoked paprika sirloin medallions, roasted vegetable kabobs, and so much more. We wanted everything to be a «small serving,» and she and her team nailed it. We started out with two different appetizers for the cocktail hour: roasted garlic bruschetta with oven-​roasted tomatoes, and opal basil pesto topped with a seared local shrimp, along with bite-​sized Dungeness crab cakes with herbed aioli and chives. The actual meal was buffet style, and allowed people to try many different dishes as they were smaller servings. Each guest commented how good the food was. They also couldn’t believe that everything was being cooked fresh on-​site. For dessert we had cheese and chocolate fondue with many different choices for dipping. She also helped coordinate the purchase and delivery of our cupcakes, not to mention of the rental items. We definitely hit a home run choosing Mia’s service. She made everything such a breeze.
If you’re planning a destination wedding in Hawaii, or are even from the island, and you want the smoothest experience and the best tasting food, go ahead and give 1222 Catering a try. You definitely won’t regret it. Given that we were planning from far away, Mia made things so easy; sometimes responding within minutes after an email was sent. I wish we had an excuse to go back and have her help us with an event again. Thank you Mia, and to your team, for everything!

Mia and her team catered my wedding earlier this month. I was beyond happiness about everything, from the table settings to the tasty meals. Mia was also so responsive to all the emails and texts I sent along the preparation process. We have used 1222 for several months now. Our kids enjoy the homemade gourmet fare as much as we do. Flavorful and fresh.
