Yes, it’s my dirty little secret (errr or should I say my neat little secret?) that I get really excited by anything that has to do with organizing and office supplies. I don’t know if it’s because I was conceived in a cubicle, or that my parents are hoarders, but I can’t help myself! A decade ago I had a crafting addiction, but after years of therapy I’ve realized it was just the organization of paper in endless bins that was the root of the problem. So I gave away all my crafting and office supplies, and only allowed myself to keep the bare essentials which still takes up an entire filing cabinet. Yes, I have endless pairs of scissors and sharpies and staplers and paper clips and manila folders and yellow notebooks and more tape than anyone will ever use! But when there’s a clerical crisis, guess who everyone will be calling?! And yes, I feel the need to compartmentalize everything in my life, but I haven’t put the children in plastic bins yet so everyone is safe!
That’s why when we passed by Simply Organized I begged my husband for just 10 minutes inside the store promising not to buy anything! I just wanted to look, but the honest truth is that if he hadn’t been there I probably would have brought home half the store. Every organizational tool for every single room of the house and all I could do was breath in the smell. (Deep inhale) Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… it was really the best smell in the entire world. Yes I’m turned on by the thought of everything being in its place, and yes I’m a little crazy, but isn’t it better to be OCD than buried alive in unorganized filth?
The workers here are really helpful and every time we ran into someone they offered to help which is incredibly rare to find these days in retail stores. Yes you can buy a lot of this stuff online, but oh man, it is so much better when you can hold it in your hands and think about all the things you’ll put into that container. And yes, I am currently reading a book called «100 Things» because I’m overly neurotic when it comes to my stuff and I really need to stop all my control freak level madness.

I stopped by earlier today just to look around since I have never been to this store, I’ve only been to the one in Kahala Mall once. My first experience here was horrible! Right off from the start, when I walked in I was not greeted at all. Cashier was facing the doors but looking down. That alone made me feel very unwelcome. Walked around and there’s a lot of clearance stuff! Didn’t expect to find so much so I was super happy about that. Workers were stocking things on the floor and a few of them asked if I was doing ok, that was another thing I loved! To have people actually take the time to check on me more than once! So I found a couple things on clearance, didn’t buy much because I wanted to come back with the hubby. So my daughter wanted to be a «big girl» and purchase everything herself, I gave her enough cash and she rushed up to the counter. Only until did I walk up close enough to see that the cashier was reading a book, she made my daughter just stand there and wait about 10 or 15 seconds until she finally looked up and started to ring her up. Her name tag read Nikki? That was the icing on the cake for me, I will not return to this location again due to the lack of professionalism. The two or three workers I came across while shopping were very friendly and helpful, but just one person can affect someone’s entire view of the store. I guess I’ll just go to the one in Kahala, at least there I know I’ll be greeted immediately at the door and immidiately when I’m ready to check out.

Went to the new store today! So organized and neat. Lots of friendly staff! I am so excited to have this store in Ewa! They had exactly what I needed.

Awesome new store, a little smaller than the old location but it is brand new and very well orginized for a organization store :) there was plenty of staff on hand for the grand opening.

Great location on the Leeward side of Oahu! They moved-​but now it’s more centrally located right here in Ewa Beach!
