I kept getting really excited every time we passed Clyde’s because of the big pink food truck parked outside. Finally my boyfriend stopped in so I could get my fix Upon walking in it had less desserts than I was expecting, but a gorgeous cupcake with an Oreo stuck right on top caught my eye. The girl behind the counter told me that one was«Oreo Milk» and said a few of the other flavors. She might’ve said something bout the other non-cupcake desserts I don’t know I was thinking about that Oreo. Naturally, that is the cupcake I chose and let me tell you! That was the BEST cupcake I’ve ever had. I’m a little spacey sometimes, especially when my brain is preoccupied with Oreos, and I didn’t really understand why it was called Oreo Milk … Until I got a big bite of the perfect icing! It was just like the deliciously sweet milk, all full of mushy, crumbly cookie pieces, after dipping Oreo after Oreo in it while watching Saturday morning cartoons. Aaaah the memories

I’ve always had a great experience at Clyde’s. The cupcakes have interesting flavors and are very tasty. The staff behind the counter is always very helpful. It’s great to go there for holidays and special occasions.

Update: a friend of mine recently brought back some cupcakes from Clyde’s for our office and they were waayyyy too dense and did not seem fresh. Tasted as though they had been frozen and thawed out!

My husband and I wanted to have Clydes make our wedding cake and cupcakes for our wedding this past weekend. We put in the order a few weeks ago and had everything confirmed for delivery on Saturday. They never showed up for delivery and my wedding planner had to go all the way to their shop, only to be knocking on the door with no answer. 3 hours later, Clyde decided to drop off a cake(not at all what we had ordered for our wedding cake) and some cupcakes. He was so rude and disrespectful to our wedding planner and was demanding to speak to my parents during the middle of our dinner! He made up some lie that our wedding cake and cupcakes had somehow been dropped off at Phillips Exeter Academy. Thankfully the kind people at Hannafords made us a beautiful cake and cupcakes in a punch. Do not Clyde’s Cupcakes with large orders or for any special event. Their cupcakes might be delicious but the owner is a disgrace.

Following my post six days ago, Clyde replied«come by and I will have a refund of $ 12.75». I met with him today and received $ as promised. Clyde also offered to make a birthday cake gratis. I thanked him for the offer but could not accept. After talking with him for some 15 minutes he explained that he takes pride in his product and business. I told him that I was hasty in this Unilocaling. He’s a good man and sells a great product and is true to his word.

Clyde’s is amazing. The staff is so nice and the cupcakes are to die for. We are getting our wedding cake from them and they have been a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Clyde’s to anyone with an upcoming event!!!

We got six cupcakes… only two were fresh, the rest of them were stale! I guess they don’t care about giving old, stale cupcakes to their new customers. Won’t be back!

I went to Clyde’s for cupcakes for the first time this past weekend. I am happy to say that I will be returning! These cupcakes are really good! I got 5 cupcakes while I was there, 3 for me and 2 for m significant other who is a picky picky cupcake eater. I tried a chocolate/vanilla swirly cupcake with cream cheese frosting dotted with chocolate chips(I cannot recall the official name of the cupcake) that was absolutely delicious, a chocolate strawberry cupcake with a chocolate dipped strawberry on top, and a vanilla cupcake with caramel frosting. I got the caramel one on accident, thinking it was a pineapple mango cupcake(must have pointed to the wrong one in the display) but still enjoyed it. The cake for each cupcake was moist and delicious, and the frosting was sweet but not overly so. Clyde’s had a great combination of flavors to try. The holiday cupcakes for Halloween were totally adorable, though I did not try any. For the boyfriend, I got a Plain Jane, which is vanilla cake and vanilla frosting(he’s boring) and an oreo surprise. He highly enjoyed both. Usually he says meh to the best of cupcakes I bring home! In all, Clyde’s is lovely, with lovely cupcakes. Well worth the drive from Concord for cupcakes. I highly recommend giving them a try. You won’t regret it.

Clyde’s Cupcakes has greatly improved over the last two years. Admittedly, the cupcakes used to be a dry but of late, they are moist and delicious. The décor inside Clyde’s is adorable. its worth the trip.

I tried the Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Frosting, Red Velvet with Butter cream Frosting, and an Oreo cupcake. The Red Velvet were very dry and lacked flavor. The oreo was pretty good though. I’d go back and try other flavors, but I have certainly experienced better elsewhere.

I bought 2 cupcakes for the first time on the same day my husband bought 2 cupcakes for the first time! I’m sorry to say, we had $ 10. worth of stale cupcakes. They tasted days old, and we had to throw them out. They were inedible. I was so disappointed, I really wanted a good cupcake place in Exeter. They had one chance to make a good impression, and they blew it. Too bad, we would have been good customers, but now I won’t go back.

Clyde’s is great fun. The iced coffee is amazing and selection of cupcakes and new treats is never ending! They are standard tin sized cupcakes priced at $ 2.50 each; sometimes I think that’s a little steep but it’s yet to stop me from buying one(usually more.) I love their Bob’s(whoopie pies) They are as close to my mother’s as I’ve seen, very New England! The service is remarkable. I’ve been in there multiple times and never been told, like the previous reviewer, that I needed to wait an hour before eating. I think every time I’ve been in it’s been spontaneous! When I saw a cupcake shop going in there I thought«yeah, right — — that will last a minute» but when I finally stopped in I was glad to see what a great niche he & his family are making! Keep up the great work Clyde!

We eagerly awaited months for Clyde’s to open and finally one day my kids spotted an «OPEN» sign, so we went in and purchased 4 different flavors. We found the cupcakes to be dry, not overly tasty and expensive($ 2.50ea) for the size. That said, Clyde’s wife was very helpful in answering my questions. I have heard some very favorable reviews from friends, so we may give Clyde’s another try. Perhaps is was opening week kinks being worked out! ;)

There is nothing special about their cupcakes. They are served refrigerated and you’re instructed to wait an hour before eating(goodbye spontaneous customers!). You can taste the refrigeration. No cupcakes are room temperature and assembled fresh like the ones at the On The Vine bakery in Exeter. We tried 4 cupcakes. They were small and were priced at $ 2.50/each. When they reached room temperature they passed as decent cupcakes. One was based on carrot cake ingredients and that was quite good. The worst was the red velvet. It was dry and bland and it ended up in the garbage. We had a lemon square and it was fresh and moist but overwhelmingly sweet. I would not go there again but would not discourage you from giving them a shot. I would have given Clydes 2 stars but the service was really good. I also feel bad knowing this cupcake fad will soon end and they, along with the dozens of other overpriced cupcake joints, will go the way of oxygen bars.
