Tried this place 3 times and all 3 times it was painfully disappointing. Food is mediocre and overly cooked. Service was slow and the staff couldn’t be more rude. Not going back.

First and last time here. SUPER loud live music, on top of burgers marked«medium rare» that were both well done and $ 40 bill for 2 with only water for drinks. Only plus is we got a table without waiting, most other restaurants in town had waits to be seated. Manager did try to address the loud music but it didn’t last long and was blaring again.

Terrible service. Food is good. This is the 3rd time I’ve been here, and every time it’s horrible service. Bartenders are very good, but hostess chicks don’t know what they’re doing and the waitresses are slow AF. Showed up today and the place was 1⁄3 full, yet my buddy and I couldn’t get seated because of ‘reservations’. We stood the whole time, ate a pizza and had 3 drinks. When we left there were STILL tables available, but they wouldn’t seat us. Terrible.

The El Guaco burger is phenomenal! The best burger I have had! Atmosphere is great and service is wonderful! I’ll definitely come back!

One of the best burger I ate in awhile. The service was lightning fast and burger cooked perfectly. The Grease, The Organic Grass Fed Beef, the Buttered Bun, and the Amazing seared Link and Jalepenos… oh and did I mention. I CRUSHED the burger in less than 5 minutes into it, it was soo very delicious. Thank you Jesus

Okay, I’ve been here several times over that last few months. It has been consistently good. These are the elements that are important to me: lots of screens to see a variety of games, really good fresh and delicious food, clean and inviting space, varied beer selection(very important to have good craft beers and IPA on draft), and above par service. In a town crowded with good eats, Suburban fits right in. I also did the trivia one night, it was a good format and hard enough to be competitive. It can be a bit noisy at times but most places these days court that high energy so I can’t fault that. And one more thing — it’s family friendly. That’s a plus when I have the grandson along. And when it’s just me and my man, it’s a good place to belly up to the bar and have a bite and a beer. So, I have given it full five stars — with the most weight being on the quality and selection of food.

Great food. You get two stars for that. If the service was good you get another 2. If it was amazing you get 3 more. Service was atrocious. Zero stars for service. I so wanted to love this place. We are new to town and walked in with wife and boys in tow hoping to catch some sports with a good burger and good service. Christa helped us and honestly didn’t do anything wrong. She just didn’t do anything right. She just didn’t care. At all. If there was a rating for fulfilling the bare minimum she gets it. If you’re going to charge $ 15 for a burger and charge an extra .50 cents for BBQ sauce, you’re asking to be treated like a full service restaurant, and so my expectations are as such. They missed an enormous opportunity to wow a new family and earn future business with just 2 minutes of fake caring. Fake it. Act like you care that I’m dropping $ 80 on burgers and that I value my money. I can get a good burger damn near anywhere. You go back for service and the people. I live so close and wish I had a reason to go back but I don’t.

The Suburban is great! The food has almost always come out quickly, and it’s always fresh and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. They focus on using local food and drink, and they have fresh beef so they don’t even have a freezer. I feel like that even though it’s moderately expensive, they are very worthwhile. I wish I could afford to go there more!

Second time here, first experience was not great… Service was outstanding this time! Our server was very attentive, funny and patient. Appetizer came out quickly(cheese curds and chips/guac) and food followed just as we finished the appetizer. Would definitely come back!

House made black bean patties. Upbeat vibe with modern music. Definitely one of my favorite places in Excelsior.

Service was amazing, very friendly people. But, have too greasy cheese curds and gave sera mist instead of sprite.

We celebrated Father’s Day as a family and everything was perfect! Our server was very attentive. Our food arrived in a timely manner, and everything was delicious. I tried the burger of the month with Brie cheese and it was very good. My husband had a pizza, and it was fabulous. My oldest son had the Mac Daddy hot dog with bacon and mac and cheese, and he raved about how good it was. My other two boys had kids meals and their favorite part was the ice cream for dessert. We will definitely be back!

Pretty decent place. A wee pricey, but the kids menus are a great value. Good choice of beers and quality of the burgers, dogs and pizzas is high.

The drinks I had no complaints on and the did set us up a table quickly, which I appreciated. All I ordered was queso blanco and it didn’t come out hot. And I feel bad saying but are those skirts dress code? Too too short on some and not age appropriate on another.

We got there at 1 on a Saturday, and the place wasn’t busy at all. We placed our order, and waited 45 minutes for two hot dogs. They also placed a family with two high chairs right next to us, despite the sea of open tables around us. The waitress offered us free dessert, but by the time we got our food, we just wanted to get out of there. Too bad, it has potential.

This place has really come around, it was packed by 6 on a Friday. Wait service was crisp, food came out very quickly. Enormous chicken cob salad was good. Burger was also good. Kids burgers and cheese curds also good. It’s a little loud, could use some sound dampening material on the ceiling, but overall really pleased the way this place has come along.

I come every Tuesday for trivia night and its simply a blast. So happy somebody brought back trivia to Excelsior after 318 stopped a few years back. Boy do they pack people in on this night! The two trivia nights before Christmas and new years were standing room only yet nobody seemed to care! Food recommendations: I love the Classic burger but they also tend to have really good burgers of the month that are fun to try! Pizzas are thin and crispy. The Cuban hotdog is delish and a little bit lighter if you dont want to tackle a burger!

I had dinner with my wife here on a Saturday night after having a flight at Excelsior Brewing down the street. I didn’t have very high expectations and had a great experience. The atmosphere felt like«modern meets sports bar,» supported by a beer list with just enough craft brews to satisfy most people. We started out dinner with the Pepperoni Wontons which were good, but the surprise of the night was the Bacon Mac and Cheese Pizza. We’ve had MCP before, but the consistency of the noodles and amount of flavor(mostly garlic) in the sauce made this a win for me. The crust is also the good kind of flaky and they give you a side of ranch to dip it in. If you go this route, be sure to pony up the extra two bucks and add the sliced hotdogs, which were really more like sausage than traditional hot dogs.

The food is pretty good, not terrible, not amazing either. The first two drinks we ordered off the menu they did not have.(seems like they need to get a handle on their ordering or change the menu) excelsior brat and tots = huge portion of tots, brat was good but strangely not salty at all(I mean when was the last time you had brat with no salt in it?) Lime chicken salad= quite fresh with a good variety of ingredients, one of the better salad options in excelsior. Drinks= wish they would’ve had the two things we ordered in stock, wine we ended up with was clean tasting and drinkable Ambiance: Very loud and echoey, impossible to have a convo.(a little sound padding in the ceiling would help a ton) Upkeep: one of the huge lights had a bulb out, and the lights around the bar were loose and looked tacked on) Service: are server was clearly nervous, and wasn’t adept at smoothing over the fact items we ordered they didn’t have. but everything came out swiftly and hot, no one was outwardly rude. The bartenders did look completely frazzled though.

This place is very very odd. I keep trying to figure out what this place is attempting to be. Is it a pizza place? Is it a burger joint? is it a sports bar? Its it a craft beer bar? I can’t walk in and say this is what this place does well. Who ever designed the menu really liked messing with fonts. Each item has its own font which just is strange. Nothing stands out because its all a jumbled mess. The place feels very sterile not much on the walls aside from TVs. They don’t highlight any sports going on. There aren’t say Twins specials or Hockey watch parties. So it isn’t a sports bar. Sports bars serve wings. The pizza is ok nothing special. Other folks in my party had the chicago dog and a burger. The hot dog was a good representation of a chicago dog but pricey for what it is. The burger was well cooked and served with some really good fries. If I had to sum up this place, the food is ok nothing special and a little on the pricey side. the atmosphere is confusing and nothing in the place lends itself to how the place should be. Its not a wild party, ala some of the decks in town. Its not the local townie bar. Its not a family restaurant because of the menu and prices. Its not a high fashion foodie place because its burgers, dogs and pizza. Its just kinda there without a clear vision.
