Traveling on business, I panicked when I found my temporary crown missing when I went to brush my teeth in the morning. I have had temp crowns come loose before, but never disappear. Since it was a back tooth, my dentist said I would be okay for the week until I returned to NY unless there was sensitivity. He believed I swallowed the temp in my sleep(scary!!) A few hours later… oh boy, there was sensitivity. I couldn’t even drink room temperature water. I imagined I would be dehydrated & starving if I couldn’t get this resolved quickly. I spoke to several dentists in Duluth & the Minneapolis area who didn’t really want to deal with replacing a temporary crown on a very temporary patient. Luckily, my sales rep in MN recommended his dentist’s office and Dr. Harvieux had an opening the next day. From the moment I walked in the office, I was put at ease. The sweet woman at the desk explained what the Dr. would have to do since they didn’t have an imprint of my original tooth. She helped me fill out their ipad patient information forms quickly so the dentist could squeeze me in earlier than my original appointment time.(I had no rental car, and my sales rep had to drop me off at 8 am for my 11:00 appt. so he could get to his sales call). The Doctor and his assistant had great«chair side» manner. Dr. Harvieux explained what they were going to do to help protect the tooth until I could get back home the following week. He warned me to be careful as their was little tooth for the temporary cement to adhere to(hence the original problem). Within 30 to 45 minutes, I was in much better shape dentally & mentally:) After paying my bill, the same woman who checked me in offered to drive me somewhere(since she knew I was dropped off & my rep was now about an hour away). I didn’t take her up on that, but it showed me that this was a dental office that cares about their patients… new, old, & temporary:) I hope I never need his services when visiting the area. I would highly recommend this office for friendly, compassionate emergency visit or regular dental care.(It is also in an adorable waterside city with great stores & a lovely french patisserie when you don’t have a toothache!)
