I worked at this 7 – 11 location over 10yrs ago. My experience as an employee here was very disappointing. I remember going through orientation & training and I specifically remember one of the company policies was«All employees are to always speak english to eachother. And if another employee speaks in another language to you, you should always answer them in English. However, if a customer speaks in their native language to one of the employees and we understand, we could accommodate that customer by speaking or answering them in their language» The purpose of this policy was assure that all customers and fellow coworkers felt comfortable and welcomed in the store. Speaking in another language with fellow coworkers could cause conflict as customer may not understand what is being said and could cause them to feel unwelcomed & uncomfortable. When I worked at this location, the majority of the employees here were Filipino, including the store manager and he and they always spoke Tagalog or Ilocano to one another. I have no problem with Filipinos or the language as I too am part Filipino. The problem I did have was how often and how comfortable they were in violating our company policy. I also noticed how uncomfortable and annoyed customers were while this was going on. I always got complaints from customers but there was nothing much I could do but to refer them to talk with our store manager who he himself was part of the problem and never seemed to take the complaint serious. I also refered customers to contact our main branch/office in Honolulu to make a more formal complaint. Unfortunately, the problem continued. I don’t remember the name if the store manager, but I do remember the name of the Field Manager and his name was Tracy. He would come by the store about once a week. I remember trying to talk with Tracy and the store manager about the customer complaints and the problem with how the majority of our employees were always speaking in Tagalog or Ilocano to each other all the time. And to no avail, the situation was never taken seriously. I began to notice how resentful the store manager was of me and how some of my fellow coworkers were offended by me. I always meant well and I just wanted us to work together as a team with integrity in doing what was right. However, me voicing my concerns and trying to do the right thing was interpreted as a me being a threat and or disliking Filipinos. Which was the farthest thing from the truth as I’m mixed with Samoan and Filipino. I was fired by Tracy, the Field Manager. And when I asked as to why I was being let go he couldn’t give me a good answer. He & the store manager both told me that a customer had complained about how rude I was towards them and that my actions were grounds for termination. I was so angry as I knew I did nothing wrong. I also felt that it was a blessing because I knew it was time for me to move on to much bigger and better opportunities. The purpose of me sharing my story is to shed light on a secret that I feel was being hidden and protected. And in the process I was unjustly fired. I’m not sure if this issue still exists at this location but I do know that I feel much better & relieved to post this.

Why is it that they are removing some of the beers that are very popular, instead they have all of these pub brews that are more expensive then the others. Its sad.

My family and I love it here because it’s close to home, and they have basically everything under the sun that would satisfy any craving you may have. They also do carerings, and have various options regarding grab and gi meal items. Gas station is also on property, but kind of on the priced to definitely pinch your wallet. They are located in Ewa next to Zippys, and Simply Nice Hair Salon.

Always has the best Inari and snacks and I miss this place when I’m off island. They are different from the main lands 7 – 11’s by far. Thanks for having most of the Asian snacks I crave when I’m away. Great people with good customer service.

Love this 7 – 11! Way more food than in kapolei. I wish I had an ebt card. Just spent $ 16.27 just on two sushi roll, spicy crab sushi, one chicken curry manapua, fried noodles & a mochiko chicken all for myself. I like their foods tho! Kapolei 7 – 11 sucks. When I went there, they didn’t have anything! I like going to waipios location the best

This 7 – 11 always have musings and other goodies that are good on the go. The beer is decently priced. There are plenty parking spaces. And there are about twelve gas pumps. Only downside is that there is usually a line.

The line is always crowded now a days. Too much people getting f’reals lol. But really good service. Fast cashiers. Except at night, they always have one person by themselves running casier.

Picked up some snacks again and at the register I noticed a flyer for pupu platters. I figured with Thanksgiving later on in the week it might come in handy.
My gf looked over it and decided to order a platter. We went down the next day to place the order. It has to be done at least a day in advance. This must’ve been the clerks first time to take an order so my gf had to help her out. Went in the night before Thanksgiving to pick up our order of local fried noodles. Platter was ready, no problems. Had it to compliment our turkey meal. Very good. They have alot of items to chose from. Sushi, mochi, fried noodles…

A typical 7 — Eleven located between the gas pumps and Zippy’s. The first time I stopped by here is when my car got a flat tire and I needed to use their phone book to call a tow truck. A lady at the counter I’m guessing she was in her 50s and I tell can she was from PI because of her strong accent, she didn’t understand what I was saying when I asked for a phone book for a tow truck. She kept repeating«number four» like i’m ordering from a menu or something, After repeating the question 3 times I asked her co-worker the same question and finally gave me the phone book. This pissed me off a bit but I can understand her mishearing Unilocal 365 Challenge — #031/365

A busy 7-Eleven/Tesoro. You’ll always see people putting gas in their car or doing a quick run inside. Rarely empty place.
