Definitely the best restaurant in Exeter. This place has food that no other restaurant in the town has. The steak was the same quality as a famous steakhouse I go to. The food is all organic and is extremely healthy. Give it a shot!

We found Blue Moon Evolution on Unilocal and before we arrived all we had to go on was the menu, the description, and the reviews. The food that is prepared and served is nothing short of amazing. They lean very heavily on locally sourced ingredients that have outstanding quality, and then prepare them in the most delicious way. The atmosphere is that of finer dining with excellent servers who are very knowledgeable about the food that they serve. Amelia was thorough and attentive right from the moment we were seated to the moment we departed. The attention that the rest of the staff paid has the same quality. If someone saw that you needed something they did it… even if it wasn’t there table. We enjoyed for appetizers the cheese board, the meat board, the lentil soup, and the figs stuffed with bleu cheese. For entrees we has root vegetable Risotto and a the meat plate with a stew. (There was no room left for dessert but the menu looked amazing). I strongly feel that this is a place where you must respect the quality and the preparation of the food. This restaurant should be on every foodie’s list of places to visit. Not a place for jeans and t-shirt… but a place for a date!

Fresh, delicious, local food at a reasonable price. Great wine selection as well. I always sit at the bar and get great service from the very efficient and friendly Tara. Burger night(Wednesdays) rules! Will return again and again.

Good food, bad taste in my mouth! We called for reservations and they don’t call back until 3:00 pm. We wanted 6 but they had 5:30 so we took it. We were on time, it was my son’s 40th birthday, and we were seated immediately. The course came in a timely manner and we didn’t linger over each. The food was good and interesting. While dessert was still on the table and no coffee or after dinner drinks had been offered, I went to the ladies. When I got back, everyone had their coats on. I asked why and was told they we were asked to leave as they needed the table. I have to say this was a first for me! I’ve checked with others to see if this has ever happened to them and the answer was no. My friend in NYC said that she’s been pre-warned at times that the restaurant was very busy that night and there was a time slot for the reservation. That would have been fine with me as we could then decide whether we wanted to eat there! Left a very bad taste in my mouth.

I’ve been here for both lunch(more casual) and dinner(more formal). Its great how both are different takes on vegetarian-focused fare. Its great to be able to try new things that they create here as vegetarian fare can sometimes seem to be repetitive. Definitely make reservations for dinner though.

We brought friends, whom have never been. We were greeted immediately! We had a great table, and the server, Devin, was outstanding. She was personable and attentive, most of all, knowledgeable. Our wine glasses and water glasses were always kept full. Our apps came out in a timely manner and we’re tastey. We had the seafood cakes and raw board. The spinach salad was fresh and delish. We then had Rissotto, Steak, Lamb and Pork. Everything was cooked perfect and tasted perfect. Again, Devon was very attentive. Desserts, out of this world! This is a TRUE farm to table fresh tasty restaurant. Don’t let other places fool you, for being farm to table, or any other use of words. Excellent dinner!

This is the perfect date spot if you are looking for something upscale. The bar here is wonderfully cozy, too. Hosts are really well trained here and they do a GREAT job of explaining the menu in detail, offering pairings, etc. The food is locally sourced and incredible, although the menu is somewhat limited there is something for everyone. The vegetarian options are excellent.

Thanks, Unilocal, for helping us find this place! After last night’s disappointment(trying the new place in town) I thought we’d better stop leaving things to chance. I opened up Unilocal and looked for the highest rated joint within 10 miles. This isn’t a place that you’d find on your own. You drive in a(literal) circle to get there. Once you do, you find many other patrons who have already figured it out. We kept it simple with soups and half sandwiches. Homemade and delicious. I got a chuckle at how many times the word«organic» is used on the menu. It would have been easier to mark the items that were NOT organic(If there even are any). We read through the dinner menu and will be back to try the more ambitious dishes(vs a pretty straight forward lunch menu). The hostess /waitress asked if it was our first time there and when we said«yes» she took extra time to tell us about the place and go over several of the more popular menu items with us.(This is the complete opposite of my experience last night at the other«new» place in town). So, lesson learned. Trust the crowd sourcing power of Unilocal whenever possible!

I had been dying to try this place for a year and finally went and it lived up to every expectation and every great review. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the dark wood bar is stunning. And the food was incredible! I had a very simple chicken wrap that was so fresh and the cauliflower soup… wow. I can’t wait to come back!

I am Sooooo torn on this one. We came for dinner on a Friday night and were immediately seated. The wait for drinks was a bit long, but when she arrived, the waitress was warm and friendly. We got bread, which was delicious, and we were both starving. We started with salads and ordered the cheese board, the latter of which we never got. That was ok because we both left pretty full anyway. More on the salads below. For dinner, I ordered the sirloin, cooked medium, and my wife ordered the Farm Trio. The steak was a bit rare, which was ok because it was delicious. The Trio was good, except the cacciatori was a little bland. Over all, the meal was quite good. And then we got back to the hotel. Both of us got the worst case of colon blow ever. It can only be attributed to the spinach in the salads. Is that their fault? I’m not sure, but it definitely dampened the experience. I would probably go back… but stay away from the salad!

This is my birthday/anniversary go to place. It’s a little pricey for what you get but the staff is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their food. Luna sandwich with brie and fresh apple with a tart dressing complement and a Nantucket chicken salad and cranberry… and a pre-turkey day not so leftover sandwich… very fresh. Yum

This is a lovely place with great ambience. A coworker and I came here after work and had the cheeseboard as well as another board with olives, sesame hummus, carrots and other veggies. We sat at the bar and had very good service. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again.

My mom and I both ordered the lemon herb haddock to take back to our hotel and it was fantastic. We both ate every single bite and still wanted more. If we’re ever back in the area we will absolutely come here to try more off the menu.

If I can eat all their superfood salad, it still would not be enough ;-) Enjoy eating lunch, dinner, or sitting in the bar area for smaller plates with friends. Blue moon is a special place with great attention to excellent food with mostly local and always thoughtfully chosen ingredients. Love.

This place is awesome for lunch. The salad bar is so fresh and all organic. You can tell that everything is made with great care and respect for the food. It makes you appreciate every bite and aroma. The crispy tofu is delicious.

I’m updating my review because I feel the kitchen deserves praise for great flavors based on dinners I’ve enjoyed recently. Food is consistently top notch for the most part. My only complaint is they do not cook all of their root vegetables until they are tender. For example, I ordered the hake special last week and while the accompanying fingerling potatoes were great, the turnips(rutabagas?) were not tender. I am a fan of al dente green beans, asparagus and pasta, not root vegetables, though. Unfortunately, this has happened every time root vegetables have been included on the plate with my dinner — which is just about every time. Service is excellent and atmosphere very good(chair was not comfortable, rickity and pad was worn out.) All things considered, among the best to be offered in the area. Very nice wine selection, too! The last time I had lunch there I made my own salad from the salad bar and thought it was terrific. Great variety of yummy choices on offer. .

I cannot believe this place has anything less than 5 stars average. What an incredible place. My boyfriend, his mother, and I went on Valentines day 2015. We didn’t have a reservation so we got their early to snag a seat at the bar(they open at 5 and we got there at 4:30 — glad we did too because people were already waiting with the same idea in mind!). The staff and servers are SO well trained and attentive to all your needs. The atmosphere is great and the lighting is really calming. The nice soft jazz music in the background was also nice. My boyfriend and his mom split a Charcuterie(I’m a vegetarian). They had nothing but great things to say about it. We also split a Nori Roll which was very different and surprisingly tasty. Really flavorful for a raw dish. She got fish, which she said was amazing and ate the whole thing. My boyfriend got chicken, and he said that it was the best chicken he’s ever had. I had the vegetable bolognese which was absolutely out of this world. It was a great mix of texture, with the soft polenta, to the beans, to the crispy meaty mushrooms. Needless to say I ate it all without much effort. We will definitely be back. This place deserves an award.
