Humble Pie is a little food shop(located next to the Amtrak Station) which sells baked goods, desserts, breads, and heat & serve meals. It feels like you’re stepping into someone’s country kitchen and it’s a great place to pickup homestyle meals to heat up at home and call it your own, perfect for folks with busy lives. The prepared food offerings include dinner(humble) pies, prime rib special, chicken, comfort dishes, soups, side dishes, full turkey dinners(Thanksgiving meals), and more. Calling ahead is advised for special orders. On a recent visit to the shop, I got a slice of the sausage, ricotta, & tomato pie(¼ the pie) and a pumpkin whoopie pie for dessert. The humble pie was boxed and labeled with instructions to bake the slice at 350 degrees in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes. The service was friendly. Later on, I baked the pie as instructed(hot out of the oven) and it was a very filling and dense pie slice to eat, fillings of similar ingredients to a NY calzone with a flaky crust. Tasty indeed! The pumpkin whoopie pie was pretty good after dinner.
