Made reservations for a special occasion and the food was not even ready. They only started to crank it out when we arrived! To make matters worse, they were so in a hurry to chase out by asking one table if they’re done eating and if we wanted to wrap the food already. That’s no way to treat a customer with a huge entourage! House fried rice was bland and the pork buns had a porky taste. I don’t think you’ll get the«taste of Hong Kong» in this restaurant.

This place is a joke! I bought a couple of takeout plates for dinner and ALL where terrible! Portions were enough to feed a young elementary kid, but not an adult! One of the plates was sweet sour spareribs with 80% bones and no meat? I called the restaurant to tell them about the plates and portions, they said«too bad that’s how it’s severed!» Needless to say I will tell all my friends and family that this place sucks for food and their service! And never come here to eat!

To be honest, this place is not so bad. It is in my neighborhood and their take out is always so fast! But… I’m not sure that’s a good thing because that means they had at least some of the stuff pre-cooked. Nonetheless, still pretty ono! I consistently order the following items(all of which are recommended) — Salt and Pepper pork chops(salty, yummy, good portion, with a subtle curry-like marinade before frying) — shrimp fried rice(probably full of msg, but so tasty) — shrimp with honey walnuts(ITSCRACK) — wonton soup(I’m a soup person, what can I say) — crispy gau gee main(saucy chow mein and comes with giant fried gau gee w/sauces) — beef and broccoli I’ve ordered a few other things that were also pretty tasty. Again, not the healthiest, nor the best quality, but def satisfies my Chinese food craving. I always have leftovers for the next day because the portions are huge(at least for the noodle/rice dishes). Wish the restaurant was a little cleaner… it would make me feel a little bit better knowing my food was coming from a clean establishment.

Huge disappointment! It had been awhile since I had eaten here– but last night I was in the area and craving their Honey Walnut Shrimp & Orange Chicken.(Got 3 mini orange chicken on fried rice plates and a side order of honey walnut shrimp to take home for the family) Food smelled great but… Chicken was very dry and had no flavor– you could smell the orange sauce but couldn’t taste it at all. Honey Walnut shrimp was like soggy cardboard and also lacked taste. $ 40 wasted– next time I will just go to Panda Express!

So the food is very tasty here! I thought the Gau Gee Wontons and Beef & Broccoli were the best. The Short Ribs I could live without. I had takeout. I am 100% Chinese and it tastes like my family’s cooking. There was an interesting incident where we were overcharged. I went back to speak with them and I’ve never met such sweet workers/owners. They overcompensated and treated the situation so professionally. They refunded us and gave us more food on the house. They are an honest restaurant and I’m a big supporter of people like this. I would love to come back here because the food is delicious and the customer service is great as well.

I’ve been coming here for at least 15 years, and all I can say is «henhao chi»(Delicious). I had to Google that one lol! I really have no favorite because everything on their menu is sooooooo ono. Basically if you’ve been to one Chinese restaurant you’ve been to them all, but not necessarily because not all Chinese restaurant execute their dishes the same. Taste of Hong Kong is by far one of the best I’ve been to. Located in the Ewa Town center next to Jamba Juice and Clinical Laboratories Of Hawaii, you’ll find a restaurant that seats about 65 pax. Another plus to this location is the ample parking thus place has, and the take out order option, because it can get pretty busy. Over all I will continue to frequent this restaurant, not just for the food, but for the service they give. This is a family run business, and they are on point regarding their food and service. Now I’m craving for their cake noodle. Lol Happy eating.

We were one of those people who didn’t wanna cook on Christmas Day. Since my fiancé decided that it would a great idea for me to drive and him try to look for the menu online. Worst idea ever. We got there was afraid that they were closed since the parking lot was empty! …but thankfully, they weren’t. Ordered about 5 or 6 different items from their menu and was told it would be about half an hr for the order to be ready, which I understood based on all the orders that they had waiting to be picked up and it was Christmas day. The staff were really nice, even if they were all over the place with pick ups, phone orders, walk ins, etc. My fiancé was in a rush cause he wanted to make it on time for the basketball game that they were showing on tv, but we got our order in about 20 mins. Food was good. I liked the shrimp fried rice and especially the orange chicken that we ordered. SOYUMMEHHHHH.

I had to give it a star to write a review. This place is not worthy of it. The service was good. Food came out quickly BUT, the food was horrible!!! The cake noodles were dry and hard with NO gravy. The walnut shrimp had a lot of batter on the shrimp. At least we can say we tried this place. We will not be returning. We will be sticking to our favorite Chinese restaurant«Ewa Pointe».

This has to be some of the better Chinese food I have had and I am a sucker for their salt and pepper pork chops. My kids loved the beef and broccoli. Since moving closer to town, I usually only stop in when I am in Ewa Beach for a dentist appt-I look forward to dental work, because that means it’s yummy Chinese for dinner

I really hoped this place would be good Chinese food… especially when I saw the Chinese people ladies who came out of the kitchen. But the food was at best, just ok. We ordered two things. 1. Steamed potstickers 2. Peking Duck with 6 bao buns. We came here on a random Saturday because I was craving Chinese and had already tried another dude the weekend before. It was nice and clean and for 1:30pm in the afternoon, pretty dead. Only one other customer around. When the order came out, it came out pretty much at the same time. Thats fine, but there was a small table side service for the duck we didn’t realize. But in each bao bun, she put in a sliver of crispy(or not so crispy) duck skin, some shredded green onions and a smear of plum sauce.(I’m assuming it was plum sauce.) She does this for each one and my husband I just look at each other going… $ 19 and this is all the meat we get? So we’re too stunned to say anything ATWHICH point the server turns around with a plate of duck. I’m thinking, why didn’t you actually put any MEAT into the buns? Needless to say, the duck was pretty dry and I just made do with what we had. It wasn’t the worst place in the world to eat, and as we only ordered those two things I won’t make further comment. The place looks clean enough and maybe they do other things well, but for this round… I’d pass on the peking duck…

Best chinese food in the west. And im not just talking about west side of the island. Western U. S! Been coming here since I was a kid and i guess its more like comfort food now. Not too salty like other places and portions are really generous. Loce. this place.

A little bit pricier than a local chop suey place, but the food is delicious and the service is fab. Located near a Jamba and a Foodland supermarket so parking can be tight but it’s free and there is always some to be had. Our particular favorite is the fish filet with soy ginger sauce. Yums!!!

Delicious and reasonably priced. I really like the broccoli beef and sweet and sour chicken. The spicy mustard is my favorite!

I mainly go to Taste of Hong Kong for their Honey Walnut shrimp, Twin Mushrooms with chicken, Steamed Fish(basa with sauce made with ginger, green onions, shoyu and oil), and my all time favorite… Salt and Pepper Pork Chops!!! Its a great place for the price, food quality is consistently great, and the servers are always friendly and competent. My water glass never reaches empty(which is on «the top 3 requirements» list of gauging a restaurant’s quality… well, that’s on MY list). My only gripe with this place(and its a small gripe hahah) is when I call to order take out, the person who usually answers the phone sounds like she’s always rushing and mildly rude. Anyway, they always get my orders right and the wait is never long. I’ve ordered a pan with side dishes before and I was told to pick it up in 10 minutes! Overall, a great restaurant.

Walnut shrimp is my favorite here but I also love their egg fu young! The lighting is perfect and the place is always clean and not too crowded when I go. I enjoying ordering take out by calling it in advance. The people there are friendly as well. The only reason why I didn’t put 5 stars is because the price can be pricey on some of the dishes and I get confused where to pay. There’s really no desk to go to and I always end up going to the workers to give my payment. Otherwise, great Chinese restaurant on the west side!

Jook/congee Not on the menu but just had their jook with chicken. Hit the spot. Wasn’t feeling good and the only thing that I want to eat when I’m sick is jook. Thank you!

One of my thoughts during dinner was … «How do we keep passing this place and not ever come in? I’ve been missing out!» For a Chinese place, it’s a wonderful ambience. Very casual, peaceful, quiet … but pretty lively once the crowd comes in. The place is CLEAN… huge thing I noticed. They also had a nice poster/paint on the right of the restaurant that added the perfect touch to the place. The prices are reasonable for Chinese, but really cheap for a place this nice. All about 8 – 14 average a plate. They serve tea and water upon arrival. Derek had the Walnut shrimp with rice, which was super good… $ 13.95 I had the dinner special. $ 8.95, also good. I’m just not a fan of ramen myself but I know compared to other places it was the same. But I am just seriously wowed at their service. It was an extremely enjoyable experience. I asked Derek which Chinese restaurant he liked so far and he said«this place.» I asked why. He said. «Well, the food all tastes the same. The prices are around the same. For one, this place has a nice environment. But look at our glasses of water and cups of tea. Tell me not, they are full. When have they even been halfway empty the whole time we have been here?» He was right. We both had a long day of work and it’s really nice to know we could keep chugging our dehydrated throats with no stress of if the waitress was going to come back and refill or worry about timing our next sips in case we might have to wait for more water. SCORE! Tis true. The service we received was among the BEST we’ve ever had. Full ice cold water, hot tea, smiles, seated upon arrival. Barely any wait. HOTFOOD. When I requested something like sweet and sour sauce there was no ifs ands or butts, but within seconds it’s there.

Pros: Fast cooking, easy location, such good food Cons: Nothing extravagant. Alcohol: Nope. Parking/Location: same parking lot as Ewa Beach Foodland. My go-to place for Chinese. I have been here countless times. If you need a small order for take-out, they’re quick. If you need a large order for a party, they cover that too. If you want to sit-down, you’ll have a nice experience. My favorite order will always be their lemon chicken on cake noodle. $ 6 for mini plates. They also have $ 1 char siu manapua. Service is always very good, but it may be because of the frequency of my visits.

Been eating at this place for about 5 yrs or so and haven’t had any bad experiences. My grandma absolutely loves their crispy gau gee and won tons. I always order that along with some kind of cake noodle and maybe some meat… cold Ginger chicken, char siu… my aunt loves their egg Fu young and daddy gets some shrimp canton. So There’s basically something for everyone here! As far as pricing… eh, it’s alright. But I guess all Chinese food can get pretty pricey! The crappy thing in this shopping center, is the parking. Not like it’s their fault, but Ya, it’s hard to find parking most of the time. To save myself some trouble, because I normally don’t dine in, I just call and place a take out order when I’m on my way there and my food is usually ready when I arrive.
